Mid-Grade - But Not Sure Why

As a longtime user of Razer products, especially their Deathadder V3 mice (Hyperspeed and Pro) and headsets (Blackshark V2 Pro and V3 Pro) and desktop audio (Nommo V2) - I am confused about this product. I don't understand what Razer was trying to bring to the market. As I continue to use and get time with this new headset... I find myself liking it less and less.
The Blackshark V3 Pro has some new features compared to V2 - Most importantly, for gamers, would be the new Hyperspeed Wireless dongle. This device is meant to give you lightning fast response times on your audio delivery. Think of this as "ensuring you hear the footsteps before they ever reach you" technology. I, personally, am not enough of a professional gamer to notice the difference. I do believe that for those who want the fastest response time for their audio, with no cables allowed, Razer offers a compelling solution. Razer's V3 Pros also have ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) with transparency mode.
The ANC and transparency modes are lackluster, to say the least. I daily drive popular audio solutions from popular audio manufacturers, with ANC, both earbuds and on-ear headphones. Let me just say... Razer's ANC, from my point of view, does absolutely nothing, except add a muffle to all of the sound happening around you. I find that distracting. If ANC does not truly clear sound out of my environment. I'd rather have it off. There are 3 different types of ANC that you can toggle between in Razer Synapse, Razer's desktop software for all of their PC hardware and accessories. I did not see a noticeable difference between the 3 modes. I was not able to even block out the noise of soft jazz playing in the other room. The music was slightly muffled, but that's all I can say. If you have a fan that is blowing silently behind you, the ANC will mask that sound. If the fan is a bit too noisy, then you'll probably hear it through the ANC.
The build on this device is... Degraded, compared to the V2. I do understand the need to cut costs, in today's economy. What I do not understand... Is why the V3 feels so much cheaper than the V2. It seems that Razer did a great job picking out high quality foams for the V2. I would say that the ear covers were soft and luxurious, same goes for the top of the headband. On the V3, there is a new type of bio-based polymer that they are using, along with (I assume) a new memory foam or padding fill material. Here's my honesty though - I don't find the headset comfortable. I don't like how it sits on my head or on my ears. I feel that the foam bottoms out much sooner than it should, which is extremely bothersome for someone like me who wears his gaming headset for long sessions. I don't like the idea of wearing a headset that's uncomfortable. Razer used to have the most comfortable and cloud-comparable headset on the market with the Blackshark V2. Finally, I feel that the plastics they have moved to, no longer feel premium. The new plastic feels cheap. It's too light and hollow feeling. There is a subtle difference between lightweight-premium and cheap-feeling. Razer went over the edge, and the new plastic does not feel premium. It's passable. I don't think it's passable on a premium-grade audio product, though.
Premium audio - how good is the audio? Again, lackluster. I do not know what they did when they chose their new 50mm drivers, but the drivers in the V2 were wonderful. I did not have any complaints about the audio quality. The V2 was not audiophile grade - but it was comfortable, clear, and well-sounding across all audio ranges. Music, movies, shooters, and RPGs, were all a joy to listen to with the V2. With V3... You will be just fine in games. I want to ensure clarity here - the audio that you get from games will be fast, performant, and I do believe that the THX virtual surround sound technology (Included in Razer Synapse) will help you in your Fortnite grind. It's important to hear what's around you, and you do get that experience with the Blackshark V3. I don't recommend enjoying a movie or your favorite tunes on here, though. There is a remarkable lack of rumbly bass, a lack of clear highs, a lack of balance in the mids, and everything begins to sound like discord above about 80% volume on Windows 11. This is... Not, at all, what I expected from Razer. I've used their audio solutions in the past. They have always delivered reasonably good results for me. This leaves me wondering if there is something wrong with the drivers on my unit, but based on all I've seen and tested so far, I don't believe anything is physically wrong with my headset. To be clear - I tested audio across many use cases with the EQ enabled in Razer Synapse, THX surround sound enabled and disabled, ANC on and off.
The mic quality and Bluetooth quality are great. Bluetooth connection is strong and reliable, but the audio quality will still be suspect. Razer continues to lead the pack with a very high quality mic setup, which honestly, is one of the main goals with a gaming headset. You can wander around your house without losing connection to your phone or console, and I believe they used a quality Bluetooth chipset in this headset.
Where does this leave us? I really don't know. I'm confused about this product. I feel like Razer built an amazing product previously, and they've chosen to take a step back on this release. I'm not sure if firmware can fix the ANC/Transparency effects, or audio quality, but I'm hopeful about it. I'd like to see this product be better, because it has the makings of something amazing. I won't say that the headset is purely uncomfortable to wear, but I won't lie about what is truly comfortable versus something that is passable. This leaves us in no man's land. I cannot recommend this product in its current state. If you find the headset to be comfortable to wear and Razer improves the headset through firmware updates, this may be the headset for you. For me, the Blackshark V3 Pro just does not fulfill my wants.

Feature rich and excellent audio. Designed similar to my earpro that I use on the gun range so its comfortability is something I’m already used to, which is a big plus. Kudos from fellow gamers on how I sound through the outstanding mic.

Quite comfortable and light. The sound quality is fabulous. I am not a gamer; however, these work great for any other activities online. Zoom meetings, and YT vids,
I would recommend this to a friend

This is an amazing piece of tech. Is a big step up from the V2. my my my man. It did get a bit heavy but since the purchase. after fully charge from 100% battery 6 days and going strong with 50% battery, I used it for 4 hours daily playing with the setting, EQ, MIC. and all the features gaming and some movies noise cancelling on and great performance. The hinge perfect.

Sound quality is great and the noise cancelling is extremely good. Good battery life. Spacial audio is fantastic. If you haven’t spent money on a quality gaming headset I would definitely cross that line, it’s a whole new ballgame.

Amazing sound quality. The mic also has great quality and clarity. Very comfortable as well. It does feel heavy initially right out of the box but after some use, you get used to it

This are great so far. Both the ANC and mic are great. Very comfortable. The connection dongle is not a direct USB dongle, it’s a wired so it’s good for moving around for better connection.

This product has great base but there is some drawning out of the sound but it doesnt matter if you want a good bass with ambient surround sound. The surround sound is a bit miss leading because you dont hear all around but just in 1 place. Though a few settings in place makes it a bit more surround sound. I would recommend this product 100% just below the Astros A50s.

I ended up buying the wrong version of this headset but its still very good. I wanted the cbox version but it wasnt until i bought the last pc version that the Xbox veraion was in stock. That aside it sounds amazing not that great for music though unless it is mainly bass. I did try it on xbox and it works only in wired mode. It would be 5 stars but after a while there will be a loud screech that the headset makes periodically when using it in xbox. Other then that its really good on pc and PlayStation.

It does very well for my needs both casual and whenever necessary for my personal endeavors. The volume knob and mic shut off button provides quick manipulation. The headset is very comfy on the ears which to me matters for those days of listening to music. It's an amazing headset for your gaming, music-listening, and work needs if you so desired.

From logitech pro wired to blackshark v3 and couldnt be happier . (Heavy cs player) sound adjust to fanes and discord easily. Ears get a bit tired holding headset after long hours. Wireless has been flawless.

Great noise cancelling ability. I already have some Razer peripherals, so synapse integration was smooth. I use a standalone mic, so I can't speak to that quality, but the sound quality for gaming and movies is top notch!
