Although it is slim and not thick, it is sufficient enough to provide some protection. Unlike the nerf that provide better protection, I think this is still decent as it has a rubbery grip that help keep it gripped in your hands. Like the nerf its biggest weakness is around the bend of the system. If it falls there then it most likely will cause a breakage. Decent style, decent grip, decent protection from scratches with limited shock protection if dropped.

Case protects the 3ds AND it is so slim it doesn't feel like it's too bulky to hold. I didn't give it 5 stars only because the color layer started to peel off but it didn't affect its protection. Have had the case for a few years and I love it. Would buy it again for another 3DS XL.

The case for the 3ds XL provide a decent protection for minor falls. The rubber grip provides slip resistant for a better hold of the game. Seem limited in combination of colors. It comes in two pieces that snap on the top and bottom. It will not provide protection for the hinge area.

It's very nice and sturdy. I love the feel because you can get a good grip on it instead of letting your ds slide around in your hand. It protects the 3ds very well, too.

i bought this after it had gone on clearance, after walking by it dozens of times. i definitely should have bought it earlier, even at full price! overall i am careful with my things, but being blonde, juggling more than a dozen things at once can be a bit hazardous to my possessions lol. apparently for the heck of it, i dropped it down a flight of stairs shortly after putting it on and it was even bothered one bit by it. my other concern was dirt collection, the material it is made out of does an excellent job of repelling lint and such. my only issue with it was taking it off. under normal circumstances, someone shouldn't ever need to take it off. but i am not normal. i was figuring i wasn't going to like it and would take it off and return it or throw it in a drawer, so i didn't take the decal skin off, which i had applied to the system earlier. upon attaching it, i instantly fell in love with it. so needing to fulfill my ocd desires i proceeded to remove it (following the instructions mind you) at one point i thought was going to rip the 3ds apart, but it came out unscathed and has been on it since then. case in point, keep the instructions just in case. overall i would buy it again and will buy the next version when the next 3ds comes out.

This is a quality snap-on case. I haven't dropped the unit yet, but it provides protection that is sufficient for not having the system in a case all of the time. Soft rubbery feel to it, while retaining a rigid plastic form.

Functionally, this thing is awesome. Throw your 3DS in your bag, and just open it up when you want to play. So fast and easy while staying protected. I just wish it didn't look like black alligator shoes.

I like this protector because it's not too bulky and it's a must to protect your kids $200+ Investment. This is one of the least expensive covers I found with good protection.

When we first purchased my son his DS we bought a nerf armor case, but it made the DS bulky and hard to play with. We waited a about a year to upgrade to this one, we wanted to give our son some time to get "responsible." I wish I had bought this case first, it makes such a difference in weight and physically just wrapping your hands around the game system and it protects the DS from wear and tear. My son really loves the case!

I bought two of these and has been a good investment. My kids like the way it feels in their hands and provides good protection when they drop their 3DS. It was a little tough get the first one on but once I got it on the second one was easier to put on.

We bought our 7 yr old a 3DS XL for Christmas. We purchased the case as an afterthought. Works well for him. Not too bulky for his little hands and he has dropped it several times and it protects well.

Purchased this case for my 8 year old son as a surprise. He is a bit careless so I decided to give this case a shot, I was NOT disappointed. It is great and affordable, best bang for your buck.

This cover is awesome!!! My son is 7 and loves his 3DS and this cover not only protects it, but it keeps his hands from sliding while he is playing.

This case snaps onto the DS easily and is not too bulky. It feels a little cushiony to the touch but isn't bulky.

First and foremost I'd like to say that I'm an adult 3DS gamer and the case really helps the console fit in my hands better. The case is just what I want out of a dedicated case. It looks really cool, I still have access to all the ports and buttons/sliders etc., it has a neat rubber finish that allows for a better grip, it's slim yet provides decent protection. It is pretty much the perfect 3DS case.

Excellent case! It's shock proof since my son has dropped it numerous times. It fits perfectly, slim line indeed! I'm impressed with this rocket fish product.
