The sounds can be heard throughout the house. I tried to do some research and it appeared it could be caused by the coils touching each other and that there's a bulletin on it. I contacted Samsung and they were absolutely no help. They said it happens cause of the plastics used in the design (for $3000 I would expect better) and happens when new. Mine is 6 months old so not sure what definition of new is. I just ordered a Samsung dishwasher but will cancel that for now.
