This game is decent enough on the Wii U and 3DS, but the Wii game (included with launch copies, and not sold separately) is where the game really shines. It was developed for that platform, and it shows.

Wii version is the one worth owning

Launch Edition includes Wii game which is the one really worth playing and owning. Wii U version suffers from choppy frame rate, unsynced audio in cutscenes, and sluggish/unresponsive controls. Had the game slow down multiple times when a lot was happening on the screen. This version is also meant to be played at a much slower pace and features lots of exploring the level to collect things to upgrade your character. Kind of necessary if you want to move around at a decent speed. The Wii version is the true vision for the game. It runs at a much faster pace with controls that work well for it. It is a game that is meant to be blasted through multiple times. It even has multiplayer. I bought the Launch Edition because the Wii version is the one I wanted to play.

Rodea is a good game. It is not perfect but it is fun. The launch edition comes with the Wii version of the game, which is a different game from the Wii U version. It's a good value since you get two games.

    Charming & original

This is a charming game by the creator of Sonic, Nights and many other games. The day one edition comes with the Wii version of the game. It is basically the same version of the game but obviously the Wii U version looks way better but the Wii version feels like it is the right way to control it (according to its creator). The game is fun and charming especially if you like Nights and/or anime. I really enjoy it unfortunately if you are a “graphics junkie” you will notice that this game was not developed yesterday. Also, I would like to mention that the 3DS version is the same game so I strongly suggest this version because it has less technical issues. Recommended just don’t expect Uncharted!

This game comes with a Wii and a Wii U version. Save yourself and throw the Wii U version out the window. It's almost unplayable. The Wii Version is actually playable and it is pretty cool and imaginative game. The controls take some getting used to but it's a fun game that feels like it feel out of Dreamcast era Sega.

    One of Yuji Naka's best

Yuji Naka is best known as a programmer on the original Sonic the Hedgehog games and director of NiGHTS into Dreams... While he also worked on other titles afterwards, nothing has really stacked up to his earlier works until now. First prints of this game come with the Wii version of Rodea the Sky Soldier, which is perhaps his finest 3D game. Using the Wii Remote, players fly through the sky to defeat enemies and save the kingdom of Garuda from an invading force. There's also multiplayer up to four players where you can race across up to five different levels. The Wii U version of this game is a bit different, and slower-paced, but not all that bad as it focuses more on exploration and uses a standard controller instead of the Wii Remote. The real star of the show is the Wii version though, and it come recommended.

It's a fun game, and while the pointer controls may seem a bit strange at first, once you get the hang of them, you'll begin to understand and see just how fluid and flowing the gameplay can really be. I cannot say much about the Wii U version as I haven't played much of it, but as many others have said, I'd be inclined to agree that the original Wii version is the way to go.
