The mic was tight at first but then wouldn't stay up if you wanted to mute. The cords frayed easily and the sound started to get muffled and I'm not a marathon gamer. I ended up buying new brand.

Not a good upgrade

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these to upgrade from a turtle beach ear force recon 200 headset that I bought for $35 for Xbox gaming. I wanted to upgrade a few key things: sound and mic quality, lighter weight, and ear muffs not made of leather. I tried these for about a week before returning them and honestly the sound quality wasn't horrible but it wasn't as good as my old ones and the sound isolation on my old ones was much better than these. The mic was more sensitive than my old headset but it was actually too sensitive, my friends could hear a fan blowing when it was a little over 6 feet away from me. I honestly can't complain about the weight but it wasn't enough of an improvement to justify the downgrade in sound and mic quality. The ear muffs were good and thankfully not made of leather but I was able to find non-leather replacements for my old set and then returned these. The only other thing I can complain about is during the first week there was a few times where I plugged them in and they just didn't work for a few minutes until I plugged them in and unplugged them several times. Overall not a good upgrade and definitely not what I was expecting for the price. I'm happier with my old set with new ear muffs.

Mind you im an entry level gamer that plays 2-3 times a month and have not experienced higher dollar headsets but as far as im concerned it sounds fine. The reason for the negative review is the durability. I bought these headphones in october 2021. Since June of 2022 the microphone has not worked due to a short in the cable which is not due to any neglect. The cable is flat which makes it very prone to bends and i believe has caused the downfall of the mic. As stated above the headset had probably only been used between 30-40 times before it quit. Also as of october 2022 the joint where the mic connects has become loose. I guess i flipped it up and down to many times (maybe 10-12 times) and now it is very flimsy. All in all they were pretty great at first but went down hill quick. They look like new but simply cant perform. I bought a set of turtlebeach wireless to replace them with and will continue to do so in the future.
