Fun platformer with smooth mechanics

I purchased ReCore on a whim after watching the trailer and I have to say, I'm quite glad I did. This is a fun platformer game with very smooth mechanics which makes it a pleasure to play. Add to that an exciting (if somewhat simple) battle system that really makes you feel powerful and a bunch of dungeons with varying degress of challenge and you've definitely got yourself a game that's worth playing. The game world is fairly large and is open world, and thanks to the fluid player movement and game mechanics it is pretty entertaining to just traverse the world even without the enemy battles or dungeons! The music also fits the theme and heightens the thrill of the battles. The only thing that holds me back from giving a full 5 stars is the fact that while the game starts off with a lot of interesting mechanics and fun battles, it doesn't really get any deeper as the game progresses... after the first hour or two you've unlocked pretty much all of the abilities you use for the entire rest of the game. While it certainly makes you feel agile and powerful, it's a shame there isn't any more growth throughout the rest of the game. Also, apart from the dungeons, the game is not particularly difficult or challenging, either. Still, ReCore was a load of fun to play and I found it to be a great value, especially considering the price. I highly recommend you give it a shot if you're looking for some smooth, enjoyable platforming!

Bought the digital version of the game, it is great! Little overly open world, but nice to have the freedom away from the main story.

Recore did have some kinks at first, such as a long loading times but they have fixed it up for the most part and I truly loved the game.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game for the first sections. The end section can get a little tedious, but overall I found it a fun game that is definitely worth the price.

I don’t even think the game is finished. After beating the game there were still empty slots and missing missions. Come on Microsoft at least finish games before you just throw them out to the market.
