JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT THAT THE RESIDENT EVIL SERIES HAD ABOUT TO RUN ITS COURSE, THEY MANAGE TO BOUNCE BACK AND REVOLUTION GAMING HORROR GENRE AGAIN AND THIS TIME, ITS EVEN BETTER IN FIRST PERSON SHOOTER HORROR SURVIVAL GAMR ON THE PS4! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have been patiently awaiting a great horror game that has made you feel immersed. Resident Evil 7 swings back to its roots with critical thinking and a sense of genuine fear. Though it is a different approach with the first person aspect like the more recent installments, it's not short of a great story, tightened control scheme and giving you that feeling that something is waiting around the corner. The story was short (completed in roughly 10 hours) but for the added DLC and tough challenges for a completionist the game can set you back double the amount of time. Would definitely recommend.

RE7 brought the series back to horror and did so in an amazing way. The setting, characters, and story were very spooky!

Bought the VR at launch and have been waiting to have something to dive into. This is a full fledged triple A title that you can play start to finish in VR. I am not great with scary games but this is on another level with the VR, it's terrifying at times. If you don't feel like playing it in VR you can also switch to a regular play through at any time. This Resident Evil was very entertaining, great story, awesome controls and has replay value to speed runners. This title can be beaten in 8 hours or as little as 2.5 but it's a great play through I highly recommend it.

Love the RE series of games. Have so many memories of staying up late playing these games in the dark, the best way to play them IMO. Anyways, RE7 is awesome! Probably the best RE to date. And that's saying something. Highly recommended!

This iteration goes back to the survival horror aspect that resident evil started out as. It is more about exploring and hoping to survive than run and gun action. There are times where it is better to run or hide than to fight. Works with or without the PlayStation VR as well. The vr really makes this he shine with graphics and emersion. With the vr if something pops up in front of your character, it really looks like it's right in front of you.

I've only been playing the game for a little while but it's great so far. This is my first time playing any game in the series and I am really enjoying the story. It has puzzles that are relatively easy to solve once you find the required objects. The only downside is using the VR headset with this game gives me motion sickness. No other VR titles have so far. I think I'll try shorter intervals to get used to it and see if I can get over it.

I have been very weary on playing Resident Evil after they released the games following RE4. I personally didn't like the concepts. Then, this game was released and wow did they make a comeback! This game is great, though the only dislike I have is that it is in first person (personal preference). The sound effects, and the story line gets you hooked the minute you start playing. Best part, they really incorporated a lot of the old RE type puzzles, etc. into the game. I highly recommend whether you are an avid RE player, or brand new to the RE world.

Resident Evil Biohazard revitalized the Resident Evil series, and is a great predecessor to Resident Evil 8. Going back into the horror elements in a new deep way.

This is a good game on VR. The graphics are better on the regular version.

The Resident Evil video game series is one of the finest horror gaming experiences you can get on your modern games console. Pretty much every game in the series has been worth playing, for the atmosphere and for the intense experience. This game really brings Resident Evil up to date with a new feeling gameplay style (first person perspective this time), which makes everything more intense. Lots of references to classic horror movies, too! For the best experience, play this Playstation 4 game in the dark and put up the sound on your TV!

So I bought this game about 3 weeks ago, I've tried playing at least once a day and I think I've managed to get thru about 5 full minutes of gameplay. This game is freaky and scares me, I can't play it alone, which is embarrassing cuz I'm 33yo. On the real there's nothing to debate, this is Resident Evil back to the basics and it will scare the BeJesus out of you, which is what you want and would expect, no regrets just buy the game and if u got the VR, you're experience will be that much better but beware this game is scaryish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's a lot of fun to play, and a solid throwback to the Resident Evils of old. Pros: - Mostly fantastic graphics (lone exception: facial renderings are bad) - Very eerie environments - Just enough jump scares to keep you on your toes but not too many to cheapen the thrills - Good weapon variety - Not as much annoying backtracking as in past RE games - Very challenging "Madhouse" difficulty mode Cons: - It's short. Most gamers will be able to finish the game on Normal difficulty in 5-6 hours. - The game has a bit of an identity crisis. For the first act, it's a true throwback to RE1. Then for thirty minutes it turns into a Saw movie, and then the last act feels more sci-fi/action oriented. All-in-all this is a quality game and much better than the last few entrants into the RE series!

I have never never been scared of a game and never had an issue with trying to get from one section to another but this game keeps me on my toes and has a lot of jump-scares that always seem to get me I love this game

I can remember the first time I played Resident Evil... Creepy house, locked doors, puzzles... then it turned into a shooting game with what seemed unlimited ammo. I once had to restart an RE game because when I got to a boss fight I didn't have enough firepower. This new title brings me back to those days. It is creepy and puzzling and well put together. Now, pair that with VR and I don't even know what to say. The 3D in VR is amazing. I recommend this game to anyone to play with or without a VR. Buy it.

As a fan of the original Resident Evils from the 90s I have to say that this is a true return to form. The tension has returned, you can't go guns blazing, and the levels/puzzles are fun and well designed. The nature of the game encourages multiple playthroughs as you unlock new special items for beating the game certain ways. Definitely recommended.
