I love Roku and have another model on a different TV. This one is also great but very slow to start up. It goes into a sleep cycle when the TV is off and when you turn the TV on, the bouncing Roku screen saver thing is there for several minutes no matter what you try. Frustrating to wait for it.

If you don't have a smart TV this is the next best thing to purchase! My family uses it daily and we've never had a problem.

I bought a roku stick to go along with our roku box, google chrome cast, x box, and wii systems. The reason I bought the roku stick is because my family and I went a couple of years without having cable and we used the roku box, x box, and wii to watch hulu and netflix online. Now we use the rokus and google chrome cast to watch hulu and netflix and sign in through our tv provider to watch sports or other cable shows (I guess you could say we are using the rokus and google chrome cast as DVRS but we don't have to pay $15 a month to use them like we did when we had DVR service). I put the stick down stairs in the basement, about ten feet away from my router, so I could watch my favorite shows while I was working out and my son can watch tv down stairs and not wake everyone up by watching tv up stairs. After two weeks the remote stopped working and I couldn't watch any tv on the roku stick. After doing some research online and trying some of their ideas (they didn't work) and calling roku and sitting on hold for over 15 minutes (I gave up trying to get ahold of roku) I decided to try using a google chrome cast extender cable on the roku to see if that would work. After putting on the extender the roku remote has worked fine ever since. I don't know why the remote worked for two weeks and then it didn't but ever since I put the extender on I haven't had a problem. Given my experience with the roku stick, roku box, google chrome cast, x box, and wii, I would tell you I have not had any problems with the roku box (I have had the box for three years), there are few limitations I have ran into on the chrome cast (even though I love the fact I can mirror anything I get onto my computer...including live sports), the x box is great but you have to pony up the money to get one first and then pay for the xbox live membership, the old wiis are being relegated to playing video games, and the roku stick had issues with the remote syncing with the stick. If money is not a factor and you want to have access to a lot of different programming, go with the x box or roku box (whether you want the more basic one or the roku 3). If you want to save money and get a cheaper device, I would look at the different sticks out there (google, roku, amazon) and see what shows you want to watch more often and go with that one.

Of the available streaming devices I considered, this was the best combination of function, size, and cost. I use it for Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime and other streaming services and it performs fantastically. I combined it with a digital antenna to be able to get local news and the networks and have cut the cord for good.

We have had great success streaming television from the internet with this device.

This stick has soooo many channels/apps/movies/tv shows it's rlly amazing. Super easy to set up & use. I would've given it 5 stars but it sucks that you have to pay for the tv shows/movies

I really enjoy my Roku device. It allows me to stream w/o having to use my computer.

Got this for my husband. He had trouble connecting top Netflix. Hasn't had any problems since he started using the stick.

I have a smart t.v. in the bedroom and got so used to using the apps on that t.v. that when I got my larger screen t.v. for the living area, I missed not having those options. This Roku remedied that problem for me. It was a lot less expensive option to buying a large smart t.v. It makes a great gift for others as well.

I had other rokus before in different rooms of the house and they all work great. This roku, however, is so tiny and compact it has become my favorite one. If you don't mind a slight lag when using the remote then this roku is for you

You get a huge option of programming to pick from. Can always find something we all like to watch.

Absolutely great. I use the Chromecast before but the channels are so much better than the few apps that you can find for the other one. The only thing is that you have to wait a few minutes when you use the USB on the TV until it starts up. You can use a regular plug with the USB cable but I prefer to wait than have it on all the times.

Great alternative to costly cable plus option to see many shows and movies from the past.

We don't pay for tv service now that we have roku. We use it to watch Netflix and Hulu... it is so easy to use and we love it!

I love everything about the Roku. It's the easiest, most user friendly streaming device out right now. The stick is perfect.

Like the idea of having a hidden Roku, but waiting 1 or 2 minutes for the software to load every time I turned on the television did not work. Wireless is not strong, processor too weak for YouTube, most apps take a long time to load, and Sling TV crashes. I had to return it, and get a Roku 3.

I bought the Roku streaming stick after deciding to get rid of my cable, and it works wonderfully! I have had zero issues so far with this device (I've had it now for about 2 months). I would recommend this to anyone.

Connects quickly, streams without hesitation, plus it has a much needed movie search feature. Very pleased with this purchase.
