Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is intentionally not a numbered release. It’s experimental in a similar way that Pokémon Legends: Arceus is. It takes the core concepts and updates them for contemporary players. The village building feels a bit like PS2 gen Dark Cloud. The combat is fun and engaging. The open world is enjoyable to explore. I keep getting drawn back in with the gorgeous visuals, engaging story, and interesting characters. Runs a-ok on Switch. Plays perfectly on Switch 2 ($10 upgrade).

Yeah uh. This game is so completely excellent. It's a huge improvement over RF5 if you were worried about that. If you love farming games just buy Azuma!!! ...also like. But I would recommend getting it on Steam if you have a decent computer and getting the standalone collectors edition (no game included) instead of this, since it has frame drops and strong pop in on switch 1. Switch 2 version makes the game feel and look amazing, but it is an extra $10 upgrade compared to PC, and also does not come with collectors switch edition..... It's very different from other RFs, but I still highly recommend it. This is the most I've sunk continuous hours into a farming game for years despite being a mega fan. Oh! Also Fields of Mistria is amazing too. Ok now gameplay First thing is you become chief of 4 villages, where you get to put generic npc villagers to jobs like working the fields, gathering, or running shops. It may not be for everyone but I LOVE this kind of management. The farming is also super fun, especially with the sacred relics that double as weapons and farm tools. You can make things grow faster or harvest en masse. ALSO the best part is clicking right stick to enter "top down mode". It makes farming blazingly fast since u don't have to move your character around, and is also super helpful for placing buildings. I think they also solved the problem from RF5 of the outer world not having enough to do. Like each zone is pretty heavily populated with uniquely crafted terrain, a ton of things to find, frequent enemies, and also a whole zone of floating small islands to go to explore. Like it definitely does not suffer boring empty open world syndrome. ....however they did copy the glider mechanic from BOTW/genshin, and it uh, sometimes it is a little funky. Like if you so much as trip on a rock with the glider equipped, you will start floating and it's kinda slow lol Story I noticed is that the main story is nonexistent until you clear all 4 villages, and I just got here so idk if it actually gets better, but it seems like it is... Regardless, I think the character events are really good and entertaining! They have to be the longest skits in the half of the series I've played so far and involve a lot of other characters per skit, not just the person it's tied to. And my gosh there's so many skits. I'm 33 hours in and kind of feel like there's too much to do! Every day I go to sleep late at night ingame, even without speeding up time by socializing. There's a new mechanic where you can hang out with characters by choosing activities. Mostly it's only a 3 second animation and some reaction dialogue to how they liked it, but it is kinda fun and they could take anywhere from 10 ingame minutes to 60. I got special dialogue from it ONCE so far but it was a funny skit tricking Matsuri about eating 4 dangos...

I love everything about this edition. The game plays overall is very cool in terms of storytelling and character designs. I really like the full game and DLC that are included as a physical copy. The in game guide book is also a physical copy. The woolby keychain is super cute. The cherry blossom paper fan with its acrylic display looks beautiful and is easy to set up in terms of displaying it. The art book is cool and a very fun read. One should handle with care as it is a soft cover. The two disc original cd soundtrack sounds stunning and is very easy to play once placed in a compact disc player. Lastly, I can say that the box art on both the game and box edition is super cool and stunning. It's worth buying this item bundle 100% satisfied customer with Marvelous games and its distributor Best Buy.

I bought this for my wife, who loves rune factory games. I havent played it yet as she is still doing post game content and im playing rf5 since shes not anymore. I have watched her play it and it is an amazing game. The controls are different, but THERES JUMPING!. Its strayed away from classic rune factory games, but i think they kept the spirit of the games and the lore continues (to be vaguely connected). The extra stuff that came in this edition is a nice touch. My wife doesnt walk around with stuffed bag clips, but instantly put the woolby bag clip on her bag she takes to work! I definitely recommend buying this if you are a rune factoy fan, and its a good easy introduction to new fans.

This collectors edition is very nice. Box art looks great on the shelf. Nice art book. Game is really fun and looks great on switch 2.

I picked up my order in person and it came with everything! The game is great as well so far! If you love Rune factory series, this is definitely a must play! It's a lot different from the usual in the series and I appreciate it for trying some different things. Definitely a step up from Rf5 if you played it! Idk if it beats rf4 for me but I still enjoy it none the less. Would reccomend you give it a try!

I absolutely love this game! It has a bit of everything, you can customize your village, you can do combat, tame monsters, grow crops, there’s always something you can be doing in a satisfying gameplay loop If you’re tired of Farming, spend time talking with villagers or fighting monsters The game lets you play the way you want to and no matter what you are making progress towards your overall goals. I know I’m not doing it justice but please give it a try if you are interested!

The NPCs are interesting and well thought out, and the graphics are amazing. It's a really fun game. Plus, it's very beginner friendly, so if you're unsure of the series, this is a good place to start. Also, the items that come in the earth dancer edition are beautiful, especially the fan and art book.

Great game! A different spin on the Rune Factory series. Overall great digital quality, ease of play, and variety of tasks. The bonus bundle was good value as well.

The limited edition looks really awesome. I like the fan, 2 cds soundtrack, plush keychain and the artbook. It’s awesome.

Dont sleep on this if your a rune factory fan. Guardians of Azuma is probably onenkf my favorite entries. Third person, romance, sim management, say less. The collectors edition is a nice touch. Pretty standard and fair in terms of pricing.

I did not dislike anything they product was great and the game was amazing if expedition 33 did not come out this year it would be top of the list. Everything in the box set was high quality and very nice gotta respect it all

This is a Wonderful edition of the game and comes with so many cool items, my only complaint was there wasnt a switch 2 version
