Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about RiME's beautiful graphics and clever puzzles, frequently praising the game's art style and soothing soundtrack. However, some players reported issues with occasional performance dips and frame rate inconsistencies, particularly on the Switch version. Despite these technical concerns, many found the gameplay enjoyable and the story engaging.

Now, I've read a couple reviews that said "If you like Zelda, you'll love Rime!" And that's not entirely correct. It's more like, "if you like Ico you'll probably really enjoy Rime too!" It also seems people complain about it being slow paced but I for one enjoyed the puzzle solving without a monster tailing me. It's visually a beautiful game, the soundtrack is good but in the evening it easily can put me to sleep. Like I mentioned before, you can really take your time exploring the island and find the collectibles, do some puzzles and move on without feeling rushed. A very slight learning curve as you start the game as there is no explanation of how to manipulate objects or what the buttons do (until the world prompts you with the correct one). Movement is fluid, jumping and climbing is not frustrating and swimming is really easy. In the off chance you perish in the game, death resets are quick and painless, often resetting you to a spot feet from your misplaced jump. There is some lag still present after some patches, usually in spots where the camera is panned far out or during gameplay immediately after a cutscene.

Visually, Rime is very cool. It makes you feel like you're in an ancient civilization on the beach. You're completely alone except for a fox and a mysterious person with a red cape. Exploring is fun but there is not much interaction beyond that. It's a very tranquil game and I wish the graphics were a little better. In some areas the FPS was an issue but hopefully that can be fixed with a patch. All in all it was good not great.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband and was so excited for it I gave it to him early. He beat the new Zelda already, and from the early gameplay videos I saw I thought he would enjoy this game as well. Nope he did nothing but hate on it immediately. The game is far more simplistic than Zelda. There is no tutorial in the game. You kind of discover the controls as you move through the island and complete the different puzzles. Ultimately, it is not as difficult as Zelda, but I thouroughly enjoy the simplistic style of this game. I enjoy the puzzles and problem solving. Finally a frustrating game that is a massive stress reducer. Four stars because there is no really history or story given at the beginning of this game. For me, that is a little too goofy. They could have given the gamers something to go off of without revealing anything.

A by-the-numbers puzzle platformer that is a bit too thin on narrative and suffers from some performance issues on Switch but if you can look past that you will manage to have a lot of fun nonetheless.

I loved this game, the puzzles were fun and graphics pretty. This game sometimes lags slightly because I think it’s too much for the switch.

the successor to "journey" on PS3

remember that game journey? got high scores for being artistic? this is the same template. however this game is set in nature with animals and trees, water, and old ruins. journey didnt really make me excited to play. but this game called out to me much more. the best way to play this is on PC at 60FPS....however.. switch has a physical release that includes a 10$ mp3 code for the soundtrack (which is beautiful) and a 12 page booklet. rare too see booklets in games anymore! the inside of the case also has artwork. only issue on switch is the framerate. make sure to put the motion intropolation option on your TV to make it much nicer.

Ok Game - Was Expecting More Tutorial

I pre-ordered this and waited months to play. However, now that it is here, it's just ok. I haven't played the game too much, but spend 3 hours playing the first day. The graphics are ok, but not as beautiful and crips as I was expecting. The game feels a little under developed as far as storyline. I was expecting some sort of help or tutorial. You are left just on your own from the first second of game play to just sort of figure things out. Some sort of opening story would be helpful at least.

This game is fun but the switch version is not very smooth it runs very choppy and jerky. The company needs to provide an update to fix these problems if they can do that I'll give better rating. It seems to be a fun puzzle solving game with lots of mystery around the corner. All in all it's a fun game but runs bad on switch

Rime as a whole is a great game, fantastic story, beautiful graphics but suffers a lot from frame drops. The latters issue affects pretty much all plataforms so this is not a Nintendo Switch lack of power issue specially when you know there are bigger and better games out there (as Zelda ). There is a patch that alleviates some of the issues but does not cover all the framedrops or blurry textures so don't expect more support from the developers at this latter stage of the game's life. That being said if you find a good deal on this game it is indeed worth grabbing.

This is a title I have waiting quite some time for, and it has definitely been worth the wait in the terms of gameplay and story. As a simple platform/puzzle title it can be fun to play for short to long periods of time. The big problems come on the Switch version, where framerare constantly dips and visuals take a hit once in a while. If you want this on the go, it's perfect for Switch. But if you're looking to enjoy the visuals completely with no play issues, steer clear on Switch.

while not as strong a game as ico it is still an enjoyable ride and an enjoyable story but even though the game has been patched the performance issues (stuttering, low frame rates, screen tearing) really hamper the experience. i would recommend the ps4 version but the fact that it is portable on the switch is still a great selling point.

I had been on the fence about the switch version due to performance issues and poor reviews. After he large update, I purchased it and began the story. It still had occasional hiccups and some lag, but I believe the story and look of the game far outweigh those missteps. If you enjoyed games like Journey, then this is for you.
