Posted .We would like you to know that independent 3rd party labs and the top cellular carriers have extensively tested and validated that Reach Case improves signal strength by up to 3X. This often (but not always) results is more “bars” on your phone. The relatively broad “scale” of the bars will not show increases in reception that fall in between one “bar” indicator and the next. Your bars also update infrequently – you can refresh the display toggling airplane mode. For a more in depth analysis you can put your phone in Field Test Mode to see the signal strength in dBm.
Signal improvement can also be seen when you have the ability to make and hold calls in areas where you were previously unable to.
The best way to check performance is to compare the signal you have with a bare phone, to the signal you have with the case on and antenna extended. At no time did it make any difference in the signal strength. To verify if I was getting any benefit at all, I would often turn on Field Test Mode and not once did the signal strength change even one dB with the case on versus off. Perhaps the case doesn't work with T-Mobile's 700 MHz band 12. Disappointing.

Posted .We encourage our users to test the Reach Case for themselves, but here are some helpful hints for a better testing experience. Testing is best done while stationery (vs in a moving car) due to changing position or orientation relative to the tower and moving between cells. Also Signal Strength, even in Field Test Mode, updates infrequently – it could remain unchanged for many minutes. For real time comparison you can refresh the signal strength indicator by toggling airplane mode. If you do this you should see up to 3X improvement in signal strength between the bare phone and the when R79X is in the extended position.
