Replaced my Dell XPS 9500 with this. The Dell was awful from day one, but that's another story. This laptop is incredible. For how sleek the design is, and how much power they we're able to pack into it. Truly incredible, and highly recommended. Best. Laptop. Ever. Owned.

Failure in touchscreen and in the touchpad

The laptop is by no means cheap so I'm expecting a top quality.
I contacted customer service because the touchscreen was not working and they told me to try and reset it. I'm certain that the issue is not in the software. It's a hardware malfunction.
Not only that but now the touchpad is not working. It is not clicking, the touch is okay but when I try to click it doesn't physically click, another hardware issue!
I take good care of my electronic devices and I never had something similar with much cheaper laptops!
It's really a disappointing experience and I will never repeat the same mistake and buy something from Razer as they don't even offer customer support once the product is out of warranty!
I'm attaching a photo of the touchpad when I'm pressing hard on it. As can be seen, it doesn't really go down.

Pretty computer but one year in its malfunctioning.
Interesting enough y it went bad just as the warranty expired. To make this worst it’s the send time this happens with best but computers.

Razor has always had the best gaming laptops combing portability, power and style. You would not be embarrassed using this in public, you can turn off the logo rgb also for even more stealth. Personally I prefer the mercury white line but picked this up open boxed which dropped it low enough to fit my budget. I was worried it might have issues or be beat up but after a very deep inspection inside and out, this looks brand new. I only have a few gripes which are more on Razor than Best Buy.
1. Ram is locked at 2666 right now until a new bios is realized to enable xmp. My 2018 Razor had this enabled so kind of a downgrade for them to reduce the speed.
2. Battery life of course sucks, Razor should come up with a way to disable battery overcharge to increase life. Most people will always use this with the charge for max power but would be nice to run off battery from time to time. Razor battery bloat is real and has been a problem in their line for a long time.
3. WiFi channel issues, this is due to how Razor ran the antenna you may get screen flicker on certain channels. Annoying but the work around is to change channels until you find one that will work for your setup area. For the cost of this laptop this shouldn’t be an issue in the first place.
Since this is a very premium and expensive laptop do your own research, overall I love this laptop but there are weird issues that were not a problem in my older model but are in this 2021 version.

I bought this in the fall of 2021. I needed a machine powerful enough for software development and PC gaming. This fit, though I might have chosen a slightly lower end model if we hadn't been in the tech shortage.
What I like about it is that the RTX 3080 mobile GPU is powerful enough to play games at 4k and the machine's screen is 4k OLED 60 Hz touch panel. This laptop is pricier than the 3070 models they had BUT the screen is of such a quality that I can use it as a portable TV.
Also, Razer made this laptop upgradeable, a sadly rare feature today (*cough* Apple). I swapped out the included 32GB RAM for a 64GB kit and was able to add a second Nvme ssd bringing total storage from 1TB to 3TB.
A drawback to this model is that it is Intel 11th gen and draws a lot of power. If I had been able to wait until early '22 I could have gotten a 12th gen model w/3080 Ti.
No regrets. This machine is used for gaming & entertainment by me away from home and by my kids for school and fun at home. We'll make use of it for a long time.

Power gives Heat to this laptop

This system is great for most considerations, it has a loud sound system, excellent graphics and response time. I was not a fan of the keyboard, but I am used to mechanical, so the squishy feel really didn't appeal to me. I was disappointed in the cooling system that is used, everything got extremely hot with the additional monitor and type of work / gaming that I do. If you aren't stressing the system to the extreme end of graphics processing and computing power, it works well. The battery life has a rather short timeframe, but that is to be expected with this kind of graphics and processing power. I definitely recommend this system, but if you buy it, do plan on having some kind of cooling pad or lift system to keep the fans on the underside of the laptop having plenty of airflow. I don't know who in engineering though that the main fans on the bottom of the system was a good idea, you will burn yourself if you don't have something to shield your flesh.

Very good build quality being an aluminum chassis. It is very thin for the performance it has. One of the thinnest. This is the best that razer has to offer for the 15 inch. Although there are caveats to this laptop that leave me wondering if a downgrade is in order. To start, yes, the OLED is marvelous but capped at 60 fps. And that makes this ultra fast computer feel sluggish. The OLED is calibrated from the factory. And what they fail to tell you is that profile is unique to your screen. You lose it through driver update and your screen isnt calibrated anymore. I managed after 2 weeks f looking found the file on my partition. But the colors are now to saturated and the brightness really isnt there. 604 nits looks dimmer than my MSI's 144 at like 400 nits. But the clarity and contrast are top notch when profile set. Another major caveat, which isnt razers fault, is that the 11th Gen and on Intel processors lack SGX. Meaning you cant use ULTRA 4k Blue Ray and watch them. So streaming or ripping to a new media is only option. Really the main thing that makes me want to return this is the ow refresh rate. Not sure i can deal with anything less than 90. Another thing to consider is that the 3080 is only a 105w TDP. Meaning its not the fastest of the 3080 bunch.. Still games @ 4k Max settings GTA online @ 60... RDR 4k max 34 fps..... The keyboard is very weird.. Some letters are noticably higher or lower than the letter next to it. And for some reason my hand always ahits caps lock when im trying to type A.. and in a WASD game its not fun.

Beast of a machine with a minor flaw

Giving it only 4 stars. So far this thing has been a beast of a laptop. My only complaint is that every so often the laptop crashes and restarts. Not sure if it’s a software thing. But in terms of specs, graphics are great and since I moved away for school, having an OLED screen is really great since I had an LG OLED C9 TV back home. Charger is a bit heavy and EXPENSIVE. For a gaming laptop, the weight is pretty light.

Beastly performance on this thin laptop, and the screen is GORGEOUS. Unfortunately performance is not everything. Most significantly, I've been getting generic blue screen crashes claiming "A fatal hardware error has occurred." I'm hoping a driver update takes care of this as the hardware is very new. Additionally, when used with the Razer thunderbolt dock, I'm not able to use my high refresh monitor above 60 hz (Works with a Macbook Pro just fine). Finally, battery life using the iGPU is at max 5 hours, more likely around 4. This is ok, but I would have liked better.
Overall, this is a striking, powerful laptop, but too many issues mar the picture.

This machine does it all! The 4k screen is gorgeous, with plenty of power under the hood. Sleek design that doesn't sacrifice port selection. Battery drains quickly when gaming on ultra-high settings, to be expected. Highly recommend to content creators and gamers alike.

If you are looking for the best performance money can buy, this is it.
Some positives:
Battery: I get about 7 hours when I'm just using it for Office, email, Internet, and watching videos. I always have it plugged in for gaming so I can't comment on that.
Speed: The best performance by far.
Temperature: When using it for standard work, if maintains a cool temperature of around 45C even when sitting directly on a desk. When gaming, in order to maintain a cool temperature, a stand is a requirement. Without a stand, the temperature is around 90C, but with a stand (and not a cooling pad), the temperature when gaming is around 65C.
Fan: Noise is on par with any other gaming laptop.
Screen: Beautiful 4K OLED which is what you would expect.
As with positives, there are always negatives:
Screen: There is major glare so it is basically unusable when the sun is shining on it. I don't know if that is a design flaw or just the fact that it is an OLED. The 4K is great, but it makes everything including text very small using the standard settings. Not a problem but it takes getting used to and is personal preference.
Keyboard: Not the best but ok after you get used to it. The touch pad is bad and not at all sensitive enough even on the most sensitive setting so I find myself having to tap it rather hard. There are no dedicated Home, End, Page Up/Down keys but the Fn + Arrow keys do the job instead. I wish that was documented.
Now the really bad news. I had the laptop for only a month and had two major problems. The keyboard stopped working and a BIOS update broke the video. I have never dealt with worse customer service than with Razer, about the worst in the industry. Called them about this and they were not able to help me other than suggest I dispose of it and buy another model directly from them instead of through a retailer. Best Buy was great and let me exchange it for another one after a month of owning it. So far I have had the second one for several months and it has been problem free.
This should have been 5 stars but I am deducting one star because of having two unrelated problems within the first month, and for their horrible customer service not being able to fix it and suggesting I dispose of a new $3400 laptop and buy one from them.

My favorite Windows Laptop I have owned. I just came off of an XPS15 with all the bells and whistles, and it was a wonderful machine. This laptop, however, really is a much better fit for the things I use it for daily. Yes, it is expensive, but worth it for the work I do.
As a professional photographer and designer, I am in love with the screen. It is the best in a laptop I have used on a windows platform. The brightness and colors are perfect, and I don't have any issues when things go to print as can often be the case. I forget it is a touch screen and am very happy with the battery life considering that.
The other main advantage over the XPS15 is the ports. I know USB-A is seemingly dead, but there are still plenty of peripherals that require it. Also, the integrated HDMI is better for presentations and using a second screen than having to carry a dongle around.
The keyboard is pretty good considering the design. I have had a better keyboard on an expensive Precision machine, but this one has nice response and good spacing.
Gaming is pretty good on the unit but just remember the refresh rate on this spec is only 60HZ, so if you are looking for the ultimate machine for gaming, might look at a different spec.
The on-board sound is OK, but it is a laptop, so just don't expect anything mind blowing here.

This laptop has an amazing display, is very fast, and I am very glad that I got it. I use it for 3D modeling and rendering and it works very well. The biggest problem is the battery life. It loses like 2% a minute off of power if the screen is on. If the laptop is asleep it makes it like an hour and a half. I'm always using it at a desk connected to a second monitor though so this doesn't cause any problems there.

I have never hated a laptop the way I hated this one. Form factor is pretty standard. But the cooling is terrible and that’s with both cpu and gpu being near the lowest edge of their possible tdp (to the point you can’t undervolt the cpu and instead have to limit the turbo boost to prevent thermal throttling). Did I mention that the low tdp makes the laptop less powerful then something comparable one with similar specs by that allows for full tdp by a whopping 20%? Yeah, it basically makes the 3080 a 2060.
Razer also claimed this model can update to windows 11. That it was tested by them as being able to update. They lied. You can’t update to windows 11 on this model because of a driver issue with the microphone that requires Razer to produce a OEM driver that fixes the issue. They have yet to release this needed driver and don’t give an ETA on when it will be fixed. So if you want Windows 11, you have to disable and uninstall your microphone driver which will disable the microphone. Every other major gaming laptop manufacturer has resolved this issue and their laptops can upgrade.
2 stars because the screen is a great, but only 60hrz.
I returned it for a laptop that actually does get supported by its company.

Beautiful Display with GPU Problems

I've tried this laptop twice and it has a beautiful display, but both laptops had problems out of the box. The first laptop had problems whenever I would launch Nvidia GeForce. As soon as I would open GeForce the computer would slow way down and get glitchy. I would click on something and it would take around 5 seconds for the computer to register the click. I uninstalled GeForce a couple times, and even reinstalled windows, but nothing worked. I returned the computer and waited a couple of weeks and then reordered the computer again to see if maybe I had just received a lemon.
The second one I received had the same problem with GeForce as the first one did, along with restarting issues and the screen would not dim. Everytime I needed to restart the computer for an update the laptop would restart and then the keyboard lights would come on but the display would not come on, it would just stay dark. I would have to hold the power button down and do a hard reboot to get it to restart. The display brightness would also not dim. The display is beautiful, but when working in a darker setting the display was so bright it would hurt my eyes and start to give me a headache. I'm not sure if this is a Windows issue or not, but all drivers were updated and I even looked online and tried all the fixes I could find, but nothing worked. I made sure all of my driver's were up to date and even reinstalled windows again, but nothing fixed the issues above. So sadly I had to return it a second time.
I know Razer can make a good laptop as my daughter has a 2020 Razer Blade 15 Base 2060 model that has worked flawlessly for the last year for gaming, video editing, school work, and streaming. The problem is that Razer has QC problems so you have to make sure and look everything over closely when you first purchase a laptop to make sure you don't get stuck with a lemon. For this reason alone your best bet when buying a Razer is to buy it from Best Buy, Amazon, or the Microsoft store so you can return easily and get your money back quickly in the event you have problems and need to do a return.
