It had been over two years since I’d purchased my fridge so it lasted a really long time. The new filter was a little hard to put in, I think it was more of a height problem (I’m pretty short). Lol It’s great to have good tasting water again. So much so I added “Buy replacement filter” to my To Do list for every 6 months. Well worth the price for how much water I drink!

I hate that GE these filters use RFID DRM to force you to overpay for the GE 'only' XWFE filters just like Ink Jet manufacturers do. I'm sure its to protect us from buying low quality filters. (sarcasm on high) They do work well, but about $50 each when not on sale. should be half that in my opinion.

Long service life

Our source water is of good quality with some hardness and very minor oft-taste. This filter makes certain we have very clear ice and water.
