Been using these filters for years. They help the city water taste better than straight out of the faucet. I tried using a knock off brand a year ago. It was a disaster. The filter didn’t fit correctly. Water everywhere. Back to OEM GE brand. Save a little money for yourself, use the Best Buy auto ship and save money off the buy one at a time price. You can also choose how often a new filter is shipped.

It does what it's supposed to! I always try to buy original replacements, since it removes more impurities from the water than non brand name filters. It easy to install, and do not forget to run at least a couple of gallons of water when you first install it.

Great quality, it's easy to install, lasts a long time

This rating is not really on the product self. It’s on Best Buy‘s delivery. I can’t tell if the package has been open multiple times or if it was just simply dropped down a large flight of stairs it’s beat up busted up crumpled up. Unacceptable. I could probably find this in better condition at a garage sale or secondhand store. I do recommend this item, but you better have it delivered to the store so that when you pick it up, you can be sure that you’re getting a new one.

Still a little too pricey even with Replenish program $40. Certified by 42, 53 and 401 with 50+ impurities filtered. Hopefully this filter doesn’t add anything to it and just filters. Also the texts on filter was blurry and I thought it was a knock off but the box was clear.

The OEM filter products seem to fit and work so much better than the off name filters I have purchased. This one was simple to install and easy to prime. No charcoal residue in my glass like I’ve found after using off name filters.

I find these filters, as recommend by the manufacturer, to be expensive. But luckily Best Buy price matches! Fits my GE refrigerator. If living in a high pollutant area, like SE TX, I'd recommend using another filter as well, like a Zero water filter. After testing my fridge water, there were still pollutants the GE filter doesn't get out. Although it helps, it doesn't get everything. But it's the filter that fits the fridge and is much better than nothing!

Needed to replace filter and wanted factory unit, not a generic one. felt water quality was important. Ice is clear and water tastes good. It does what I asked it to do. Easily installed. Only down side is that it is more costly. Hopefully I got what I paid for.

I am using this in our side by side GE refrigerator and it is working great. Water tastes much better and I replace ours after 6 months. The weight of the old unit when replacing is much heavier, which hopefully means that this has kept the harmful chemicals / metals in here instead of in our water. Easy to install and remove.

We order these a few times a year for our refrigerator's water/ice dispenser. These are the original OEM GE filters; they install easily, work seamlessly and provide months of filtration for our refrigerator. I tried the non-GE brand of filters and they just did not seal perfectly on the filter head; they did not spray water like some other reviewers have complained about, but over the course of a couple months, I would notice a few drips of water down the back wall of the refrigerator where this attaches. For the few extra dollars, these filters work out the best. But most importantly, these GE's have additional filtering capabilities that the generic ones do not, additional filtering capabilities that remove most of the stuff you want out. Plus, the recommended schedule to replace these is roughly 6 months or 300 gallons of filtered water, so over the course of a filter life, the money difference is negligible.

This GE filter is expensive but it does the job and lasts for 6 months. It is easy to change and our water tastes nice and clean. So no complaints but the price is high. There are other generic type filters but I am hesitant to use them.

Works as expected. Easy to order and install in my GE side-by-side refrigerator. The filtered water from the refrigerator taste good.

The water quality from this filter is very good. I used bottled water for the longest time, but got tired of all the half drunken water bottles scattered around my house. It was also terrible for the environment. So I decided to finally start using my water dispenser from the refrigerator. This water filter works great. It's kind of expensive, but the water tastes just like bottled water.

It's nice to get this on auto delivery. Authentic GE, quality product. Be careful about "too good to be true" prices on the auction sites... a lot of fake product out there..very happy to get a quality filter. Cost is a bit high, but hard to put a low price on clean water. Best buy is great.

Great filter, works perfect. Unlike many reviews i read there was no leaking, no breaking, it was easy to install. My local hardware store didn't have it in stock.

This GE MFW refrigerator filter works great. I would recommend it.

Water filter does a great job removing that city water taste in water and ice. I get a good six plus months of use before the water stream gets very slow. It is very easy to remove and replace.
