Kickstand not ideal

Unable to get the kickstand to work as shown on the higher angle, which would be helpful for videos and online meetings etc. Unless its that non-intutitive. We have been searching online attempting to see what we could be missing but so far not happening. Otherwise i love the case aestetically pleasing & love the clear back to show off my purple ipad! May need to replace with one more functional.
