Straight from the box, the laptop feels premium. Beautiful metal chassis and has one of the best build quality among gaming laptops. It runs most games with ease but can be toasty to the touch. A cooling stand/pad should alleviate most concerns. The OLED 4K screen was a huge plus - the display was crisp and color accurate, which was what I needed for photo editing work. 6 months in however, the laptop started to have BSODs. This is when the issues started coming in. It would automatically shut down regardless of what you were doing on the laptop. After weeks of trying to figure out the problem, I came to the conclusion that the stock SSD was failing. How it started failing only a few months after purchase is beyond me. It was a hassle to pinpoint the problem, not to mention buying a new SSD (adding onto the premium of what this laptop originally cost). This was an expensive laptop and I expected more from it. I spent more money on top of the original price just to supplement and support it, when most of these things should have been a given. Maybe I got a defective unit, who knows. I would have recommend the laptop, if not for the issues I encountered.

    Performance and Screen are amazing

This computer is a monster. I do video editing and photo editing and this thing is a beast. The 4K screen is awesome. I did a side by side comparison with my friend's macbook and my screen delivered better blacks and a more accurate color space! As for performance, this model comes with 16GB of Ram, but is SUPER uprgradable - upgradeable to 64GB. I bought 2 32 GB Ram cards and installed them myself (basically plug and play) and now this thing is even better! It's the best value. The models with the better RAM are quite more expensive. So, it's definitely the way to go if you don't need a 1TB SSD. I have the 500GB SSD and it's plenty of room (especially since I do most of my video editing on external hard drives). The one improvement that could be made is that the keyboard action feels a little cheap. I love the ThinkPad keyboards and this is definitely not that. You still get the colors Razer is known for on the keyboard, but the action stinks. And, there's a typo on the keyboard...the "+" and "=" button (same button just uses the shift key to switch) lists those symbols upside down. The + is on the bottom but should be on the top because the shift key is required. And, the = is on top (but should be on the bottom). It was a little confusing at first and (TBH) on a laptop this expensive there shouldn't be anything so blatantly obvious, but not a deal breaker by any means. Ultimately, great laptop, especially if you upgrade the RAM. The screen is GORGEOUS. The keyboard is the one weak spot on this whole rig. Oh, and the battery life is not very long. But, I didn't expect it to be because of all the power this thing must consume. I got this to do my video editing in cafes that have outlets. If you live in LA or NYC or bigger cities where the cafes don't offer plugs, you will need to bring a charging port.

I really wanted to like this laptop. There's so much that's good with it. Let's start with the Pros: -The CNC Unibody design feels superb and premium. I personally think it looks far better in Silver than it's Black alternative. It leaves less noticeable fingerprints too. -The 4K OLED display. Definitely the star of the show. Once you go OLED you can't go back. This is arguably the best display on a laptop for viewing experiences. Crisp, bright and vibrant this laptop display is far better than my replacement Alienware's. It's only 60HZ but once you view it for yourself it'll be a non-issue. Losing this display was an agonizing downgrade for me. Note: Colors change slightly under different brightness settings; perhaps not the best for content creators. -The trackpad is one that I greatly enjoyed. Nice, big, responsive and easy with gestures. -Playback sound is pretty decent. An upgrade from my old "Beats" branded HP Envy. Cons: -The HEAT. Wow does this laptop get hot. And not just while gaming. The ventilation is just not enough. I worry about the longevity of this product. Undervolting doesn't make a difference. The metal chassis, particularly above the keyboard/below the screen absorbs a lot of heat. -Not only does this laptop get hot but it gets loud. Again, not just while gaming but when browsing the internet or video playback. Anytime the CPU runs a process you can hear it. -The keyboard. The RGB lighting is decent but not particularly vibrant (you get locked out of full RGB features that are offered only on the Advanced models). The keys themselves feel unsatisfying to type on. Very mushy. The keycaps are glossy and get dirty easily. -GPU throttling. Don't get me wrong, the 8GB RTX 2070 max-q performs admirably, but after about an hour or more of gaming (after generating significant heat) you will get some dropped frames infrequently. Not a dealbreaker for the single player games that I play, but could be for others. Also, this is probably more of Nvidia's fault than the laptops, but Nvidia optimus has a lot of issues in recognizing the GPU. -Just a personal experience: initial setup was a nightmare. Windows never loaded and kept getting stuck. I had to restart multiple times. The setup finally went through and I experienced no OS issues after that, but the initial boot-up was a terrible day-consuming experience. Again, probably more of a Microsoft/Windows issue than a Razer one. Bottom Line: If you want a vibrant 4K OLED screen and can get this laptop for a good price, definitely go for it. The build quality is superb and the laptop looks professional. The screen is the best laptop screen I have ever seen. If you are a hardcore gamer or a power user I suggest you look somewhere else, the issues will probably limit the longevity. It's hard to recommend this over similarly priced RTX 3070 options. But that screen tho.

PROS - Beautiful screen. Honestly, probably the best OLED screen I've seen on a laptop, especially at this price point. It can get bright. Great contrast with vivid colors. - Benchmarks consistently beat baseline averages on all tests. - I know some mention heat issues, but I've had no such issues using this in a typical home/office setting. - Cool lighting system. - Large, high-quality touchpad. - Top-notch metal construction with a classic understated design. CONS - Fans are a bit louder than average, but by no means obnoxious. Use headphones anyway, so not an issue for me, but still worth mentioning. - Glare could be an issue if you are in a heavily lighted area. OVERALL Got this on sale for $1,899. For that price and the specs, which overachieve, this is a fantastic laptop with a flat out gorgeous screen.

This was the highest spec'd laptop I could get in a light form at a reasonable price and is an excellent value for the powerful graphics card and processor inside a laptop. It does get quite hot if you're using the graphics/cpu intensely even with the fans running, but that's to be expected. I didn't like that undervolting the CPU is disabled by the BIOS as I had hoped to extend the battery life and make it a bit cooler that way. The battery life isn't great--about 5-6 hours on integrated graphics or 4-5 when it's being used heavily. If you get a Macbook Pro 16", it'll be more 50% more expensive for a much weaker graphics card and without the ability to upgrade the RAM or SSD. If you get the Dell XPS 15 maxed out, you can't get as good a graphics card. I'm using it as my primary programming laptop and wanted upgradeable RAM/SSD for later.

    Razor versus surface book 3

The laptop is a beautiful laptop I returned my surface book 3 for this laptop. It provides more horsepower and a much better screen. My only Negative things to say about this laptop is that the battery life is only 5 to 6 hours at best. It gets really hot in the upper keyboard area when gaming. But even with hard-core gaming the fans are barely noticeable. And did I mention the screen is beautiful

I bought this laptop a couple of weeks ago. So far is has been a great purchase. The screen is crisp and clear and I haven't had a problem playing any of my games. And as some may expect, the build quality is top notch. I have only 3 complaints, though one of them is probably more personal preference but I'm sure others agree. First, the screen, while amazing, does have a glare issue if your light source is at a certain angle. I play a lot in my semi truck and have to have my curtain closed if I'm playing up front. Second is that this sucker get HOT. Internally I haven't gone over 91c, but the body, particularly the keyboard and palm rests get to a point where I start considering trying to cook eggs on it. And third, maybe this just a personal gripe, but the keyboard just doesn't feel right. I miss having the number pad on the right and the arrow keys design just doesn't feel right. But over all a really great gaming laptop.

This is a beautiful device with excellent build quality and good specs, price wise it is on the higher end for its specs but especially on sale its a very fair deal Pros -Beautiful oled screen -good power for gaming -Thunderbolt -Great io for the form factor -mercury white finish doesn’t attract fingerprints like the black finish on other razer devices Cons -Battery life (I get 2-3 watching videos and 4-5 when just browsing the internet or) other light tasks -Resolution, While I’m in love with the vivid oled panel the resolution on a screen this small is a waste and causes me to render games at a lower non native resolution to get good frame rates -

If you can get this on sale or open box then it is a great deal which I was able to do. The first thing I noticed when I powered it on was the screen quality, it was exceptional, clear and crisp. Amazing to look at and when I loaded programs things just seem to fly with it. The other nice feature is that you can upgrade the 2 ram memory slots and SSD which a lot of other manufacturers do not allow. I prefer the mercury white as appose to the black version as the black version is a finger print magnet. Picks up every bit of grease or finger print you leave on it and is not easily to wipe off. The other feature I like is the RGB keyboard. You can customize the lighting on the keyboard. It looks fantastic when you are gaming. Overall a good buy if you are in the market now given how hard it is to obtain a standard video card for a desktop PC.

This was a good laptop, don't get me wrong. I was planning to keep it for a long time, but the problem I had with it was that it got way too hot. Also, the air intake at the bottom seemed like it didn't like to be anywhere except a cooling pad. I get all of that if I am playing a game or doing something heavy on the CPU or GPU but this was even when watching netflix or something.. I guess that was the hard part, trying to get use to that. I mostly just use my laptop for watching shows and surfing the web, but I really like to play games too. This laptop did amazing with the games. Even though people will say the graphic card isn't strong enough to run 4k, it is if you properly undervolt the cpu and gpu. Razer actually undervolts these by default, but it is good to undervolt it some more because the heat can damage it over long periods of time. Then again, they are made to withstand this, but still, I felt better keeping it cool, which is what I did. I hated to even get rid of this thing because of the excellent build quality. It felt just like a macbook pro but better because of the keyboard and the BRIGHT backlight. In the end, the g15 was just a better fit for me.

Obviously Razer makes great premium laptops that always cost more than similarly specced laptops so when i saw the price on this, i bought it immediately. I was looking primarily for a portable gaming and video production laptop. Build quality is very Apple-like in its unibody aluminum chassis. Keyboard is meh. Bit too short of travel on the keys for my taste. The i7 is fine and will handle gaming and production just fine but dont expect Ryzen performance. I am stuck with intel until USB4 or Thunderbolt comes to Ryzen laptops. The RTX 2070 (max q, low watt gpu variant) is plenty of horsepower that compares to a 3060 level of performance and is capable of handling most games. So if the build quality, CPU, and GPU are great why the low marks? The OLED screen. While it is vibrant and beautiful when consuming media, this is not a gaming screen for multiple reasons. I knew going into the purchase that the 2070 max q was not able to run games well natively but figured between the excellent DLSS and low settings I could get 30FPS at least in more demanding games. I was able to get "playable" but not ideal performance but the screen ruined any gaming attempt as it does not include any adaptive sync (Gsync, freesync) so you are forced to use V Sync which puts an additional significant strain on performance. If you are buying this for even light gaming, beware, you are in for either a screen tear mess or low performance with V Sync. I also had an issue where the screen would randomly flicker and turn off momentarily. I returned this item and I am waiting on a 2060 model with 144hz adaptive sync screen. I would recommend the same.

This was on sale for $900 off, then I chose an open box/like new/excellent and I paid $969 with tax. First, I installed Windows 11 because I like it. Then an extra 1TB M.2 to boost the storage. The OLED is amazing. Once you've seen it you won't want an LED. I play at 60fps so the refresh rate on this is fine for me. And the OLED is unreal. This guy is hot. No other way to put it. The fans are loud. So if your going to use this for gaming, headphones and a cooling pad are a must. The fans are silent and the temps are cool when doing desktop work. The finish is very premium and it feels like a solid laptop. I play Destiny 2 at 1440 and get 60 frames. Warzone I had to tweak the quality and drop to 1080p. The Nvidia DLSS helped smooth things out. Did I mention the screen? The OLED..omg

Pretty solid laptop, not just for gaming. The screen is incredible, thanks to the OLED panel, keyboard is bright and configurable, build quality is solid and should hold up well over time. The SSD and RAM are easily swappable. Speakers are tinny sounding and battery life can be a struggle if you don't optimize it extremely well. There were some driver issues at first, but general troubleshooting fixed them for the most part. Unless battery life is extremely important, or you need good laptop speakers, I'd strongly recommend this laptop for gaming, as well for content creators and college students.

I was looking for a well-built laptop for media consumption. The aluminum chassis and 4K OLED did not disappoint. I did not buy the laptop for heavy workloads and I read many reviews of high-end laptop all pointing of the deficiencies of mobile Intel CPUs. So thermals and noise were my major concern. Unfortunately, having used the laptop for a week, I can confer with all reviews lamenting it for high temperature and noise. The CPU is the culprit as it boosts to 5 GHz. This boost is noticeable even in short browsing sessions, the fans will ramp-up quickly and the chassis will heat up over 80 C. This was disappointing but going into the BIOS and disabling Intel boost solved this issue. Now the CPU is maxed at 2.6 GHz and temperature hovers around 70 in stress test and fans are not spinning hard. I gave the laptop 5-star given the build quality and the price (I got an open open model). I would have paid twice for a recent AMD RTX30 laptop. I expected to have issues with the CPU and on one hand it is disappointing that it does not live to its promise but on the other hand I feel that boosting to 5 Ghz given the CPU thermal profile is a bad idea.

Poor Battery Life & Inconsistent Color Accuracy

I was very excited to get this laptop for a very good open box deal. The build quality is excellent! The 4K OLED screen is a eye candy. Touchpad is one of the best on Windows laptop. The overall feel of the laptop is simply great!! But unfortunately, I faced very poor battery life. I primarily used the laptop for photo processing/editing, watching videos and web surfing on the go. For the purpose I needed the battery to last for at least 6-7 hours. But I was getting only 3-4 hours with the power mode set to 'better battery' & screen brightness to 50% & key lights disabled. The screen is very reflective outdoors. The screen colors also change as we increase/decrease the brightness, which makes life difficult for image editing. Finally I had to return the laptop (with a heavy heart) as I could not live with the shortcomings. But this is a great laptop for anyone who do not care about battery life, don't require color accuracy & will use it indoors.

...what a treat staring at this OLED display on my new Razer Blade laptop. Build quality is excellent and hopefully any future issues, if any, are handled properly by Razer! Thanks to Best Buy on an excellent sale which meant I just couldn’t pass it up! Because if anyone knows me knows I definitely don’t need another laptop...lol. But this is my second Razer Blade LT from BB. A 2018 advance model and I have had zero issues! Also upgraded to a second SSD and RAM is on the way. This really is a fun laptop and I don’t think you’ll regret it... and the mercury white is definitely different and nice! Thanks for reading my review!

I purchased 2 of these laptops open box when they were on sale giving the open box an even bigger discount. No brainer Colors on the screen are top notch. They are vivid and true. The blacks are actually black with no screen bleed. The keyboard is great. I like the white keys over the black keys. The backlit keyboard shines even and bright throughout the whole keyboard. The laptops construction is what I would expect from Razer - solid, no flex, great hinges on the screen, best touchpad by far, good key travel. Being silver, this model is forgiving when it comes to showing fingerprints. I own the Stealth 13 and the black has to be cleaned constantly. This will only show fingerprints if you decide to poke the glossy screen...... As others have mentioned, the laptop does get warm. The chassis is aluminum so after gaming for a while your wrist will feel the heat. I haven't had an issue with thermals. I do use Throttlestop - check speed shift - EPP and under TPL set the max boost to 39 (3900mhz). With this the fans are much quieter. The frame loss in games is absolutely minimal. After making these changes the CPU hangs between 77c and 82c gaming for extended periods of time. Laptop accepts a second m.2 drive. Excellent feature Cons - although the screen is absolutely amazing - the glossy finish makes the laptop difficult to use in a room with windows or bright overhead lights. Just a FYI Power cord is silly. Its stiff and like my other razer and a PIA to maneuver around the desk Overall, I love the laptops

One of the better creative focused "gaming" machines I've seen. On Sale this is a great deal, I outfitted mine with 64gb of ram and added 2TB to the extra M2 slot. The machine is just purring and that screen looks so, so good. It's only 60hz refresh but that 4k HDR in OLED looks so good. If I want high framerate I'll hook up this 2070 machine to an external monitor.
