This is the BEST 360 action camera. The hardware camera is excellent and the software is completely intuitive. The company even does over-the-air updates to the device and software. If you know how to use Instagram you will be able to use this.

I have owned MANY 360 cams in my LIFE and this one is by far the worse. I currently use LG 360 cam and Samsung 360 cam which out perform the RYLO in every way except in Resolution. This camera is a great 1st time user camera but i highly suggest to be in a very well lit room or just be outside with it. This camera does not have any option to adjust iso or exposure so when filming in a room with a bright light it will auto dim due to it capturing the light and not the room brightness so your video will be very very dark. I got this camera to make 360 DIY videos in my garage but failed on its face almost immediately. here is a link to my video i made in my garage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mByg7_l3Go&feature=youtu.be

Bought this in replacement of the GoPro Fusion, which was a total nightmare and mess to handle. This one is very easy to use, only requires one memory card and comes with the best smartphone software ever.

Purchased this to use on a trip, with my grandsons, to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Zion National Parks. The video images were great and the ability to look at every angle for the best video possible was outstanding.

When everything works it is a great camera and really great video, however the camera and especially the outdoor protection case are very delicate. The outdoor case will scratch if you look at it too hard. The software where the magic happens is a little difficult to learn.

We really like the Rylo 360. We use it on our Go Kart that we compete at National Level Events. This one Camera allows us to capture what is going on around the Kart during a race. A must have at our level of racing.

I got this camera hoping to use it for vr this is not that kind of camera, the picture quality is not that good to to use it for vr but with that being said for general 360 pics and videos and for the ability control scenes it is pretty groundbreaking.

Rylo 360: Making 360 Video Useful

NOTE: Although I did try the iPhone app on a borrowed phone, this review is focused on Android phone app. The Rylo 360 is really a new category of camera, capturing video in 360 degrees (spherical video), then allowing you to select the section of the image you want. The result is a standard Full HD(16:9) video. Think of it as an action cam that lets you point the camera after you've recorded the video. Or a VR cam The software is very impressive and is under active development for additional features and quality improvements. The camera is small with two opposing fisheye lenses on either side. There is a display that shows the recording type, remaining battery life and recording time. The controls are simple, one button for on-off(long press)/start-stop recording, and one button to scroll through the recording type on the screen. The camera will record 360 degree video, 180 degree video (forward facing), and panaramic stills. Additionally, there is a small door to access the battery compartment and MicroSD slot and a MicroUSB connector. The camera comes with charging (microUSB to USB-A) and data transfer cables for either iPhone or Android. There is no desktop app or interface. The camera feels very solid and should prove durable. It is not intrinsicly waterproof, however there is an optional Adventure Case ($69) that provides dust and water proofing (to 3 meters). Both the included everyday case and the adventure case have a GoPro compatible mount. The everyday case includes a small selfie stick, which was surprisingly useful at getting my hand out of the picture. The horizon correction and stabilization are excellent, even rather astonishing, and are really the strong suit of the Rylo. I did notice that the stabilization is not quite as good in 180 degree as it was in 360 degree, but it was still very impressive. Handholding the cam in a car going over a speedbump showed no bounce in the image at all! Video sharpness is good, but finished videos is limited to 1080p. The color accuracy is good, but the saturation could be a bit greater. Still photos are also limited to 1080p. There is a bit of a learning curve for those of us oldtimers used to a viewfinder and following the subject, like you would with an action cam. The Rylo captures everything. It was actually easier to just hold the camera still and then 'follow' the subject later using the app. Speaking of which, in the editing app there are both a 'point here' and a 'follow this' option. Follow this allows you to set an object and the app will pan and tilt to create the illusion that you were following the subject. It worked pretty well, although it occasionally went off on the wrong object, which was easily corrected. Negatives: - Bluetooth control and triggering are available in the iPhone, but not in the Android app yet, although it's promised soon. To control settings other than recording type you have to connect the phone and camera via usb cable, kind of a pain. - The settings are very limited, even by action cam standards. - There is no desktop app. While you may go directly from phone to display, doing any post production work means transferring from the camera to the phone to the desktop. - The storage location for the spherical and extracted videos is fixed. Since most Android phones support a large microSD card, it would be really nice to be able to set in app where the videos get stored. Figure a gig a minute for storage space, so you need a lot of free space on your phone's internal storage. - If it's not on Rylo's list of approved microSD cards for the camera, assume it won't work. - Low light performance is poor. Summary: This is a really fun camera, doubling as both a VR cam and an action cam. It doesn't require a VR headset to appreciate it. The really incredible horizon correction and stabilization allow you to take attractive video effortlessly. And it's possible to create multiple videos from one recording with different points of view, for example following different subjects. Each update seems to bring new functions to the camera, really looking forward to seeing what's next.

The camera does amazing things and allows you to not worry about what is in the frame or not in the frame as you can then decide what you want it to focus on when editing after the fact. Would recommend.

I had always wanted an action camera to capture those moments that were difficult with a phone, but I had never wanted to deal with all the various aspects of uploading and editing the footage to which I can definitely say the Rylo fixed all that for me. The ease of use simply to connect the camera directly to my iPhone and edit the footage was amazingly simple!! The main reason I was intrigued by the Rylo was that one of the key product features was how simple the interface was to edit video and I can definitely agree that it truly is as easy as advertised. The 360 degree aspect was just as impressive as I had never used a 360 degree camera before and it was amazing not having to worry about constantly moving the camera to follow the area you`re trying to capture. The stability with the Rylo combined with the 360 degree aspect only adds to how great this camera is as the video quality is great and thus makes editing the footage easier. The other feature I did find useful was the ability to use all gopro attachments with the Rylo thus making there an abundance of attachments to use with the Rylo. The only downside I could come up with was that an Adventure Case was needed for underwater use and then it was only resistant up to 10 feet. The Adventure Case was one accessory that I feel I may end up purchasing for the piece of mind later on just to improve durability. Overall though the numerous positives with the Rylo from the great stability and ease of use far outweigh this one negative. Just the minimalistic approach with this camera to the appealing asthetics combined with the exceptional hardware and software capability makes this something that I can definitely recommend to others and I would definitely argue that this is the top 360 degree camera on the market surpassing the gopro fusion and samsung gear 360.

Great Camera, Not So Great Software

I travel frequently for my job and own a motorcycle. I was looking for a one stop shop 360 camera that would allow me to capture everything but not spend the extra that a Go Pro would give me. The images that it exported was great and the form factor was perfect to through into my backpack. However, the only software to do anything with the collected images are available on your mobile phone. This caused my Galaxy Note 8 to lock up under larger videos (5 mins or more) and rendered the editing options to complex for quick flix. It's a great camera for quick clips that you don't plan on editing a lot but will need a PC software to help put them in the same boat as the others.
