After getting fed up with the poor performance of my Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum, even though it was operating properly, I began researching a new vacuum. I have a large house and it takes a lot of work and time to vacuum it, and I needed a machine that was going to make it easier and work better. I chose the Shark with the XL capacity dirt cup so I wouldn't have to stop and empty it before I was finished. That is actually the only "complaint" I have, it is still kind of small and fills up before I am done. However, that means that it is really sucking up the dirt well, since the Hoover didn't even come close to filling up. So that's OK. The other features of the machine are very helpful and well-designed, such as the motorized head for the stairs and upholstery, since the Hoover didn't even make a dent in the pet hair on the furniture. The Shark sucks it all up. It is also possible to get underneath furniture with the Shark, which is great. The cord is a little longer, so that helps in not having to un-plug it so much and move it to a new plug. I have had it now for a couple of months and am pleased with my decision. I would recommend it.

This vacuum has all the extras needed and has replaced three of my machines. It is light weight and easy to move around. The vacuum has superior cleaning ability and i love how i can detach and go up and down stairs with ease.

Great vacuum. So far the suction is powerful. The only things i didn't like about it. There is no retractable cord and when you use the hose to clean you must hold on to the cannister otherwise it falls over. But love that i can vacuum under the beds.

Not fully acclimated with machine yet. Pleased with suction, lights, pulling power on carpets. It is heavy and needs wand extensions.

The flexibility of this vacuum is awesome! You can use it as a regular upright, canister or portable vacuum. The power and suction are great, too. The vacuum was delivered on the same day after we vacuumed the carpets with our old vacuum. When we tried out this new vacuum, it was incredible how much dust and hair our old vacuum missed. The only drawback is the noise which is louder than other vacuums we've owned, but not a deal breaker for us.

More hardy/sturdy than previous vacuum. More options to match needs. Wish the cord was auto winded up than to have to manually wrap it on then handle.

The Shark Lift Away XL is an excellent vacuum overall. The vacuum is well constructed and easy to assemble. Very good suction and light weight. Does well on carpet and floor surfaces. Very satisfied with this purchase. It does have a moderately high cost, but I would recommend this vacuum.

Previously owned the top Dyson unit but gave it to our son for his first apartment. Replaced w Shark Power Lift-Away XL Hepa and am truly amazed with the stronger suction, power head and light weight design. Wish the hose was a bit longer. Terrific machine.

I love the vacuum. It is very powerful and picks up a lot of dirt. A little heavy to use but very efficient.

Did a lot of research, I had a ,Kirby, and a Electrolux this ranks good as or close as you can get., The suction is excellent on both bare floors or carpets. The really remarkable thing, is the ease of attaching and detaching the different parts. Each piece slides together flawlessly. The only draw back is it's weight, can be a little heavy unless you use the canister attachment which works find and eases the weight issue.

The Vac goes together easily. It has a nice long power cord. It has great pick up power and works well on all types of flooring. My only complaint so far is that it is on the heavy side.

Hello everyone, this vacuum is incredible. The ease of use, lightweight portability with the ability of being used as a canister vac as well as a lift away makes this a perfect vac for any job. The vacuum also has simple access points to unclog any jams, quickly remove the plate over the brush head to remove any hair in a snap. Now the power. When I turn this on you can feel the vacuum lift not only the dirt buried down deep into the carpet but the nails nailed into your floor. You'll walk away seeing and feeling the deep cleaning you've done on your carpet. I tried all dyson models throughout the years, even their top model stick vac. Yeah it's light but after useing Dysons stick vac for a year and bringing this vacuum home the amount of dirt I missed was stunning. You'll never go back to Dyson again after bringing home this powerhouse. Deffinately would reccomend this vac to anyone. Hope this helps everyone!

I have seen shark vacuums advertised on TV for over a year. I said to myself that if my current Rainbow (25 years old) died that I would try a Shark. My Rainbow died a couple of months ago and I went to Best Buy to buy a Shark. If it did not work I could always take it back. Man, was I surprised at the great suction this vacuum had. I had one day before vacuumed and when I ran the Shark over the same area, it picked up much more dirt than previously had. I have used it several times since and I am amazed at the dust and dirt that this unit picks up. It is very easy to operate and easy to maintain. This is a great vacuum with 1200watts of power. I would highly recommend this unit.
