The new music is hard, going back to the original roots of the first release that had Dave Williams and "Bodies " & "Sinner." This CD is a MUST HAVE for all hard rock and metal fans. You will NOT be disappointed! I can't stop listening to it! I listen every morning and evening traveling to and from work (which I spend an hour in the car each way.) My favorite 3 songs started out as "Anytime, Anyplace", "Blindfold", and "Bleed With You". "Blindfold" is a bonus song at the end of the CD that is NOT listed as on this disk. However, the more I listened, the more I connected with "Low Crawl" & "Life of Misery." There is not a bad song on this disk and the hooks are very easy to become addicted to! Newly released on April 9, 2013, you can still get this CD while it's "new" on the market! :) Check out the 2013 tour dates here: https://www.facebook.com/drowningpool?fref=ts

I haven't really kept up with Drowning Pool since the old "Bodies" song which was pretty epic even if it was incredibly repetitive. Was just one of those awesome songs with a gnarly beat that kept you rocking and pumped. Heck, I didn't even know this album was coming out until I saw it next to the new Stone Sour CD and figured that I would give it a shot.
Now, I regret that I didn't try to stay caught up with the rest of Drowning Pool's music as this CD rocks. The beats aren't quite as hard as what I remember from "Bodies", but the music tends to flow a bit better. There's actually a bit of meaning with the lyrics and a couple of the songs give a slower tone to keep the CD from being completely hard rock. Little bit of Alternative never hurts.
Resilience keeps its heavy rock songs at the front and saves the slightly more mellow tracks for the finish. Have to say that "Bleed With You" is my favorite song. Just love it.
And at only $2 more, I had to pick up the deluxe version with the DVD. Two music videos from this album + about 10 studio recordings of different songs. Definitely worth it.
