The Streaming stick HDMI Roku works fantastic and saves room at the same time. Make sure you have an extra HDMI connection on your TV for this device because all you have to do is plug it in and set it up. Set up is a breeze and in no time at all you'll be watching any of the many streaming sights available. Since it attaches to your TV , you need no room on your table for a small box as you do with the other Roku models. I would recommend this to any of my friends.

I looked into the Chrome-cast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and this Roku and picked Roku based on reviews and Best Buy sales associate's recommendation. I feel I got the best bang for my buck here and it was on sale, too! I travel a lot and was able to plug my Roku stick into the back of the hotel TV (has to have HDMI slot) and I was good to go. I carry a power strip/surge protector with me so I used the A/C plug as apposed to using the TV's USB to power the Roku (A/C is recommended and makes the Roku faster). I even returned to the same motel a few weeks later and the Roku remembered the WiFi set-up and password so it was truly "plug & play." It comes with it's own remote, which is nice if you don't want to get your phone out to use, though the remote is a bit sluggish and the individual apps for streaming channels are pretty basic. I think this is probably true for all the streaming devices. Initially, It takes a while to set up the Roku, mostly in activating the individual channels like HBO, Showtime, CNNGo, etc... and you need your computer to do it most efficiently (can also use smart phone or tablet) but once it's done you don't have to do it again. It's a lot easier than carrying around a blue-ray player with Netflix, etc apps. I have DISH Network in California but only HD antenna in New Mexico, so now I can watch my premium channels in New Mexico. There's still no MSNBC app for streaming, but that's not Roku's fault. All in all, a great solution.

I'm a HUGE Roku fan. This is an excellent entry level Roku device at a great price point. Wi-Fi range is great. U.I. is top notch(same U.I. on all Roku devices). If you don't have a Roku and are considering one, this is a great way to try it out. One night out at the movies will cost you more than the Roku Streaming Stick. That being said, if you're okay with spending around $90, or you are going to use it A LOT, the Roku 3 is the way to go. There is relatively no lag loading channels, browsing content, or relatively anywhere else. The headphone jack on the remote is also extremely handy, which the Streaming Stick does not have.

roku is a great little product. Takes up no space and plugs directly into the back of the tv via the hdmi port. easy to use with the main streaming services (Netflix, hulu and amazon). also its easy to travel with as you can sign into various multi step internet sign in - great for hotel rooms and dorm rooms.. if you have time warner cable, you may want to look at the roku stick as it was a twc app, where the amazon fire stick does not

It costs half that of a Roku 3, and does everything the 3 does except for the input on the 3's remote to plug in headphones. It's also a fraction the size of a Roku 3, and doesn't have to sit out in front of the TV all the time; it plugs into and sits in the back where the TV ports are. It costs more than a Chromecast stick, but it comes with lots more apps and a "point anywhere" remote that is way more useful than I first thought it would be. Adding channels activation codes, and inputting data like username, passwords is annoying because the only way is by tapping one letter at a time on an on-screen keyboard... you only have to go through this once per channel or service that you want to add, but it can be a lengthy process. I'm still putting off adding more channels; it really is a pain. To solve this, Roku should offer the ability to take care of all the setup stuff and adding channels via a computer browser. Bottom line is it's basically as good as the more expensive Roku 3, and way more functional than Chromecast for only $10 more. To me it's currently the clear winner of all the app streamers. Apple is missing from my comparison; of course, Apple Is way to proprietary to be in the final running to win this war.

I was debating between this and a WiFi-enabled DVD player, but for my needs, this is more than sufficient. I have a WiFi repeater in the same room, so that mitigates any issues with signal strength and streaming. Setup took less than 15 minutes, and I've not had any issues with it at all. For the money, this is certainly an ideal solution.

The Roku Streaming Stick is easy to use, hides behind the television set and performs perfectly.

Fast performance used mostly with Plex and Amazon prime channels though haven't used Netflix yet. The Roku is pretty fast to load and exit channels otherwise. I did experience lockup twice however where it was not responsive however one of the times it was due to a power outage but performing a power reset on the device fixed it. I have the Roku connected to my receiver HDMI input and it stays on when the receiver is on standby and wakes from sleep very quickly. I have a dual band wireless N network so I don't see any stutter when streaming 10+Mbps streams to the Roku. I like this setup behind the receiver because it reduces cable clutter and while the device is hidden the included remote works very well. I was choosing between this and the Roku3 however this was half the price and no wires to show. I do wish it was supported by my Logitech Harmony so now I have two remotes but the Roku remote is quite small. Overall I am very impressed by this little device and for the price you can't go wrong.

I bought this Roku stick last month, only as a wanted item. In a few short days, it turned into a much-needed purchase. It's super-easy to set up (even by a novice) and it has working flawlessly since purchase. It pairs with my wireless network, even in the basement area of my house, without any streaming problems. Once configured, the USB plug-in can be transferred to any tv in the house in a matter of minutes, without additional setup. I don't have any "smart" devices, just standard HDTV's. Roku's website offers clarity with any desired support, along with offering many free streaming channels. I have not experienced any problems in connecting to any of my paid streaming-subscription sites. Best if all, I no longer have to deal for video rentals and return issues. Everything can be watched anytime/anywhere, 24/7. It's necessary to have a nearby computer and wireless network at hand for the initial setup. This avoids any install delays.

I own the Apple TV, Fire TV and Roku. I now wish that I had only bought the Roku as it is slowly replacing them in all my TVs. It has the most channels, super easy to use, and even private channels for TV services that I pay for to watch TV online. It might not have the nice design of the Apple TV but it makes it up in speed and ease of use. If you want to get a streaming stick, Roku is still the King.

I purchased my second Roku for another room's TV. This one is much more compact than my original and has better clarity and perceived speed of streaming. Easy to set-up and use. Just make sure it has all the channels you want before buying.

Easy to setup and works really well. It has a nice search feature that lets you search across all channels. Not sure if a movie is on Netflix, Amazon, or some other channel. Just use the Roku search and it will tell you what channels carry it. My only complaint is that startup time is slow. Other than that it works great and supports all of the channels that I like.

The Roku stick as a player is absolutely wonderful. Plays and streams with little to no buffering and several channels to choose from . The pint anywhere remote only works 15% of the time . We are using the iPhone app as a remote and it's pretty awesome , Way easier to search using the phones keyboard and you can quickly get to Hulu and Netflix .

It is really worth buying this handy streaming product. I like it so much. east to set up and works great. you plug in, connect to the wi-fi and you are ready. The remote controller is so handy and cute. If you like to watch subscribed movie channels like amazon prime, hululu etc, it is really good. on big screen with just a click of the button. I recommend this product.
