Great for the money

I bought the 2014 version first and added this for the extra song list. I have been goofing around learning guitar for a few years and this was just what I needed. It took a while to mentally translate from reading tabs for their way of presenting the information. Once you get it it really is addictive and helps you play in rhythm.
It is much cheaper than lessons. It would be great if they put a little music theory in there besides just the scales.

Recommended for Beginners to Amateur

I've been playing guitar for 16 years now and this game/teaching demo is more suited towards beginners to amateur... if you've played guitar for a while and can play things by ear/pick up how to play a song easily, you'll be bored quickly.
The old saying 'hard to teach an old dog new tricks' rings true here IMO, where you'll rely on your ear more than the different methods they use in Rocksmith. The methods in themselves are different and may seem counter-intuitive as Rocksmith straddles the line of game vs. lessons.

I ordered this game used so that I could download the songs from it to play in Rocksmith 2014. It worked like a charm. I had a $5 gift card & $5 in reward certificates, so after tax & shipping the game only cost me $2.43! Can't beat that deal.

This is the Best Buy exclusive version that does not include bass, even though they advertise it as such and the store employees will tell you it does based on the description in their computer. If you want the bass you have two options: 1. pay 9.99 to add it to this version of the game or 2. pay 9.99 to import all but five of the songs the songs into the new version of the game. Provided you have the new version of the game, option two is the better choice. Do not buy all unless you already have the proprietary "real tone" cable.
I gave it one star based on Best Buy's false description. The game is a fantastic way to learn guitar.

NOT Guitar and Bass as listed!

I ordered the Guitar and Bass version because I have a bass. When I started playing the game, the Best Buy Exclusive logo came up. Then, when I attempted to select bass as my instrument, I was redirected to the PlayStation store where I needed to pay $10 to download the bass add-on.
Contacting customer service, I was told that they don't have a way to differentiate between the used versions Guitar and Bass or Best Buy Exclusive. It is luck-of-the-draw for which version you get. So, if you are looking for the specific Guitar and Bass edition, this is not the one to buy.
That Best Buy issue aside, the Rocksmith game is great! And, even with having to pay the extra $10 to get the bass add-on, this is still a good price (I paid $9). I just don't like the misleading (and ultimately incorrect) product title.

Seems Like A Steal

Although the disk was in great condition, shipping was fast and it was a great price, you must have a 1/4" to USB jack to play this game, and there was no cable provided. Some of the cheapest cables I could find were on Amazon for $13, and BestBuy.com for $20. here's a link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hosa-technology-1-4-usb-guitar-cable/1052258.p?id=1218901428601&skuId=1052258

MISLEADING!!

NOWHERE did it say "game only" or "Cable not included". I am very upset about this! I searched the reviews, I searched the details... I read every little thing and it doesn't mention the cable ANYWHERE. The versions that don't come with the cable, CLEARLY state it on the title. This one did not. I am angry, FIX THIS!
