Great TV series
When I watched this series for the first time, I was so excited to see and image how Roman lived at that time. Maybe some of stories or settings might be historically true, but it gives they might live such.
The second season has more focus on the lives on two main characters. We already know what happened to Caesar, Mark Antony and Octavian. So the stories of Pullo and Vorenus are much more interesting.
Really great Blu-rays. Looks and sounds great on your HDTV. No required previews or excessive trailers before you get to the main menu. You go straight to the menu as you put in the disc. And as the series themselves, I don't have to tell you that it's one of the best that's been produced for HBO. It's a must have Blu-Ray set if you're a fan of the show.
This was definitely a stepping stone for HBO into the exotic productions they have now with such TV's shows as Game of Thrones. Though this series is short, it covers quite a lot of history that later shaped Rome. Acting is superb and production is better than most movies.
