The modern Planet of the Apes trilogy started with this one! Unlike the original series of movies from the 70's, this series has gotten better with each new film (War for the Planet of the Apes is the most current at the time of writing). And this was a solid start which starts to answer the question how did the apes come to rule the planet? Solid performance all around and ground-breaking (at the time) motion capture for Ceasar. Even if you don't love this film on its own it serves as a great act 1 for the current generation of PotA films. Give it a watch!

After seeing so much advertisement and wonderful early impressions of the 3rd movie, I thought it would be a good time to pick up a copy of the 1st & 2nd film and watch them again and to my surprise, they hold up perfect! Still as amazing as the first time I watched it. My wife and I throughly enjoy this series and will be checking out the 3rd film this weekend using the free ticket included.

I am old enough to have seen all 5 original planet of the apes movies in the theater!. This modern day telling of the origin story of where the apes came from is very good. The cgi and motion capture aspects give the film a realistic rendering of the ape characters. Andy Serkis is a very gifted actor and lends his talents to the motion capture creation of Caesar the leader of the apes.

So, I got to watch this during an out-of-state bus trip recently. I have to say it was better than I expected. Instead of trying to copy the original, the story has been adapted to cast the plot in an updated fashion. While true to the original intent, this movie stands on its own and is not a cheap copy of the original. I really enjoyed it.

I'm a huge Planet of the Apes movie fan. This movie in Blu-Ray lived up to all my expectations. The clarity, sound and overall viewing experience was GREAT!!! I'm glad I didn't find it in 4K because the story wasn't up to my standards for the movie series. Blu-Ray was perfect.

A gripping story of how the apes first came to be the rulers of Earth (fictional) in the future. Great performances and CGI make this a must have for fans of the series from the 60s.

I was never much of a Planet of the Apes fan growing up (It was a little before my time, but I remember tv reruns.), but I was willing to give this movie a try, primarily due to the awesome cast. I’m glad I did, because it was a truly entertaining film.

I bought this movie for my son, but we both loved it. The crispness of blue-ray is great. I loved the original Planet of the Apes movies I watched as a kid, but these new ones are leagues better. If you haven't seen them yet. Give it a try.

Great plot, great action! It's not the best movie I have seen, but it still deserves a 5-star review! My only complaint is that it's not available in 3D, but I realize it came out before 3D started getting popular.

My husband and I love this movie, and the entire series. This is a good movie to watch anytime because it's exciting, and dramatic. It's one of those movies we can just pop in and watch anytime.

I know I like about this movie is that it was the starting point for the trilogy and it really laid out the plot very well. My favorite movie of the three is the third one but this movie was great

If you are looking for a movie that shows the power of love between man and beast, this one will warm your heart. If you show love when it counts, it will be returned in a big way.

I really loved this movie. You really feel heartache for all the characters INCLUDING the apes in this movie. This a must see if you enjoy the entire planet of the apes franchise.

This movie was dirt cheap for Black Friday so I couldn't resist picking it up with the other movies in order to complete the series. It is a great movie!

I wanted to rewatch the first 2 movies in time for the new movie release! Got movies on sale and also a free ticket to see the new one. The movie paid for itself!

A reboot/prequel that does a great job of setting up what is to come in other Planet of the Apes movies. Even works as a standalone film because of how it ends.

I love this reboot of the franchise. I love how James Franco’s character is a father figure to Ceaser, and it’s a great movie to start a great trilogy.

This was out of stock for a little while but Best Buy always restocks quicker than all the other stores so I go here first to look for my movies!!

When I was little, my dad introduced us to the original series. Fell in love with the original series, that this new one brought back those memories.
