    Love these!

Absolutely love these headphones. i find them super comfortable and the quality is top notch. I keep reading people complaining that these are heavy... do you guys have toothpick necks? These definitely are not heavy. I bought these to replace my razer barracuda headset which i bought 6 years ago. loved them but i dropped and broke them. otherwise i'd still be using them! But 6 years of use and abuse says a lot! Pair them up with Razer's surround sound software and the results are unmatched! I've a creative labs xifi gamer pro sound card and i like the razer software profile a lot better. Bravo Razer on another fantastic product.

So far the Best Headset I've owned!

I purchased the Razer BlackShark Expert 2.0, after owning and constantly using my older Razer Carcharias for around 2 years. I wanted a headset that was a good deal more comfortable, as I work remotely on many days and have to use my headset to communicate online quite frequently. Also, as a long time PC gamer who plays a fairly diverse selection of games, from Battlefield 4 and BioShock Infinite, to the original (read: Old Skool!) Starcraft, UT: 2004, I wanted to have audio quality that was as close to ideal as possible. The BlackShark was strongly recommended to me by a coworker and fellow gamer who uses his set for the same reasons as myself, and I have got to say, Razer did not disappoint! I have been enjoying the BlackShark for several months now, and it is still working perfectly and going strong as ever. I have been a Razer fan in general for several years now, and I have every intention to remain one, due to well-refined and top notch quality products like this.

    Impressed

Got these today after my previous headset broke. So far i am very impressed. They feel very sturdy and seem like they will last quite a while. They are fairly heavy but very comfortable none-the-less. The sound quality is impressive. From the booming bass to the delicate highs, these sound amazing. For the price it would have been nice to get a braided cord or a volume control but these aren't deal breakers for me. Overall i am happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone looking for headphones in the $100+ range.

Excellent headset, just one small problem

Overall I think the headset itself is excellent. It has an awesome looking design, and it sounds good. It isn't always comfortable though. And while the headset itself is sturdy, it feels fragile to the point where you think you will break it with anything you do. ONLY actual problem: The attachable cord (Not the one actually attached to the headset, but with the audio/microphone jacks) is ridiculously fragile. I was moving over to sit back down at my computer and I accidently sat on the cord. This caused the metal pieces of the jacks themselves to actually rip themselves out of the cord! So now I basically am left with the attached cord with no ability to use the microphone. I can probably buy the extra cord individually, or another from a different brand to replace it. This small thing is not worth returning the entire headset.

    Great headset for "global" use

I did some legwork before I purchased these, looking over the market for what would be the best bang for the buck. The following is my review for the product: Out of the box the headset looked and felt great. They had a nice weight to them, but for someone looking for "light weight" they may find these to be a little heavier as the plastic casing around the drivers as well as the drivers have a "weight" to them. They have a very nice retro bomber look to them and the contrasting chrome/onyx with neon green just pops. I found that setting the head band and the mic was simple; the ease of positioning was spot on - a few mount-screw twists and I was done. My intention for this head set was two fold: 1# gaming, 2) music while at work. First, the noise reduction I found in the set was quite amazing, instantly deadening the ambient noise around me when I put on the headphones. I've tested the set on three different applications and have found that all three have performed better than I had expected: ASUS G60v; Dell Precision M6600; iPhone 4S. In all three devices I've found really great sound quality with a good low end boost. I have the Dell outfitted with a very good sound card and have been able to produce studio quality sound; the ASUS is pure gaming, but I run the sound quality fairly low on it, but the sound was equally as impressive. The iPhone resulted in a wonderful listening experience and had a very clear sound through the mic when making a phone call. Overall I've found that this has been an all around good purchase. There is little I can find as a negative about the product other than the following. The weight, as mentioned before; there is no direct sound control on the unit #something I wouldn't have minded but it doesn't bother me, either#; perhaps a longer chord leading from the unit to the device, but even that's trivial and nitpicky. I would happily suggest these to anyone looking for a good, quality headset interested in multiple applications and uses.

I've had the Razor Blackshark headset since it launched with the battlefield special edition and I can honestly say its the best headset i've ever owned. No volume control, no mic switches no hassle. Its a completely analog headset . -Strong bass -Amazing sound canceling -Comfortable -indestructible I searched for bomb proof headsets for a long time and found it with this one. Would I recommend this headset? A million times yes!

    Excellent Product

I bought these as an upgrade from my Carcharias headset. Don't get me wrong, I loved that headset, but the mic gave out, which made it useless for gaming. I compared this one and the Tiamat, but I kept reading that the 7.1 in the Tiamat didn't stack up, or made certain sounds/frequencies sound weird. So, I bought these instead - I'm thoroughly pleased. Mechanics: Steel frame with screw clamps. This is an awesome step up because once you find that perfect fit for your dome, it's not going to slide out or come undone. The connecting wire for both ear cups is on the outside, but it's cable managed in some clips so it stays close to the frame. Just be careful not to snag it on anything. Microphone: This is probably one of the best features. The mic arm is steel framed and has 2 adjustment points (one at midway down the arm and one at the mic head base). Way better than a fixed position mic - you'll have no problem finding that perfect spot. One other cool feature is that the mic arm is actually connected to the headset through a 3.5mm jack and is detachable. Sound quality: In a word, it's "awesome". Music, movies and gaming are crystal clear and it has a lot of bass too. To be fair, I should mention that I have a Recon 3D Fatal1ty Pro sound card - if you are planning on using this headset through onboard audio - I wouldn't recommend this purchase as you probably won't notice any change in audio quality. However, you'll still have a very comfortable low-quality audio experience. Comfort: You can wear these things all day. There's memory foam in the soft leather cushion ring , it's a snug fit, but after it forms itself, you won't even know they are there. No ear sweating, no nothing. The only drawback (if you want to call it that) is that you are truly immersed in sound. These are designed much like hearing protection and drown out alot of ambient noise. It's worth mentioning that even at low volume, it's not easy to hear your mom or your wife calling you to take out the trash or some other task that will take you away from gaming (bonus!). For the money - this is a solid buy. Some of the associates in the store recommended the Tritton Warhead or the Turtle Beach headsets (as they are compatible with PC), but they are built strictly for gaming, not a mix of gaming and music and they weren't as comfortable. Besides, there's no reason to spend $300 on a headset.

I upgraded my Kracken headset to theses after seeking something more comfortable and I was amazed by the superior sound quality and the astounding comfort that these headphones offer. The removable mic is nice when you are using the headphones on the go and the appearance and feel is more premium compared to the plasticky Kracken headphones. I would recommend these over the other Razer ones.

All of Razer's headsets come with great sound quality so most of what you are going to be looking for is the style color and how you like your head bands to be. this one features a cool looking microphone that you can also detach if you wanted to use them as regular headphones also has a long cable for getting all the way behind your tower and the head bank is manually adjustable some people don't like that but i find that i can make it fit my head better than an auto adjustable one.

By far the best headphones i have ever had. They remind me of a high quality military set (i used headphones like this in the service). The sound quality is better than a set of Beats i have. I like them so much i bought another pair for my daughter for xmas. She loves them as well.

    Great design. Bad headset

What's great about it: Design - they look great What's not so great: Sound - sucks as headphones I was looking for a average headset that I can use on my computer, phone and game consoles...using the appropriate adapters of course. Razer's Balcksharks were perfect according to the specs. I was so excited finding what I was looking for. So I got them as a Christmas present for myself. The Blackshark felt a bit fragile, but something I can deal with. The design thou is great. I put them on and didn't look like a total tool. But before I even tested it out on the computer. I open up itunes and hooked up the Blacksharks. All I heard was the background music, the medially and the background vocals. Played other songs and the Same problem. Missing parts of the song. I hooked up my old headphones and everything was fine. To be honest, I didn't bother to hook them up on my computer. The Blacksharks were supposed to be used via headphone jack. Even comes out of the box with the headphone cord attached. If it can't do that right. It's not going to do anything else that it is suppose to be able to do. I really did not expect great sound...but I did expect them to be at least decent. I never have been disappointed on Christmas till now. Thanks Razer for the wonderful experience. All I can say, Buy at your own risk. Sad really, They do look awesome.

I'm on my second set in under a month and about to return this set also, it works good for like 3 days and then there is always buzzing, I've tried plugging it into different ports I have on my desktop, I've tried multiple laptops and still always hear buzzing in it. the mic doesn't always work. (I would have returned the first one sooner then a month but the best buy that I bought it from is a 45min drive otherwise I would have probably gone through more then 5 by now)

    Pretty Bad Sound

After having these for all of 2 hours I drove straight back and returned them. The bass is so heavy in the mid tones it drowns out everything else. Vocals are muffled even deep bass is muffled. After spending an hour getting them set up with what I thought was a good sound profile and another hour testing them out on music movies and a couple games I realized there was nothing to be done. I could see a USB headset having bass adjustments but an analog headset having them is just not good. If I want toned up bass I'll do it myself thank you very much. I ended up returning them for a pair of SteelSeries Siberias and was amazed at the difference in sound quality.
