    When I was looking for a new surge protector for my A/V setup, I came upon this Rocketfish 7-Outlet surge protector and at first was a bit puzzled by the price as it seemed quite a bit for the number of outlets. But then I read the specs and was impressed with the capabilities in terms of surge protection, spacing of the outlets and inclusion of a 12W USB-A and 20W USB-C PD port - and the warranty. THEN I picked it up and felt how solid and weighty it is - and that convinced me. While normally in modern electronics we look for smaller and thinner, there are two places that's not true - audio and power. With power, especially surge protection, you want something weighty with solid components made of heavier metals. And this has weight - and surge protection - in spades, and those solid components allow it to protect not just from surges but also to reduce noise on the power line which helps with A/V signals and provides additional protection for your computer equipment. In use, it's as easy as any other surge protector - you plug it in, then you can plug things into it. And that's about it. You get 5 "normally" spaced outlets and two widely spaced ones to fit those bigger plugs/ac adapters and a nice 6 foot long braided power cord (not the longest, but a generous length at any rate - and it is a "wall hugging"/right angle plug). The USB ports work just like they should and there's a little set of LEDs to tell you it's all working (or not, as the case may be). My components seem very happy plugged into it. I haven't mounted it on the wall, but it does come with the slots to be able to mount it in several different configurations. So if you want a heavy duty surge protector that the manufacturer stands behind (check out this warranty compared to others, I'll wait), then this Rocketfish model should be high on your list. Give it a try today!

    I’m not sure why this thing is so much bigger than the other options with 7 outlets. Considering the size I would expect at least 9 instead of 7.
