When I watched this series for the first time, I was so excited to see and image how Roman lived at that time. Maybe some of stories or settings might be historically true, but it gives they might live such. The second season has more focus on the lives on two main characters. We already know what happened to Caesar, Mark Antony and Octavian. So the stories of Pullo and Vorenus are much more interesting.

Really great Blu-rays. Looks and sounds great on your HDTV. No required previews or excessive trailers before you get to the main menu. You go straight to the menu as you put in the disc. And as the series themselves, I don't have to tell you that it's one of the best that's been produced for HBO. It's a must have Blu-Ray set if you're a fan of the show.

This was definitely a stepping stone for HBO into the exotic productions they have now with such TV's shows as Game of Thrones. Though this series is short, it covers quite a lot of history that later shaped Rome. Acting is superb and production is better than most movies.

As I said about season one, Rome was a lavish production that was wonderful to experience. The only bad thing is that it was cut short of the planned 5 season arc to just two. This resulted in the last few episodes of season 2 feeling rushed as they needs to get to a logical stopping point in a shorter than planned amount of time.

I am a history teacher and I enjoyed this series. This year I read 20 books on Rome and Greece to create the core curriculum for my 6 th grader at my school district. This series depict very well life in ancient history.

I loved how the story was based from the view of two soldiers. You see their side, not that of the larger characters. Though it is great, you cannot let the kids watch it. Definitely for after bed time viewing.

Second season to the Rome in Caesars' time. Won't spoil the first season but this one is geared towards aftermath of Caesars death and Marc Antonys quests

The show runners were given notice that this would be the last season, though they had planned on at least 4, so they compressed three seasons (36 episodes) worth of material into ten episodes. Not a good situation to be in, and if things seem rushed, at least it's better than something like Deadwood, which just ends, leaving all plot threads dangling. The wonderful attention to detail remains, especially on Blu Ray, where all the details shine.

So excited to get such a great deal on this item from Best Buy. Blu-ray quality is the best for picture and sound. I'm hooked!!!

This is a great series for anyone who likes to be entertained while at the same time maybe learn a little bit about history.

The story is great and u fall in love with the characters through their failure and success. I wish they would make more

The second season was better than the first and really showed how ruthless the citizens of ancient Rome were.

i love watching the shows that take place a long time ago back when Rome was a major power to reckon with

Rome is a great show, both seasons. It's about as close as you can get to a big time movie in terms of acting and plot. On blu ray the amazing story is matched in picture and audio quality! A must buy for any historical fiction buff who prefers stories based closely around real stories.
