Also being able to bring netflix and Hulu+ with me is a bonus. A lot of the free apps are kind of lame, would be cool to have some better documentary apps that aren't cheap.

You can't stream things on your tv from your devices but other than that Roku is ok for Netflix and amazon prime and huluplus. I guess hbo won't play for me bc of some deal with the cable provider. All well, no big deal. Still works fine.

Great alternative to roku box

The whole set up is much more streamlined visually, since we don't have the cords going from the tv to the roku to the plug. But it also seems less finicky, whereas with the roku box we were frequently having to re-set it, either by turning it on or off or unplugging it and plugging it back in.

The only negative aspect of it was having to use the supplied power cord to it. I thought it only had to be plugged into the hdmi port on tv, that it was powered through the plug. Other than that, outstanding!

My TV is MHL enabled and I wasn't aware Roku sells a different version of HDMI streaming stick with MHL feature. Check your TV before buying, MHL enabled devices allow you to control Roku from your TV remote directly. But I guess MHL enabled HDMI streaming stick from Roku cost more !
