OK for PS5 but better for PC

GREAT quality with both the sound and hardware. I will be returning these though, as they were bought as a gift and the receiver was not completely satisfied with the specs. He was going to use them for PS5, but the bluetooth connectivity was not as smooth as expected, and you are not able to adjust the volume directly from the headset. I am giving 4 stars because I do believe this headset would be very nice for PC gaming. Sad to see they did not live up to full expectation with PS5 connectivity.

Solid Headset, But Be Warned of Cheap Material

So I bought these around December of 22, where I did a full revamp of my PC peripherals with ROCCAT PC accessories. And for the most part, I've enjoyed the swap out. ROCCAT has made some top of the line PC gaming peripherals. Except for this headset. Now, let's talk about the positive's of this headset: - When it's functioning correctly, this is a solid PC gaming headset. - Audio quality is good, I'm able to hear omnidirectional sounds in a fairly crisp manner, and the audio comes out clean. - Headset is pretty comfortable. Cushions and shape well to being worn for hours at a time without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. However, I have 3 glaring issues with this, that have made me decide that I will look for a different headset. Issue #1: The Charge Base ROCCAT has this feature where you can place the headset on the base for it to charge wirelessly instead of using a cable. That's handy...if you can get it to work without wanting to throw your headset at the wall in frustration. The pins on the charge base are near impossible to line up onto the headset correctly. Majority of the times, you'll find yourself thinking you have it lined up, only for the headset to turn itself on due to be pushed down onto the button, or slide slightly out of alignment that it will not charge. And with no light/feature to indicate it's charging, it's extremely difficult and frustrating to charge this wirelessly. Most of you will end up charging it via the USB-A to USB-C cable. Issue #2: Frequent Disconnects. So, for some reason, this headset is not very friendly about staying connected. Anytime I boot up my PC, or anytime my computer idles and comes back, I have to unplug and replug the charge base in order to hear any sound. Now, this is mildly annoying at best, but the biggest issue I have, is that my sound/headset will randomly disconnect frequently while I'm in the middle of working/gaming. Again, can be solved by unplugging/replugging the headset in. However, in the middle of a gaming session, this is extremely annoying. Issue #3: Cheap Build Materials I have owned many different brands of gaming headsets over the years (Astro, Turtle Beach, Arctis, Razer) and this is the only set where it has gotten damaged in less than a year from normal wear/tear and is now unusable. So, the big issue for me, is that the material around the drivers and holding the band in place, is made of VERY CHEAP plastic. About a month ago, I noticed a hairline crack going through the entire driver side where the microphone boom is, and going through the joint where the driver cup and headband are connected. Now, I've taken very good care of my headsets, and have had some last me 5+ years. Worst I've done for this headset, is set it down on my desk gently, as I've done with all my headsets. Unfortunately, when I went to put it on today, the plastic finally began to crumble away and expose enough of the joint that was only held by this cheap plastic, that now my left cup is dangling freely. Definitely a poor build with cheap materials. Overall, this headset is NOT worth the $250. To be fair, I bought this when it was on sale for $200 and it's still not worth that. This, for the build and average sound quality, would be $100 at best. Avoid this headset if you can. The lighting compliments my setup, but that doesn't make this headset worth it. A shame, unfortunately.
