I bought this headset per request of a friend, but once I got home with it, it took me over an hour and then some trying to set it up. The program you download has no settings to fix the mic. It only focuses on the surround sound feature. The sound isn't even that good. If anything it's more of a muffled surround sound. The mic would cut off on me when I'm speaking, but pick up every mouse click and occasional typing. Only way people can hear everything I am saying is if I practically yelled or spoke very slowly. I tried looking to see if I can get a solution to the problem online and each one had the same useless answers. First time I bought a headset, and returned it the next day.

Love my Razer - Kraken Pro Analog Gaming Headset - Green . Just got it for Christmas to replace my broke Turtle Beach Ear Force Z2 and love the quality and sound and free upgrade to Pro.Much stronger looking than my Turtle Beach Ear Force Z2 so shouldn't break like they did.Love the retractable Mic, not in the way when I don't need it.Sounds awesome .

Great sound at a very good price. These headphones easily keep up with higher priced units and don't require a great deal of set up. Comfortable for long gaming sessions and the retractable mic is a surprisingly great idea!!

I usually read reviews before buying headphones/headsets but did not before this purchase. These are made of plastic, are uncomfortable and sound terrible.. Muffled sound. I bought them, took them home and listened to them, tried to adjust EQ on my soundcard and ended up bringing them back the next day. I'm a studio engineer so I know sound. Not recommended.

So I bought these from the local bestbuy store, and I would have to say these are one of the best headsets I've ever used. I am an avid gamer, playing a few hours everyday and listening to music in between. They are extremely comfortable, it feels like im not even wearing them. Also the sound quality is truly awesome. I bought these when the free 7.1 surround sound promotion was out, and the software that allows you to have that (razer synapse)is really great, it includes an equalizer that allows you to get the perfect sound. i am completely ecstatic with this headset, only one problem i have is that the cord is kinda short, but that isnt a huge issue.

We didn't check reviews for this before we bought it, that was our mistake. When we could not get the mic to work right my son went and checked online and there were lots of problems with this head set, but you could buy a part or follow a youtube videoto try and correct it

Alright, I bought these as a replacement for the Razer Carcharias that broke on me. The build quality is astounding, very nice, much better than the carcharias. The sound quality for music is good but I also feel that overall the sound sounds muffled because it is more tuned to bass. The bass is good and overall the headset feels nice to wear. However, the headset fails at what it was meant to do, it may just be my laptop sound card but by using the splitter, i had to put the mic in my mouth for anyone to hear me and I had all my mic volumes boosted too! Tried many different things from uninstalling my drivers, installing different versions, nothing worked. I then tried this on a desktop and plugged it into a good sound card and it worked but for my laptop which I use primarily because I'm in college, it did not. this could all have been avoided if there was no splitter. I felt bad that I had to retake my Carcharias but may request a refund and buy the Razer Tiamat 2.2 as it is only $20 more and has 2 Subwoofer drivers. What Razer made here is a headset that can be worn around college as a nice pair of cans, but they forgot what they are, and that is a gamng peripheral company.

My 15 year old son bought these headphones to use with his Xbox One. They broke within a week and we returned them for a different set. He is not particularly hard on electronics - normal usage. Highly recommend buying the insurance.

Overall great headset. Going on gaming sessions 5 hours+ and still comfortable. The sounds are crystal clear. Only problem I had was the bass is too much (maybe because the headphones are snug on your ear for noise reduction), which is great when playing games but not so good when watching a video or listening to music (but you get use to it very quick which is good) although you can fix that with Razer surround.

These headphones lasted 2 months before the left ear shorted out and the right ear was crackely. Also the sound quality was only "decent" even when new.

    My Favorite Headphones

I love these headphones. They are very comfortable and I could and have worn them for hours without pain. The sound quality is great and the free Razer surround make it even better. I use these for gaming, music and youtube videos. The mic quality isn't the best so unless you absolutley need a microphone buy the regular one. They also look awesome.

Good quality with a terrible mic

The reviews were a big help and so I wish to aid your search as well. The quality is good - you will hear more in your music than some cheap $5 deal. There is good bass, but I wouldn't say it is overwhelming as others have. The lack of a volume control is a pain, you will have to flip out of whatever you are doing to adjust the volume control settings manually in the control panel. This can be countered if you have a keyboard with a volume setting button - but even on low these puppies are loud. They're good but I honestly wouldn't pay more than $40 for the headset. Another reviewer claimed, " I had to put the mic in my mouth for anyone to hear me and I had all my mic volumes boosted too," and is a pretty good answer. I have had a lot of people give me audio feedback and with the hardware settings maxed and then even software settings maxed, it's hard to be heard -- even if it's in your mouth. You won't be heard worth a cent without maxing all your settings. Lastly, that little 6 foot extend-o cord is a freaking miracle! You can leave the long cord in with the computer jack and reconnect it with ease if you ever wanted to take your headset to go. It's also nice as you can chill out on a couch far back and watch a movie or listen to music/continue skype while on a ps3/another platform. Heck, I even forget they're on as I can do a lot of stuff without needing to take them off and so I sometimes walk out of range -- ripping them off unpleasently. They survive so I guess they're durable for the month I have had them. The neon green isn't something I would be caught dead with, but you won't lose them in a messy area! In the end, buy a $20 pair with a mic and an extension cord and save yourself $40. Hope this helps /)

This is a beautiful headset. Not only is it beautiful but it feels amazing on my ears, and the quality of sound that comes with this headset is, to me, literally unheard of. I was so impressed with the quality of this. I would recommend getting the Razer Synapse for a better experience. 10/10
