I have owned this movie on VHS, then Laser Disc, then Criterion Collection DVD and now this. I must say, that this bargain priced Blu-Ray has most of all the features I remember from my Criterion DVD. The picture quality is the best I have ever seen, but then again, I watched my old DVD on my old square tube TV as well. In any case, it is a great package at a great price. Plus the one that I bought had a $7.50 ticket to the new remake and I only paid $7.99 for the disc, so I feel like it was FREE. Go buy one.

A classic Frankenstein story told through the lens of sci-fi, this is a deeper movie than the title portends. Many releases have come in the past, and the image quality seems to be similar to the most recent release. Where this package exceeds is in the bonus features and the packaging. A great buy for fans, and if you haven't watched it before, a must buy.

Robocop finally gets a digitally remastered Blu-Ray, as the previous version was just a DVD transfer onto a Blu-Ray. It's the same awesome movie, and you get the original theatrical version + the uncut X version (what is now either NC-17 or Unrated). There is even a bonus inteview and it includes all the features from the prevous special edition of the DVD!

What can I say? If you you enjoy Robocop enough to bother reading anything I'm writing here, you should already have this release or are about to head out to your local Best Buy store to pick up a copy. If you don't like Robocop... why bother looking at reviews of it? This is the definitive release of this film in the current format. The only thing missing is that it didn't come with a full sized replica of Robocop. Maybe next time.

MGM provides us with an awesome looking Blu-ray that was re-mastered at 4k. This is the best Robocop has ever looked on any format. A great movie finally has the great transfer it deserves. This movie still holds up to this day. Awesome in 1987, when it was released in theaters, still awesome in 2013. This is a must buy for Robocop fans. Plus free movie money to see the new Robocop movie. Buy this now or there will be trouble.

The United States of America is in a panic because crime is increasing and becoming more violent. To help keep a lawful state, one company has developed robotic creatures. Unfortunately they are not without faults. A gravely wounded cop is recruited to become the company's newest answer to combat crime. Taking the formula of half man - half machine. Once developed fully, this new robocop will have the intelligence of a human without the physical limitations. The story continues with twists and turns that have the viewer wondering if Robocop can survive everything that has been thrown at him.

One of my all-time favorites from the '80s, this remastered edition more than makes up for the debacle that was the first blu-ray release. The 4K restoration looks great and there are tons of extras. Best of all is that for the first time in HD we get Paul Verhoeven's original cut of the film, which was branded with an "X" for violence back in '87. A must for fans of the original and at a great price!

Arrow has released a sublime presentation of one of my favorite movies, Paul Verhoeven's 'ROBOCOP.' As far as I'm concerned this is the definitive release of this film. This is not a 4k release but it can't get much better than this. Absolutely gorgeous and packed with extras.

Robocop is a classic. Everything is over the top, the humor and violence are intertwined and you find yourself laughing at really horrible things occuring on screen. The SFX are dated but that is a part of the charm. There is also a good amount of social commentary thrown in that makes this more than a through away movie. This is a great value for the low price point. Highly recommended.

This is probably the best version of the Veerhoven classic that I remember from when I was a child! Yes, I did see this movie in the theater when I was eight. I snuck in to see it against my parents wishes! But this edition is definitely in high definition, and has wonderful features and bonus extras. I would highly recommend it! It's even better than the criterion collection!

The movie while cheesy at times, holds up pretty well. The directors cut with a couple of extra bloody scenes really bring it home. The video and audio quality is about what you would expect for a Blu-Ray version of an old movie. I would recommend purchasing this.

This is one of the all time classics! If you’ve never seen Robocop do yourself a favor and take care of that problem now. This is an awesome Sci-Fi Actioner that is just as fun as any. Great cast, effects, & direction. Trust me when I say this is a great one.

The previous release blu ray was a poor transfer with no extras. This release is from a 4k master and what a difference also the soundtrack is a bit stronger . This release also includes the extras and the "unrated Directors cut " It is highly recommended to see before you see the remake its themes about income inequality corporate greed and crime unfortunately still resonate today

Looks great! Parts of the movie do seem a bit dated but nothing can take away the sheer satire of this film. It takes the subject manner seriously yet sprinkles in does of pure comedy and sarcastic humor to get its point across. Sounds great, too.

Such a brilliant film! It's a perfect combination of intense, graphic 80s action and biting social satire that is more accurate today than ever. Great performances and hilarious, tongue in cheek news media breaks that give the film a great flow and breaks up the acts nicely. Paul Verhoven directed a genre classic that is just as effective today as it was over 25 years later.

The original RoboCop returns in a newly minted transfer that is wonderful to behold. Paul Verhoeven's classic sci-fi film has never looked as good as on this release. The film holds up remarkably well and is always a joy to revisit. For fans of the film this disc is a must. Casual viewers should give it a go as well considering it's cheap price (currently just $7.99).

I bought this a few weeks ago for $7.50 in-store, and it came with $7.50 movie money for the new RoboCop movie in theaters in 2014...so basically it was like getting the old version for free since I was planning to see the new one anyway. Lots of great rating on this across the internet for it being remastered; I don't have a 4k TV or anything to verify that though.

What can I say about Robocop that has never been said before. A great example of science fiction with themes of corruption and free will. The movie stands the test of time. But I must say this remastering work they did is Outstanding! It's as if the movie wasn't made in 1987 but rather 2014. Great picture quality and sound. And for an amazing price as well.

I have loved this movie since I was a kid. A perfect 80's movie. Great actors and great acting ( all be it sometimes a bit cheesy ). Simple story, straight forward and to the point. I am sure the new Robocop is fine, but it will never be regarded as a classic the way the original is. If you love the 80's, love action, love man in suit, then this is for you.

Robocop is quite possibly the ultimate 80's action film. It feels like a film that could have been made today, solely on its social satire (which is still relevant) & performances that while over-the-top are pitch perfect for the film they're in. This new remaster of the film on Blu-Ray is a must for any Robocop or 80's action film fan! Buy it now!!
