Love this movie! It’s great for some 80’s nostalgia!

We all know this movie is great. But finding this beautiful Steelbook at a affordable price was amazing.

Robocop is pretty amazing, as far as action films are concerned. It has a great, often (intentionally) funny script by Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner, fantastically over-the-top characters, eye-popping special make-up effects by Rob Bottin, an excellent score by Basil Poledouris, fantastic locations (that abandoned factory is perfect), and some of the most memorable lines in filmdom (most spoken by the main villain, Clarence J. Boddiker). Not to mention (but I will) the brilliant stop-motion FX of Phil Tippet. All this, and it has an at times tear-jerking emotional story line. Peter Weller's short performance as Alex Murphy has just enough set-up to make us like him, and his physical performance within his new "uniform" are what helps make "Robocop" rise above the average films in this genre. Director Paul Verhoeven and his crew made a classic film that I'm sure will be enjoyed for ages to come. And it's never looked better on home screens. When I first got my HDTV, Robocop (on DVD) was one of the first films I chose to watch. VERY soon into it, I noticed how bad the transfer looked, and stopped watching, deciding to wait until it was remastered and re-released on Blu-ray. And I'm glad I did. Don't be fooled by the first release of Robocop from 2007. Although good, it pales in comparison to this new, 2014 remastered version. "Nice shootin' son. What's your name?" "Murphy."
