I liked this movie because it had a lot of action and good graphics. There was also a bit of comedy in there that made the movie more than just action. It was a long time in between movies so it was hard to remember all that had happened in the last movies so a recap at the beginning would have been nice. Other than that the movie is definitely open for a sequel and it will be interesting to see what happens next.

    The best Pitch Black sequel

Pitch Black is one of the best sci-fi suspense thrillers ever made and gave rise to the Chronicles of Riddick sequel. For many fans like me, the live action sequel did not deliver the same level of intense mystery and suspense. The film "RIddick" returns to the original successful formula and provides a satisfying sequel to the original story. While some may criticize this effort as redundant, others who love the first installment, will welcome the return to Vin Diesel to his original role. The addition of renown sci-fi actress Katie Sackhoff as the character Dahl further enhances the drama.

If you like the Riddick series, then this is a welcome edition to the franchise. If you've never watched a Riddick movie this is not the best one to introduce yourself to the series. It follows a similar story line to Pitch Black and adds some information to move along the Necromonger plot introduced in Chronicles. Overall, it's a fun action sci-fi movie but not something that hasn't been seen before.

Great beginning with just Riddick as focal point. Kind of middles out when more characters are introduced and really expected certain actors to bring more to the movie (was anyone else a bit disappointed by Katie's performance?...besides, ya know.) But the extended ending should really blow Riddick fans out of the water, especially with the recent announcement of a sequel! *Vin Diesel dancing*

Nice addition to the Riddick Franchise

I've been a fan of the Riddick franchise since Pitch Black but was surprised at how long it took to make this sequel, and I was disappointed at the lack of details. There wasn't much about Riddick's past included and it certainly didn't do much to explain the "current" story arc. While I enjoyed the movie I could wish the writers had taken more time to better move the story line forward.

This is the third and last movie in the Riddick series (along with Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick). I bought the edition with the Director's Cut and watched that version rather than the theatrical release. The story line wasn't really what I thought it was going to be, though I didn't have any expectations as to that. The CGI was pretty cool. I did enjoy the world Riddick was in and where most of the movie took place. The ending left it open for a fourth movie (which would be awesome!). If you like science fiction, this is a good series to watch!

After a plethora of bad reviews for his last Riddick installment, Vin Diesel more than redeems himself with this latest addition to the series. Getting back to the basics of the original Pitch Black, this movie seems like a remake of the classic ..but that's what makes it good. I enjoyed this movie and have proudly added it to my colleciton of the other Riddick movies.

This was a good a show as the third chapter in the Richard B. Riddick saga. What they need to do now is actually find Furia and any other surviving members of that planet then go to war with the necromongers. It shows the strength of one man when emotion isn't part of the equation. Riddick also shows a type of honor when other honor their word. It shows he can be trusted.

Fantastic opening, then as the film moves along revealing how Riddick came to be where we started. Riddick learned and used the planet and resources to leave the planet and return to the systen that had put him where he was. Howerver, not enough about his return. I was alittle sad when he lost his dog - but understood. Excellent Movie and looking forward to the next.

Vin Diesel is once again the gravelly voiced anti-hero Riddick. He kicks, he punches, he slices. I liked the addition of Katie Sackhoff as a mercenary. I thought this was a good throwback to Pitch Black, but the build up took awhile to get to. Overall it was a good scifi/action flick.

While Chronicles of Riddick was a disappointing sequel to Pitch Black, Riddick is a different story. After all the work that went into funding it and putting it together, the creators were sure to deliver something worth watching. It returns to the roots and has a feel that is much more like Pitch Black. This is one that I am happy to include on my shelf!

So if you like Riddick, you know what to expect. it was nice to see the Riddick trilogy complete in real movie not cartoon. I liked the "dog" type character and the relationships that build. Of course it's always nice to see bad guys get what they deserve and who better to deal out "justice" than Riddick. I have no idea what people who are not Riddick fans will feel about this movie. Thank God Vin decided to do it. Can you imagine how horrible it woulda been if some one like Steven segal or Tom Cruise had been asked to do it!!

vin deisel is at it again as the wierd eyed lone warrior. with a wide variety of weapons at his disposal he kicks butt and saves the day for another group who would otherwise be destroyed on the aweful planet that they landed on. watch it in the dark, keep the popcorn handy. this is a pretty good one to enjoy. oh and yes he gets the girl in the end. awe.

I saw this movie when it was at the theaters. I liked it then, and I liked it when I bought the BD. Riddick fans will be pleased. For those who do not know Riddick, this can serve as a good introduction (although going back to 'Pitch Black' is advisable). I did want a continuation of the big space opera story line but this was a good movie as well.

I have watched all of the riddick films and this is not the best or the worse. Pitch black is the best and chronicles of riddick the worse. The only real problem is the pacing of the movie. It seems to tell multiple stories with not enough explanation of what is going on. Each story has its merits but a little more editing would have helped its pacing.

Similar in plot to Pitch Black, swapping the monsters that come out only in the dark to monsters that come out when it rains. Plus you meet the father of "Johns" from Pitch Black who is looking for answers on how and why his son died. The connection to part 2 is thin but if part 4 is made this sets that up and looks to put closure to part 2.

A pleasant surprise to see a continuation of the series of movies with Riddick , a personal favorite anti-hero, not equaled since the Predator movies. Vin Diesel adds more depth to the character in monolog scenes and plot elements for future films while dealing with a hostile primitive environment and of course "mercs". . .GOOD MOVIE

This is a great Blu-ray presentation of a terrifically fun movie. The character of Riddick is as important as any other character in the career of Vin Diesel, and this movie is a great return to form from the bloated, PG-13 Chronicles of Riddick. The Blu-ray is full of fantastic special features and a great unrated cut of the movie.

he plot, such as it is, is pretty straightforward. Years after The Chronicles of Riddick, our lead has been betrayed by the Necromonger Vaako (a fleeting appearance from Star Trek’s Karl Urban). Banged up and left for dead on a barren planet, Riddick slowly gets back into fighting shape, and in order to secure off-world transport he activates the emergency beacon at an abandoned outpost. There’s still a reward out for Riddick’s head, and two crews of bounty hunters come running.

I've noticed this is one of those movies, which you either love or hate. My husband and I enjoy the Riddick series of movies (although the 2nd one could have been better). This was a great ode to Pitch Black. I'm glad to have it on blu-ray. The plot doesn't take itself too seriously for a good mix of action and dark comedy.
