Great game! The story can be a little odd, one that is hard to take seriously, but the gameplay more than makes up for it. Great puzzles, enemies, locales, and weapons. If you like mature titles, you won't be let down. My girlfriend LOVES to watch this series. Plent of tension and horror as well as action this time around.

If you like 7, you'll like this game. If you don't, it's a tough sale. I happen to be the former. From my point of view, it's a great addition to the series. It has 7's first person controls and has heavy influence of 4. It still has a great horror aspect. The set pieces and design are stunning. The character and enemy designs are getting up there to more realism. That RE Engine is a beautiful thing. The music and sound design are top notch. The Dual Sense rumble is also something to consider. You really have to experience it to really feel what people are talking about. It really is something that is tough to describe. Though it's not without flaws. While still plenty playable; the handling and firing of some of the weapons can take time to get used to, at least compared to 7. Some of the enemies are more nimble than 7's so it can be a pain at times trying to shoot at them. Overall, I truly like this game and look forward to 9.

Great resident evil game. If you enjoyed resident evil 4 or 7 then this game is right up your alley. If you've never played resident evil 7 thats ok because the game has a video presentation to show you the events that transpired in 7. If you are good at first person shooters i would recommend starting on hardcore bot standard standard is really just a cake walk. I personally tried it on village of shadows difficulty which you unlock for beating the game but you also get it off the bat if you by the delux edition. If you go for village of shadow difficulty off the rip like i did make extra save points because there are times you might go into a fight well underprepared and you'll need to go back and gear up. The game looks great plays great and for the most part the story is great. I would reccomend this game to resident evil fans easily.

I loved Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, but Resident Evil Village blows it out of the water. The story is a bit longer, there is a greater variety of enemies, and there are more weapons. I love the weapon upgrade system, which is very reminiscent of RE4. The story is a bit out there, but I really like Ethan as a protagonist. As you progress through the story, you will see what an amazing father he is. The bonus mode Mercenaries was frustrating at first, but once you learn the layout of the stages and how to deal with certain enemies, it can be really fun to replay. Overall, Resident Evil Village is one of the best games in the series with great replay value thanks to New Game Plus, plenty of weapons to unlock with infinite ammo, and Mercenaries.

This is bias considering I grew up playing and enjoying the franchise. Haven’t finished it yet, but what I’ve played so far I’m having a blast. The RE engine does it again, the picture is so crisp and full of details. Gameplay seems great in my opinion, good mix of a tense atmosphere where I’m scared to take the next step and action/combat. Like I said, haven’t finished, great so far. I do recommend.

The last four Resident Evil games are absolute snacks. Short and satisfying tonally perfect snacks. RE VILLAGE has constant tension because of the setting, sound and inventory management. Elements that make RE games such a rush to play. Graphics on PS5 in 4K WITH HDR are gorgeous. I've played it with HDR disabled and it's still great to look at but the lighting change with HDR enabled is drastic, I mention this because if you're debating getting it on PS4 now because you don't have a PS5 yet, I would say WAIT and get it on PS5. Gameplay wise there's really no innovation. But I guess they're trying to keep the Ethan Winters games pretty cohesive. The puzzles aren't too difficult either, you will eventually find the solution for them, especially if you read the files in the game. This game is way more action oriented you're going up against a village full of bioweapons looking for your daughter. This is Taken: Biohazard. Story connects with 7 since it's a direct sequel. There's a long report in the main menu you can read to catch up on the events of 7. So you don't need to play 7 but I recommend that you do 7 is about the same length as Village and it's an awesome entry in the series. The boss bioweapons in this have pretty interesting origins and explanations. There's a super villain Sinister Six-ish vibe about them, they're each unique in their powers and are at odds with each other. Wish we'd gotten to see more interaction between them, even if it were through a vhs tape. The threat in this is ancient and powerful and thus makes it a must play game in the series and also because of its connection to the RE universe. Read those files! The game has tons of replayability, you can unlock weapons to start off with and unlimited ammo modifiers you can turn on and off for each.

RE7 with the DNA of RE4

The game itself is pretty darn good. It has a few issues, the horror from RE7 is completely gone, theres maybe one section in this game that might scare you the first time but its scripted. But the emphasis is much more on action, theres not a single moment that holds a candle to the horror sections or horror atmosphere on RE7. But this game does have some good European atmosphere and I love the snowy look of the village. The only parrt of this game I'm not a huge fan of is the last area of game(The Factory). I do wish we could see the characters we love again in a mainline Resident Evil game and I hope to see them in the next mainline entry. The case is good and better than than the regular case with Chris's face veside a werewolf. But the real beauty comes from that Best Buy exclusive steelbook case, so if you can get that I would go for that. This also comes with the DLC Trauma Pack and a game mode that will be released down the line.

Great game, if you like the series already you will enjoy this one. It takes alot of the best parts of previous entries and combines them. It also does tie alot of things together, and gives us a meaningful way towards a next installment. With a system very similar to 7 and 4 it has a good replay value and a good amount of content. There are parts that could have been better but overall it is a very beautiful and enjoyable game

Amazing. Not as scary as RE7 but I think capcom didn’t want it be as scary so it was more accessible to a wider audience. I’m kinda glad it’s not as scary. Some parts of 7 had me wanting to quit. It’s also has way more action and puzzles than RE7. If you liked RE7(I thought it was a masterpiece) then you probably will like RE8. I don’t think the extra DLC Trauma pack was with the extra $10 but the steelbook is really nice.

A truly genre defining experience, something the RE brand continues to provide which each addition to it. From the visuals, the complexity of the puzzles and the sheer ferocious nature, relentless as it is, of the game’s “on the edge of your seat” experience, this title will please the player in many ways. Most importantly, let us not be remiss, is the quality of the story being told, which is of true note. Simply put, this game begins its movement quickly and maintains itself, increasing its display of intent to a point of terrifying precision, ensuring the player will check their shoulders with every sound heard and jump at any flash of light around them. It is made of fear and is all too happy in sharing it with you. This only becomes more effective as it progresses. As it does, as you may expect, the player becomes more immersed. This title never deviates from it’s original intent: entrapping the audience in a deep and menacingly world filled with terror and dangers without number, forcing awe and fear upon its audience. Well done, RE devs. You have developed and created an excellent entry into this monumental franchise of video games.

This game was a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday. He and I played for 4 nights straight and what an experience! Beautiful graphics, gorgeous characters, and crazy plot! Best Resident Evil game by far! It was a masterpiece on all ends. It wasn’t scary or very difficult, but the sense of thriller suspense and references was breath taking.

I did really like this entry, it was kinda like a cross between re4 and re7. Personally I liked 4 better, but this was a BLAST and I wouldn’t miss it if you are on the fence. Also mercenaries mode is NOT what you might be thinking...it’s just single player fight through the waves (in case anyone had couch co op in mind).
