Didn't like this game at all played it twice and that was really it. I didn't think the game stuck with its original story.

If you like prototype 2, you must try this

I played SR2 for couple hours and it was not a game I liked. But this game is just so different. It's a lot like prototype 2 but just crazier. You get to super jump and glide around the city and use your super powers, blast, stomp, telekinesis, and buff. Each power gets 3-4 different varieties so you're looking at 12-16 different manual powers.
The story is cheesy and funny but in a good way. Lots of old movie easter eggs.
You can probably rush thru the main story in one weekend. If you do the side quests and the collectables, it'll give you 20 hours more of crazy fun.
I know I gave 4 points across the board but this is definitely a 5 star game. It's just fun to play.

Well, what can I say, its a Saint's Row game. It features blatantly ridiculous situations, and ups the ante through the whole game.
I'm having a great time with it, and if you're a fan of the franchise, don't pass it up. That said, the mechanics of this game essentially means that you won't play it like Saint's Row before. The superpowers in this game, while fun, basically ruin certain aspects of the game that you may have loved before. For example, since you can jump over buildings and run faster than any vehicle, why would you ever spend time in a car, much less upgrade it? Since you can send enemies flying with a stomp and shoot fireballs, why would you make sure your shotgun is upgraded all the way?
I've experienced a lot of bugs and general glitchiness, but nothing game breaking, just annoying (and I'm not talking about the intentional "glitches" in there for effect). Safehouses are gone, replaced by multiple entrances to one safehouse, and I feel like there are less NPC's in the world to interact with. The world always looks the same because its always night time, etc. The game is built on the same engine and looks exactly the same as SR3, so there aren't any presentational improvements here either. Honestly, the game feels more like a really big expansion pack for SR3 than a whole new game.
But, I'm a negative nancy, and like to point the bad. The story is unapologetically great and is even crazier than the previous game, and there are some very good jokes in here. For long time fans, there are a lot of throwback references to characters/events from the entire series. The characters you created/downloaded for SR3 are usable in this game too.
In short: great game, but doesn't bring as much to the table as Saints Row 3 did. Also, you can move around like a mixture between Crackdown and Prototype. Lord knows I've always wanted to try that in a GTA-like game, and this was it.

This is game is so fun, having awesome powers is fun. Only bad thing about the game is should not be 60 dollars because it seems like a dlc from saints row 3. besides that fun awesome game

A great follow-up to The Third....

This game is fun, with a great soundtrack, however it should not have been released as a full $59.99 title -- $39.99 would have been more like it. It suffers from Crackdown-syndrome -- reusing the same game world and map, with some updated features, powers and abilities.
If you enjoyed Saints Row: The Third, give this game a shot.

This is it. This is the perfect "fun" game, a game that you can kick back with and have a blast no matter what you choose to do. Want to do a mission involving a Godzilla-sized can of Saints Flow Energy Drink? Want to run up a skyscraper, jump off and then rocket to earth with a blast that levels three city blocks? Want to run around naked armed with a gun that fires toilet plungers which explode into toxic farts? This game lets you do all that and more. The only downside is that there are multiple glitches at present, which could dull the experience for some. If you love having fun, you'll love this game.

Saints Row IV is terrific in the way that it doesn't take itself seriously and the game play mechanics are pretty easy to figure out. It's essentially a ridiculous version of Crackdown. At times it gets to be a little too much, but nothing that a little break can't cure.

I've always like Grand Theft Auto more than Saint's Row, but this one lets you have superpowers. Nuff said.

Campy crazier GTA, but not for everyone.

The game was amusing at first. Then you realize this game almost completely reuses the world from Saints Row 3. Yes, they did add some extras, but it felt lazy and cheap that the devs did not bother to improve the graphics from SR3 to SR4. Feels like a very extended DLC for SR3. It had it's usual SR humor and campiness, but honestly it's not for everyone. If you haven't played SR3, I would recommend skipping this.

Aliens? Super powers?? Dumbest thing I've ever heard. Same cars, same characters with the same clothes, same city, same customizations, same pedestrians the list goes on and on. Beyond disappointed I hope gta smokes its sales.
