Horrible headset. Bought two for my sons. Neither mouth piece worked and volume on headset didn't work. Only reason for one star is because it was blue tooth. Returning both and will shop for better quality headset.

Didn't even have the headset for 1.25 months before things went south. Headset screws on the height adjuster broke off after gentle usage. How do you mess up screws.
Headset is comfortable, audio quality is alright, it gets glitchy now and then, but the overall quality of the headset is not worth $200 AT ALL. Maybe $50 at most. You could get a headset miles better than what this thing has to offer. What a colossal waste of money, this is the third Roccat headset I've been through and I'm done with them. Longevity does not exist in their vocabulary.

The headset charging base needs to be plugged into the computer to work wirelessly along with the dongle. If it was stand alone with just the dongle like literally every other headset I would give it 5 stars. Sound quality is fantastic. In par with the 2023 black shark from razer. Rgb is gorgeous, blocks out noise. Base is solid.

Hi and thanks for choosing ROCCAT. We are sorry for the lacking experience you've had with the Syn Max Air. In order to properly charge the headset on the docking station we recommend connecting both the data and the power cables from the docking station to the PC instead of just the data cable. However, if your docking station shows a physical defect, it may be necessary to have it exchanged. Please reach out to our support team by using the contact form on our official support website and we'll provide you with the assistance you need.

Upon unboxing the Roccat Syn Max Air, I was very pleased with its packaging. The company packed the headset in a small box without excess materials. Everything is nicely labeled. The tips of the cords each show which point is for inserting into the computer or headphones, and which point is for inserting for charging needs. The wireless dock is also labeled like this and is somewhat compact for being a charging dock, about as big as an Xbox controller. The headset clearly shows its power button and its Bluetooth button, but its volume buttons only include the standard sliding up and down indicator beside it.
I placed the headset on the charger and flipped through the quickstart manual. The charger was at full power very quickly, somewhere within two hours. The charging station itself was very easy to set up as well. You simply insert the cords in their respective places and let them go. One of the things I dislike about the charging station is that you have to place the headset onto the contacts just right or else the headset will not charge at all. The Syn Max Air’s battery life is extremely good, and at the time of this review after having it for 3 days and using it on and off for many hours, it is just now reaching a medium power level.
The headset itself is very lightweight. When first trying it on, I could easily adjust it to rest on my head at its minimum length. The cups are angled slightly so that they fit the sides of your face. The Syn Max Air doesn’t slide around and never become uncomfortable. The microphone for this headset is detachable, so if for any reason you did not wish to have the microphone onto the headphones, you could do that.
Upon turning on the Syn Max Air, it will speak to you, starting with letting you know that it has powered on. It will let you know whether it is connected to your PC or not and will let you know its current power level, high, medium, and low. When powered, the headset flashes RGB which is customizable in the additional software that you must download for the headset. Its RGB is very tolerable, having a subtle and unique glow that rests on its corner in a hexagon pattern.
Synching the headset to the computer was extremely easy, however, this is not a plug-and-play deal. I suggest following the quick guide before plugging in the headset to your PC, as it will eliminate any problems you could have with the headset and its drivers. There are two audio settings for the Syn Max Air, one being “Air free-AG audio”, which is more for voice chatting and video calls, while the other is for “Max Air Stereo”, which is for standard listening. The headset's sound quality is pleasant, and I find myself picking up audio tidbits I had never heard before when playing my daily games. I’ve listened to many forms of music for this review, and most songs are crisp and clear. This headset is definitely more for gaming than for listening, however, they are still good for general use.
When voice chatting, I had to adjust my settings for the headset just a smidge. The sound quality is clear without excess popping and contains fantastic noise cancelation.
I downloaded the NEON app for this headset in order to customize its RGB and to check out the app, however, at this time I cannot get it to detect my headset. For this reason I can't review its additional software.
The Roccat Syn Max Air is quite a comfortable pair of headphones. It is extremely light and suitable for long-term wear, especially for gaming or voice chatting over extended durations. The sound quality is extremely crisp and pleasant in comparison to other headsets. It is a very stylish headset! Because

Hi and thanks for choosing ROCCAT. Please note that the Syn Max Air can be used both via transmitter (which is its docking station) and via Bluetooth. We recommend using Bluetooth only for connections with smartphones and using the connection via transmitter primarily for all connections to a PC or console. This way you ensure the lowest latency and the best audio quality. Due to how limited the bandwidth is when using Bluetooth, the headset needs to split resources between playback and microphone audio when using both, which results in a lower quality of the playback audio. When not using the microphone though, the headset should automatically use the full bandwidth for playback, improving the audio quality compared to when using both speakers and microphone in return.
