Gotta say, this is one tough game but i enjoyed it a lot. I didn't like the game mechanics behind dying and having to start over. For me it always felt fresh but eventually i knew i didnt have the time to devote to pass it. It jsut takes too much time and I like my games with save features

You can’t save your progress. You’re forced to have your console in rest mode. The company behind the game also released a patch that deleted players progress permanently. Meaning you would have to play the whole thing over again. Some of it is pretty fun though, and very challenging.

Great game, thw box is perfect and there is no issue with the game playing at all. The game itself shouldn't be a part of this review. Nevertheless the game is increible, pushes you in ways you have never imagined and you can experience the DualSense in its full potential.

This is a game where you play until you can master how to navigate properly. There is no save feature unless you put your console to sleep mode. And you don't progress to the next level until you beat it fully without dying which can be hours.

The sound and graphics in the game are beautiful, but it’s too difficult for my play style. The fact that when you die you get sent back to the very beginning of the game with nothing but what you start off with gets old quick. RNG can make or break a run - and if you stop for the night and an update installs or power goes out you’re out of luck and have to start from the beginning again.
On the positive side this game lets you relive the 80’s playing an NES game, getting almost to the end - getting yelled at that it’s time for bed so you leave the system on so you can pick it up tomorrow but your dad walks by and see’s that you’re wasting energy and turns it off, forcing you to start all over again.

As far as "run based" games do Returnal finds itself up against stiff competition. Largely, I think the game succeeds on what it goes for but my biggest complaints are that there isn't enough variety to warrant the amount of hours you'll no doubt have to sink into the game before seeing the end.

The progression of new abilities and the next story details are paced super well.
On the one hand, it feels "slow", but you get a lot of skill within each stage of the story and gear before moving on to the next - and yet, it all cumulatively is useful.

Really enjoyed this game. Took me about 50 hours to complete the main story with the "secret" ending, it would add a bunch more time if I was to go back and complete all the trophies. Excellent use of audio, I would recommend playing with headphones.

I give it two stars for the graphics. If you are not a pro don’t bother, no saves, hard gameplay, I’m pretty good I got an hour in it at best. 7 hour game to best. Leave it on the shelf!!

Good graphics and combat. Just very hard and once you die you start over. Would of loved it if your game saved at points Felt tedious to keep going back and try to redo it. I eventually sold my game as it was bery frustrating

Returnal might be my favorite PS5 game aside from the great Demon's Souls, Ratchet & Clank & Spooder-mane Miles Morales.
The modifiable weapons, especially the Pylon gun & Hollowseeker,
are fun to use.
