Does what it says but be careful if you plan to attach it to the DVI port back of the monitor. In my case, I had to attach the HDMI cable then bend the cable so I could attach the adapter to the monitor (DVI plug was vertical on this monitor).

This adapter works out very nice. If you need one, get this.

This is the exact DVI adapter that I need for connecting my new laptop with HDMI to an older monitor. Works good with a clear image.

I had my doubts about whether or not text would be readable on a 32" 1080p LED TV when connected to a PC. But after connecting this little adaptor to the PC, and plugging-in the HDMI, it looked GREAT! Especially when the alternative was an old tube-type monitor from the garage. ;-)

Pretty cheap product, that has quite a high quality. It is fully metal, which offers some durability. I will not though that a different cable is needed for audio. This adapter does not accommodate an audio feed.

I got this so I could play Xbox 360 on my Samsung 23" monitor. HDMI to DVI works great and I couldn't be happier. This is a high quality converter and I haven't had any problems to date.

... on an older 27" monitor that has a standard DVI port but no HDMI in. HDMI output came from a standard laptop. Worked perfectly. HDCP encoding passed through perfectly.

The whole point here was to use this to drive a DVI monitor with a Raspberry Pi. It didn't work (assuming the pi doesn't put out enough power to drive the circuitry). I returned the adapter. It seemed very solidly built.

There isn't much that I can say about this other than it does what it is supposed to do. If you are expecting sound to come through your video card through this, it will do so only if your video card has an S/PDIF connector to attach to the sound card/motherboard, just an FYI.

It was a lot wider than I thought. It wouldn't fit next to the other cables on my graphics card. I returned it for a refund. The size was an issue but otherwise did the job it was designed to do.

It works and is not cumbersome or hard to use.. Video and picture quality is excellent.. Only down side is it does not transfer audio.. so make sure you have another way to deliver audio..

Bought a pc and realized my monitor that was given to me by a friend didn’t have an hdmi port so I purchased this adapter and all is well. Connected and worked perfectly.

With everything that going on in the world with COVID I would think a company would understand if a person did not or was not able to return an item after 2 weeks. Yes I do understand that that’s their policy but as everyone is adjusting bestbuy chose to not. The item was unopened and unused and still in original package with seal tape. I tried to explain that after research I discovered that I ordered the wrong one and didn’t return to the store until they opened back up (3 weeks after purchase) but they stuck by the policy. I had no use in the item and no need to take it back home so I just left it at the store

I have 2 of these in different configurations. One is to a monitor that has dvi but not hdmi (laptop has hdmi out). Works great. Of course, no audio, but the computer recognizes that and ports audio out of the onboard speakers or external speakers. The other is used with a different system using a Plugable 3900 for dual monitors to use the dvi out of the 3900 to hdmi in of one if 2 monitors that have hdmi and vga, but no dvi. The only downside is that they are relatively expensive...the hdmi cable and dvi adapter cost about 75% of the cost of the 23" monitor.

This has really helped me with my ox dual monitor setup. One of my monitors doesn’t have this port on the back, so for me to be able to use my hdmi port helped out a lot.

As with everyone, finding the right adapter to accommodate technological change is not always easy...this fulfilled the need and gave new life to the old. Easy connection gives immediate pleasure.

Crazy expensive, but it gets the job done. Works well in both directions, tested with my Nvidia graphics card and acer monitor. Unsure if sound can be transmitted or not.

Works as expected. Converted an old DVI monitor into HDMI so I could connect to my PC output. Nothing special, but it works.

Product is really good quality, liked the metal construction versus plastic. What I didn't like was the $30 price tag for something that should have been under $5. Guess I should have tried to price match.

This little gem fits in the awkward space on the back of my monitor. I had bought one from another brand and supplier online and it didn't fit. But, this one from my local Best Buy store actually did the job and works for me.
