    Decent Headset

The Razer Kraken Pro is a decent headset. But if you turn on the bass boost everyone in your chat (if you use a VoIP chat) hears what you hear. Which kind of takes out the fun of being able to enjoy the bass when you want. The bridge band that goes over your head starts to get uncomfortable after long use. The cushion around the ears are comfortable if you have smaller ears and I do like that the Krakens fold up so that you can store them away in a bag if you need too. I also like that if you want you can use them as a headset with your phone. Next time I'll spend the extra money though and get a pair of Astros.

Volume is kind of a problem.

My second headset since my turtle beach. They're very comfortable, they block out the background sound good, the only thing is, the volume. I've set up an equalizer, volume on full blast everywhere I can turn it up, and I've had earbuds louder than this. The sound is very muffled, they are very bass oriented. If you plan on playing games with them, get them for sure; but for music, no.

I would prefer Black or Blue Green is to out there for me but i do have to admit the quality of the product is not cheap and the quality of the sound it produce is really great. This product is better then Turtle Beach well anything and everything is better then turtle beach. You wont be disappointed by purchasing this product. and its actually really great that you can unplug it from ur pc and just plug it to you phone. It comes with a wire for your pc but you can unplug it from that and just plug it to your phone or any other devices

    Amazing Analog Headset

The Razer Kraken Pro is an interesting purchase; it sports a removable audio-only plug that comes with an adapter that you can leave in your PC for use with both Audio and Recording. Completely worth every penny. My only problem with the product doesn't come from the manufacturer: Best Buy only carries the green color in stock while you need to order online for the other colors.

    Durable with Insurance

My son uses the headphones 23/7 - not kidding. These things stand up to a lot of use and with the insurance I can replace them anytime without cost. We've been using Kraken for a couple years and usually need to use the insurance, but definitely worth it.

I recently had to take back my Razer Carcharias after the mic failed. At the store, the employee working the exchange desk informed me that this was the replacement model for the set that I had. I quickly pulled up the Best Buy website, and looked for reviews, and found nothing. I switched through a few review sites, reading what little could be found. There wasn't much, as this is headset was fairly recently released. Razer Claims that this is headset is the "Most comfortable gaming headset. ever." I happen to disagree. After using it for just a few hours, I realize this isn't even as comfortable as the set I just returned. My ears feel far more constricted, and far warmer. It feels as though I have a vice on my head, which for now, I would attribute to them being new. The second point which Razer tries to sell this headset on is its "powerful drivers for highest quality audio". Once again, this headset falls short of reaching the bar that was set by it's predecessor. This headset excels in have a really deep sound. I'm not entirely sold on the mid and high-tones exceeding the previous model, though it would be easier to make this call if I could hear them over the low tones. Personal complaints about this product would be the lack of in-line controls. Most headsets in this class have a way to adjust the volume to the headset, and mute the microphone. Probably my biggest complaint though is the fact that this headset has a 3.5mm combined plug (meaning the kind you would have on a phone) and you have to use the supplied adapter to connect it to your computer. This is a big issue, as it allows the output and input to share a common ground. Having this common ground translates to a lot of microphone echo, and in cases of 2 audio devices a bit of a hum in your headset. I don't disagree with them allowing the capability to use this headset with phones, and other mobile devices, as that is a trending portion of the market. I can't however figure out why they would choose to make that the standard plug, then have to adapt it to what it was purchased for, which is being a PC Gaming Headset. If you're reading this, do yourself a favor, look at the other products on the shelf, and just put this one back. It's a very regrettable purchase.

I'm very picky when it comes to headphones. These blew me away the moment I demoed them at best buy and ultimately lead to me buying them. It is a nice compliment for my new gaming laptop and Razer Naga. I'm telling you, Razer leads the way. Join the cult.

How it is good and how it is not so good

To me, I bought one of these pair of headset but then had to return it after a month. After buying another one with the warranty I had, I was excited to use it. When I used a Headset to USB adapter to use it for my PS3, I was unhappy on how these were not noise cancelling. Whenever someone online would talk, they would hear themselves and complain about me. I even put 10 layers of tape on each side of the headset to make sure sound wouldn't escape, but sadly, it did. I recommend to get this if you are a PC gamer since they rarely do echo on PC.

The sound of the headphones are great, as well as the microphone. I talk with friends through discord, and it is picked up perfectly. The free surround sound given by Razer is also a very nice bonus.

This headset has great directional sound. The Razer has included their 7.1 surround program which allows for customization of the direction you're hearing the sound.

great sound the cooler is of the hook and I like how there is almost no tangle in the cable and not that many inputs because it has the 3.5 mm input and you can hide the mic so can use it as regular headphones

    Don't buy

I got this because I had heard so many good things about Razer products these are very comfortable head phones the sound quality is good if you don't mind the base being over powering. However the mic is complete trash it has so much static you cant hear you own voice over it when in listen mode I turned on my sound cards noise suppression to fix it and it did but then my voice was so low that the people I game with could not hear a word I was saying after I maxed out my mic boost they could hear me if they strained this was on that was only with out them playing a game the ones that were playing couldn't hear me at all. For a company with such a good reputation in the gaming industry this headset is a disgrace. I've had $10 headsets that had a better mic do not buy this if you need a mic you will be upset
