just the product I was looking for ... suits my needs ... ferinstance ... went to see the new version of far from the madding crowd ... argued about its merits with wife and friends ... got home ... rokued the original and everyone was happy

Roku does what it's supposed to do, i.e. give your TV online access, but it loads slowly and often stops to load some more during a program. This probably has something to do with server connectivity, etc., but it's clunky. Navigation is also slow and clunky and the fast forward and rewind functions are a challenge. Additionally, the look and feel of the Roku environment (it's customization graphics, etc.) are surprisingly unsophisticated for such a high profile product. Roku is better than an HDMI cable, but it needs further development.

The ROKU streaming stick along with SlingTV, Netflix, and HULU have more than made up for getting rid of DirecTV. Though sometimes the reaction time is slow to select an app or a channel, it still was worth the change and investment.

I brought the Roku stick so I could use it for the TWC app and I have also been using it for Hulu and Netflix. I well, my only issue is the loss of connection every now and then with the TWC app, it is most likely not an issue with the devise but rather, an issue with the app. I also like the fact that it can do screen mirroring, but I with you could cast video from phones or tablets ect. If it can I dont know how to do it.

This product takes approximately 15 minutes to set up (plugging in, linking accounts, etc.) and is extremely easy. I use it primarily for streaming Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. Streaming quality is great. The only gripe I have is restarting a movie that has already been viewed (my daughter likes to watch certain videos over and over). For now, I fast forward through the credits, back out and back into the app and start.

I wanted to upgrade my 65 inch hd tv so I looked into buying a streaming internet product to enhance my man cave.I read some reviews and chose the roku stick.simply put I love it.The roku stick has given me hours of fun programming.

I would only recommend this product along with all the information I mention here. More information about associated subscription costs would be helpful. It seems like they don't want to reveal what those costs are. There are quite a few free shows you can watch but I suspect anything 'newer' will cost you money. Movies cost a few dollars & don't bother paying for the HD version unless you know for sure you'll be able to get & play it. The free shows are mostly on topics I have no interest in. Also, it's pretty simple to get some trash on that kids shouldn't see. I'm not sure why they make it difficult to find out more about what the costs will be.

I repurposed an older 42" plasma for garage duty and I needed content. Having three other Roku 3s helped guide my decision. This one was perfect to fit behind my wall-mounted TV and provide what I needed. It's just a little slow....

I love the remote control that comes with my Roku. It helps to navigate the various apps easily. I bought this product instead of a DVD player so I could stream Netflix and Pandora. I chose it instead of similar products because it has PBS Kids and my grandchildren love it.

Best streaming device on the market. I prefer the boxes to the stick, but both work well. With the stick, it is best to connect them to external power rather than power them through the USB connection on the TV because the unit must boot up every time you power on the TV.

Bought this for my dad and he really liked it. Unfortunately his internet service is too slow where he is living so the apps would not work properly. Had to return it. Wish it would have worked but was not the fault of the product.

We use the Roku device to watch local TV programs, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Movies, YouTube, etc. We do not have cable or anything else. The only thing that my husband misses sometimes is LIVE NBA basketball programs.

This product works; however, the remote tends to be unresponsive at times. You can download an app to your smartphone to act as a remote.

We bought this so we could take advantage of the Sling TV app. The dvd player I had discontinued the hulu app, so this is great for the bedroom so I can watch Netflix, hulu, etc.

The Roku stick is perfect for the price. It is just as fast as the Roku 3 but less expensive. Only issue is the length of the Roku stick. Better make sure your HDMI outlets have enough space to fit, otherwise you could damage the device.

The Roku Stick works perfect for streaming. We have used it to watch tv shows on Netflix and sporting events on ESPN. Works perfect. Easy to install and access.

The Roku Streaming Stick with Remote is great! It's already changed how I watch TV. We got rid of cable and just have this and an antenna/converter box. THE ONLY NEGATIVE, many of the "channels" require subscriptions and don't have that many mainstream options for free.

With Wi-Fi, Netflix, and Hulu this makes for less expensive alternate TV experience to cable; requires higher bandwidth computer Wi-Fi for genuinely good reception to operate well.

Easy set-up and operation. Gets "stuck" every once in a while, but thing it is more of an internet issue than the product. Still several shows that we miss, but am saving $100 a month on cable. I like that you can get livestream webcasts on it. If you are considering chromecast, spend the extra money on this to get WAY more options and the ability to use it without having to tie upa device to play the show on (ipad, compueter, etc).

Many TV's are being equipped with Smart TV buttons that let you go directly to Netflix or Hulu; however, some subscriptions like HBO Now or Showtime are not on the same page. The Roku Streaming Stick is probably the best choice out there for getting instant access to these additional channels, based on its ease and price. It is also a good choice to turn ordinary TV's into Smart ones. I would not recommend the Stick, though, if you already have a Smart TV and do not pay for channels outside of Hulu or Netflix.
