Excellent video for 2 types of people. The 70mm 8k Ultradigital HD is beyond any other scan process used on any other bluray than this movies prequel Baraka. The quality of the video is almost unreal. A must if you ever want to see the full capabilities of your TV. So perfect for a test video or to calibrate your tv with. Also anybody into the koyantiqatsi trilogy or Ron Fricke's other films like Chronos and Baraka. This movie is a beautiful introspective voyeuristic look at some of the most amazing things this planet has to offer.

With original 70mm shooting, 8k scanning and 4k mastering, this 1080p blu-ray is a real great visual treatment. Each frame of this movie is a beautiful and powerful picture, with the lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround track, it becomes a flowing song. If you have seen the previous Baraka, this is a must see for you.

The colors in the movie are just stunning! It takes you on a journey around the world! I absolutely loved the visual aspect of the film! Of course it was filmed in 8k but since it's on a blu Ray the resolution is in 1080p, but that doesn't matter if want to watch the film for what it's got to show!

If you liked Baraka then you should definitely check this out. If you haven't seen Baraka you should definitely check this out. It's a wonderful documentary without words, only video, of themes of birth, destruction, and rebirth throughout human cultures.

The movie was mastered in 8K, and played on a 4K upscaling Blu-ray player the picture is amazing on a 4K tv set. I wish more movies are made with 8K mastering. This disc and Baraka are the only two that I am aware of that is mastered in 8K.

what a wonderful movie. unbelievable shots of people and places around the world. great music to accompany the film too. a truly awesome picture. would be great also for a background movie during a party. really cool stuff. go get it!!!

This is an incredible visual display that I would recommend over and over again.

If you liked Baraka, you will like Samsara. The cinematography is just as good, and combine with the sound and editing in the same thought-provoking manner. Like Baraka, the Samsara blu-ray is light on extras, just a making-of doc, though it's pretty comprehensive, as informative (if not more so) than a director's commentary.

Nice capture of beauty and beneath. Nice color range and good quantities of both light and dark imagery

reminds me of the trilogy from a couple years ago, unbelievable eye candy

This is the best quality blu ray I have ever seen. The segments showing animals going to slaughter are a bit disturbing. The worst scene was the chicken slaughter house. I am an animal lover & I found that portion very disturbing. It would have been better if there was some way to know what the locations of filming were. Many are very beautiful but I don't really know where they are. Overall it was a beautiful trip while staying in my own home.

This is what blu ray movies are meant for. Amazing sound and visuals!

I Somehow, Samsara does not evoke the same feeling as when watching the previous release, Baraka....but it is a good effort, worth a watch

So if you're looking at this review, you probably have an understanding of what movies of this genre are all about. Though this is not the best movie I've seen, the fact that it's in blu ray makes it worth it. It's visually stimulating & definitely makes you think. Open your mind and watch this movie.

this blu-ray is just amazingly jaw dropping, the picture quality is one of the top 10 ive ever seen, it is definately demo material, the scenery is just beatiful, the score is amazing and its a great watch

A film to just let wash over you--so beautiful and breathtaking in so many ways--one of if not the best Blu-ray transfers ever!

If you own an Acer H6510BD switch it to 3D and get ready! :) Beautiful scenery.
