Bought this for my dumb tv. This is the base model Roku stick. It’s worth it, in my opinion, to buy the roku express plus cause it’ll let you control the TV and allows you to stream audio through the app.

Streaming was great fast internet never lags compared to the firestick, only thing is there’s no volume control and I. Have to pay $10 more for the Roku premium with the tv control.

It takes a little getting use to, but it works great sure better than having a 70.00 tv service bill.

While this is one of the better options, these overheat occasionally and lockup on Netflix in the middle of certain movies/shows. Go on Amazon and get the Roku TV remote so you can have Roku remote and TV power/volume on the same device. Get the programable one.

I have a TCL Roku television. The USB cord doesn’t fit into the HDMI slot on the back of the tv.

Bought in the beginning of December literally just stopped working today

Ridiculously horrible, to try to watch apps for which you are paying but the medium for accessing the apps is a complete failure.

Recently cut the cable TV cord, this is my 1st streaming device. Clear instructions, easy to set-up, basically plug-in HDMI and go! Picture quality is fantastic on my 6-yr old Insignia HD TV. Have used for a week and it's great. Also purchased the remote cover in purple, great buy for the price. High recommend both!

Picked up two of these for my older LG TVs, plus I picked up a 24" Sharp TV with built in Roku for my workout room. After years of frustration with poorly functioning apps on multiple generations of Sony Blu Ray DVD players, I'm glad I've finally seen the light. These work flawlessly, are super cheap @ $30, and have all the apps I'll ever need. If I could change one thing it would be for all Roku models to have a Bluetooth or even RF based remote, so I didn't have to stick the box to the edge of my TV like a barnacle.

Had to purchase a streaming platform for our older "Smart TV". Netflix no longer will support our Smart TV platform. We suddenly, one day, couldn't access our Netflix streaming. Needless to say, another "hi tech" aggravation. We reviewed the various streaming choice hardware, Roku seemed to be the best choice for us. The "basic" unit was about $25 and very easy to install/set-up. The remote is compact and very user friendly. One button to get us into Netflix. The Main Unit is small and easy to find a good place to put it. If you purchase this Roku unit, be sure to cancel your "Free Trial" subscriptions BEFORE the "trial end" date, otherwise you'll be billed for it. Oh yeah,...you need to provide a Credit Card to activate this unit. This is a bit annoying, even if you don't want any "pay for" subscriptions or other streaming sources. Otherwise, it's a good price to allow us to use our very well running older Smart TV with out Netflix service. Also, the Roku remote that we purchased (basic unit), does NOT have TV controls, which is fine for our needs. We use the Smart TV remote to control the TV audio, since we've got a sound bar attached to the TV. We only need to Roku remote to activate Netflix. You can also access all the Roku features, if interested, with their Remote. We think this Roku unit is a cheap solution to our problem, without investing in a new Smart TV, or other more expensive streaming platform.
