The Wii version is the best one. Even the creator has stated on Twitter to please play the Wii version. It is a lot of fun and gives you a cool flying feeling with the Wii remote control.
The issue with the Wii U version is because it is a port of a port. Basically the Wii version wasn't getting picked up by a publisher as the developer was working on a port to the 3DS. When they finally got around to getting a publisher interested, a Wii U version was wanted (probably due to it being the current console), and instead of using the Wii version as a base, the 3DS port was used. It's very unfortunate.

The wii u version looks better but the controls feel odd and sluggish. The wii version on the other hand is not as good looking but is so fun to play

Very rare and great game. Fans of nights will really enjoy this game. The package is great including the Wii U Version (3DS Port) and original never released Wii version which is the definitive version. You can also flip the game cover to display the wii version. It is an excellent pick for a collector and any fan of the nights title from back in the day.

I bought this when it went on sale so I'm happy with the deal I got. The first print includes the bonus Wii copy which is actually the better version so if you're buying this game make sure it has the bonus disc sticker on the wrapper.

It comes with two distinct versions of the game: one for Wii and another for WiiU. Interestingly, it is the Wii version that truly shines, which is mildly disappointing, but two games for the price of one (bought on sale) is a pretty solid deal. It helps that the game is a unique 3rd-party offering on a system that is lacking in 3rd-party support.

The Wii disc included in this version is the only one made by the original developer. The publishers then decided to delay releasing the game in order to put out an "upgraded" version for the Wii U. Unfortunately, the controls and overall gameplay suffered due to this.

A fun and interesting game that sadly has some odd control decisions. The included Wii version controls rather well, but the WiiU version inexplicably changes the control into a rather unintuitive setup. You can get used to it, but it's still a bit awkward.

The Wii U game has issues with its flushed art style and clunky controls. As for story, it is average and straightforward. The game mechanics is quite odd by playing like a hybrid of Sega's Knights and Nintendo's Kid Icarus Uprising. Most likely the reason it performs poorly is because this is a port of the 3DS version of Rodea and both versions were not meant to be played this way.
First print copies of this game came with a Wii Version. The Wii version has a brighter atmosphere, straightforward controls and an overall better experience. Which makes sense since this was originally meant to be a Wii game.
So if you want to enjoy the game, then stick to the wii version.

This game has excellent packaging that includes the Wii U version with manual, Wii version with its own manual, and a reversible cover that shows different artwork for the Wiiversion. Do yourself a favor - turn the artwork inside out, pretend this is just a Wii game (still playable on the Wii U with a Wiimote!), and never look back! Controls on the Wii U game pad are unplayable at best and no changes were made to the graphics from the 3DS version it was ported from which leads to a blurry mess that is often nearly impossible to discern what is happening.

Interesting game that is flawed by some questionable controls. Once you get hang of control you discover a good game deep down.

It's a good game from NiGHTs into Dreams and Sonic Creator, but the Wii U port is flawed.
