Great Dishwasher, Drying could be better

I purchased this during 4th of July sale and installed it a few days later. It runs so quiet you can barley hear that it is running. The lights on the front let you know which cycle it is on. Although it cleans great, the drying is ok. The new requirements of dishwashers leave the finish a little wet unless you use the sanitary cycle. It uses a little more electricity but dry's them great. I would purchase it again for the sale price I got it at.

I am really happy with this purchase. I was not a big fan of dishwasher I always liked the idea of doing dishes by hand I just thought it was a better way to make sure they were really CLEAN. I decided to give dishwashers a try, I bought this one and I am amazed at what a great job it does, my dishes come out clean and the sanitize option its great. I add the rinse aid so that thre won't be any waterspots. The only thing I wish it had is the air dry but even without it its does a good job my dishes are almost completely dry all the time.

Poor design - even worse Samsung Customer Service

I started having odor issues with this dishwasher not even a month after purchasing it on 5/25/14. I've had 6 techs out to look at it and they recommend things like changing the detergent, running the hot water, using Jet Dry, etc. to re-plumbing through the garbage disposal. I've complied with all of their suggestions. No parts were ever replaced on the unit and the one part that the 6th tech is saying should be replaced Samsung is stating that it's a "customer maintenance issue" and claiming that I've never cleaned the dishwasher and damaged it. To make a really long story short - it's now 4/30/15 and I'm being denied service on it because it's in Samsung's system that I've damaged it and it's a "customer maintenance issue." Never mind the fact that it's been an ongoing issue for nearly a year. I've spent nearly 8 hours on the phone with Samsung & Lowe's, not to mention the emails and now reviews that are being spent on this. I don't want another customer to have the same experience and am hoping this is a fluke, but I know I personally won't take the chance on another Samsung Appliance. Thankfully I purchased the Lowe's Protection Plan and will eventually be able to get some help, but will have to wait another month to start the process ALL over again. SIGH! The bad thing is that I bought a fridge and dishwasher at the same time - I used to love Samsung, now I'll never buy another appliance from them again. The poor design I feel is the bottom door gasket - it's woven into the door and has 3 slits on the left, right and center, this allows for water to get it, build up, and stink. This isn't the only issue with this dishwasher as it wouldn't have started stinking so soon, especially since I rise my dishes before putting them in as well as wipe down access water on the door before closing it. OH and all 3 service companies (Colorado): Brand Source, A&E Appliance, & One Source Appliance Repair ALL LIED in their service notes. Gee, do you think they're taught that?

Our Bosch stop working after 18 months. My Wife said replace it because she hated the way you had to load it. It also didn't clean well. I told her to pick what she wanted. First priority was a rack system that worked well. Second was no filter. She picked the Samsung. We have had it for 3 months and she (and therefore me) are very happy. It holds a lot, including odd shaped items. It cleans great.

This is an upgrade from my 7 year old builder grade. Comparing the 2 I like the fact that my old one did attempt to dry the dishes. It also accepted all types of cleanser from liquid, tabs and powder. This one only accepts tabs and you must buy a drying agent like Jet Dry. My previous experiences with dishwashers have never required me to use Jet Dry or the tabs. More expensive to wash in my opinion. Even using these cleansers it still does not dry which was my main goal in spending the extra money for this one. I assumed it and should have read the specs in more detail. It is much more quieter than my old one and you don't have to rinse the dishes 1st . Just throw them in with the food and all. I do like that feature so I can live without the drying and overlook the more expensive cost of washing just for those 2 features alone. Get a better dryer and I would give 5 stars. Also, if you have fat fingers or large hands make sure you have enough room left between the counter and the dishwasher. It must be closed and then press the start button. I've had this product for 2 weeks now. Purchased on sale.

Samsung Dishwasher Worse Than 250 dollar Models

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this dishwasher July of 2014. By March I was already having problems. I'm a once-a-week user of light loads, as I don't cook, and always rinse before using dishwasher. In March I contacted Best Buy with a "Smart Auto + Heavy" error code (light blinking) issue, they referred me to Samsung. It wasn't until June that I was able to get around to calling and, because I didn't have the Serial Number handy (I was at work) they told me to call back. At that time I had already explained what was happening and ran a troubleshoot (basically turning off and on at the fuse box) to no avail. In July I call again (12th, to be exact, while dishwasher was delivered and installed on the 10th of July) and was told to run a cycle and see if lights come back on. Since they didn't want to wait on hold for who knows how long, they told me to call back: if the lights came on again, Samsung would honor repair within warranty time (because I report it in June) and to just call back and get the technician visit set up. I call back two days later, after I ran the cycle, to set this up. This time I'm told nothing will be covered within warranty and that it doesn't matter that I reported the issue within warranty time. I call again and asked to speak with higher level Customer Service - this time I'm told they'll cover my parts but not labor. The company they referred me to called to set up the appointment (Unique Repair services: 2.1 Google rating, 2 stars on Yelp) with the following: not able to estimate labor costs, 109 dollar charge up front (will count toward labor cost, if labor is performed), not refundable is labor is NOT performed; 50 dollar cancellation. This is unresolved - I'm calling Samsung back to see if other options are available. Do not buy this machine. You will hate yourself for spending so much on something that does NOT clean regularly used glasses and dishes, nevermind heavily soiled pots. My comparison is being a renter at one point and using a plastic Frigidaire or Whirlpool - one of the cheaper models. I complained then - but, compared to that cheap model this Samsung appliance is only garbage worthy. It's also awkward to open (because it's deep) and the way dishes fit into the unit leaves a lot to be desired - apparently they've never seen or heard of bowls and pots. PROS: Stainless steel; overall nice look; tall CONS: Everything else I wish I listened to the 3-star rating on Best Buy, but it was on sale and I kind of jumped the gun. I admit that the 'warranty' bit may be my fault, for taking too long to get it going - but the machine never cleaned well (using Finish tabs and even high end liquid detergent, along with JetDry and other finishing liquids), left streaks, and now it's been sitting in the kitchen, unused, since March.

I wanted to love this dishwasher

I use my Samsung dishwasher on an almost daily basis and I can honestly say this is the worst dishwasher I have ever used. I will say that my dishes do come out clean-which is why there are 3 stars instead of one or two, but the cons of this dishwasher make it so that I cannot give it a 4 or 5 star review. Cons: -For being such a large dishwasher it doesn't fit as many dishes that I need it to on a daily basis. The spacing in the baskets is weird-Samsung could have done a better job on the design to maximize utilization of the space. -It smells-frequently. I've never had a dishwasher smell so bad and I've never had a dishwasher as needy as this one when it comes to routine cleaning. -It's quiet at first and over time just gets loud. I loved how quiet this dishwasher was in the beginning. We couldn't even tell if it was on without going over to see if the lights were on, but sadly over time this dishwasher has become loud and obnoxious. Samsung's FAQ's and Troubleshooting only goes over grinding noises (which mine doesn't have) it's simply just gotten louder over time. All in all I will probably never buy another Samsung dishwasher and I would not recommend this one to anyone.

Although it is quiet, it does not lend itself to easy loading. I cannot get half as many dishes in this unit as my previous one. I purchased this as part of a Black Friday package and regret it. I wish I had paid more attention to the inside set-up. Silverware racks fall of if bumped even slightly. Tings of both baskets don't allow for easy loading. It gets dishes clean if bowls etc are not placed together, you have to leave at least one or two empty spaces between each item.

The first dishwasher we received did not work properly and leaked out of the back. It would also automatically go straight towards heavy load no matter what setting you chose. However, Best Buy was great and immediately brought out a new one with a quick delivery date. This one now works great! It is quiet (other than some initial noise when starting) and cleans thoroughly. We have kids and the plastic cups and plates do need some additional drying but that's expected.

    Terrible customer service

This is the first and last time that I will write a review for a Samsung product, because I will never be purchasing one again. Until my last experience with Samsung, I believed that they were a good company with solid products. As a consumer, I expect my product to work as designed and for that manufacturer to stand behind whatever warranty may accompany that product; pretty simple. I have never actually taken the time to write anything like this and post it on the internet, but here is my story and I truly hope that it dissuades anyone from purchasing a Samsung product under the false assumption that you have the backing of the manufacturer if anything should go wrong with your product. I purchased my dishwasher (Model # DW80F600UTS) in mid April of 2014 from Lowes. I paid around $500 and for the money, it did the job. In February of 2015, less than a year after I purchased the unit, it started having problems. Like you might read on countless other reviews and forms, the "smart auto" and "heavy" lights would start flashing 10 minutes into the cycle, the dishwasher would drain, and the dishwasher would not clean the dishes. Upon investigating the issue, I discovered that this is an indication that there is a problem with the float switch. Again, simple problem, but with the number of issues related to this one topic, it is very clear that there is a defect in the dishwasher's design. Here is a complete list of the calls I made to Samsung and the numerous challenges I encountered: February 18, 2014 - Called and described the problem. Samsung contacted an appliance service company (So Cal Tech, Inc.) in my area to address the issue. February 20, 2014 - Service center calls me to set an appointment to fix the issue once they receive 2 parts, the float switch and main board. "Parts will be in in 2 days and we will be there to fix the dishwasher." February 26, 2014 - I call the service center because they have not called to set an appointment. "The parts aren't in yet, we will call when they arrive." March 2, 2014 - Service center calls and sets the appointment to come fix my dishwasher March 5, 2014 - Repair man arrives. Extremely rude to my wife. Curses his company as he tells her that they only sent him 1 part he needs. Repair man leaves, dishwasher not functioning. I call the service center...we will have the part in in 2 days. March 9, 2014 - I call the service center because they have not called to set an appointment. "The part isnt't in yet, we will call when they arrive." March 16, 2014 - Part arrives, repair scheduled March 19, 2014 -Repair man arrives, installs the main board. Dishwasher appears to run ok, but after the repair man leaves, it does the same thing. I call Samsung and I am told they need to fix the float switch again. I tell them that I am not going to accept that, so I am transferred to their "executive customer service team". I explain the issue and they put it in review to have the unit replaced. I am promised that they will call back within 48 hours. March 26, 2014 - Instead of a call back from Samsung, I get another repair center. This time they tell me that I am going to be charged for the service. I say absolutely not, and that I will call Samsung. Again, I am transferred to the "executive customer service team", who states they don't know why I wasn't called back and they couldn't find a note on the review in their system. Again, I am told that they are going to review the case for replacement and that I will hear back in 48 hours. April 2, 2014 - Samsung never calls back. I call again. Transferred to the "executive customer service team". This time, I tell the nice lady on the other end of the phone that I am not going to accept a call back and that I wanted to speak to someone that could resolve this issue immediately. She talks over me for a minute, reciting the process that I have to follow, after which, she hangs up on me. I call back, enraged, transferred to the "executive customer service team". Find out that the lady that just hung up on me has closed my pending issue ticket. I explain what I have been through, I am promised a callback from the supervisor of the "executive customer service team". April 9, 2014 - Guess what, Samsung never called back. I call, get transferred to the "executive customer service team" and like an idiot, I allow them to do ANOTHER review. I ask the representative to take notes on the entire story. At the end, I ask what he has written down (there were several times I was on hold for him to put the notes in the system) and he hasn't recorded a single note. We go through it again, he reads it back to me. And I am PROMISED a call back in 48 hours. April 15, 2014 - Getting sick of this yet? I am. No call back from Samsung. What they did do, is have another service center call me and offer to come fix the dishwasher. Just as I am about the explode, they also inform me that I am out of warranty and that I will be charged if they come to fix it. April 22, 2014 - Now I'm here. 20 hours on the phone with Samsung over a $500 dishwasher and all I ever wanted them was to stand behind their product. Thanks Samsung. Dishwasher is still not working and I am done spending my time on trying to get Samsung to do anything about it. If you read this and still buy an appliance from them, then I hope you spend a couple hundred extra bucks on an extended warranty...you're going to need it.

This dishwasher broke down the second time that we used it. Some defective electronic water sensor. Even when it's working, it doesn't clean well despite pre-rinsing and rinse agent. I never pre-rinsed with the Maytag I had before and the dishes came out perfectly clean. Would not buy it again. Very disappointed with Samsung.

No worse than most dishwashers I have owned. Does not do well with unrinsed dishes or dried-on food, even on heavy settings. But it's nice and quiet and does a great job as long as you take a pass at the dishes before you load and run.

There's too much to say. Bottom line: This dishwasher is not dependable, it does smell bad regardless of following instructions and most of all Samsung does not have a system in place to really help REGARDLESS of buying an extended warranty from them. You are buying into possible time-wasting torment if you purchase this product. We're on the phone with Samsung for the 4th time and have been on the phone 5 times with their service agent who is as frustrated as we are.

I bought and self installed this dishwasher probably 18-24 months ago. I am not a pro but have installed dishwashers before and this one was no problem to hook up. It runs whisper quiet and cleans well enough. My first problem popped up just after the warranty expired. The flood sensor tripped because somehow a very little water had accumulated in the pan under the unit. I had to uninstall the unit, confirm the problem, and reinstall. I have no idea how that water got in there and it didn't trip again. Now there is a different error code---high water level code preventing it from running complete cycle. It will only run on smart mode cycle but no other. Again, I am no pro but this seems like a defect problem. Some research points to it being a common issue requiring over $200 in parts plus the labor to pull, repair and reinstall. I will be using the unit until I can no longer get it to run and then yanking it the heck out. My next unit will be researched and not chosen just because my wife likes the racks and silverware baskets.

I have had my dishwasher since July 2014. The original one that was installed had to be replaced instantly due to an error code. Now, my dishwasher will not even turn on. We have contacted Samsung by using their online application. However we have not heard back from anyone. We purchased the entire Samsung kitchen package from Best Buy and the dishwasher has been nothing but trouble... I sure hope Samsung pulls through because I don't think I should have to be dealing with this!! I don't like having to wash dishes with a kitchen less than a year old... Frustrated!!!

I purchased the previous version of this dishwasher, and the install was easy. The pro's- cleans great, and super quiet; stainless steel looks great too. Cons- only after 5 years, the circuit board for the control panel has corroded out twice, making the dishwasher perform erratically... starting and stopping whenever it wants. The circuit board is located in the in the door and collects a lot of hot moist air during the dishwashing process, causing the circuit board to corrode. So, I think the build quality is very poor- the circuit board should better sealed and protected from the interior of the dishwasher. A working dishwasher is something you take for granted and never know how inconvenient it is when it breaks, and you have to hand wash dishes. Hind sight, I would have purchased a bosch instead, and in the future, I will definately inspect the interior door and build quality before purchasing.

Bought this based on good specs and reviews for $$$. Dead Wrong!! Constant issues: Do not buy this. Dirt sensor for smart cycle requires constant attention (once a month cleaning). This requires dismantling lower arm and removing filter ( about 20 screws). Also twice now had to clear water level switch. It requires removing dishwasher from cupboard. Totally disgusted with this product. Got rid of a perfectly working louder washer to get this. Its definitely quieter because it spends a lot of time not working or not completing cycle. Don't comment that our dishes are to dirty we've tried thoroughly rinsing them before placing t hem in the washer. Nothing works and issues arose just out of the 0ne -year warranty. My wife even used it a while with issues not realizing that it wasn't finishing wash cycle. It's been horrible!

    Samsung low/mid range

I chose this 'lesser' version due to better reviews than the next two models up. I replaced a stainless finish / tub Maytag with this one. Feature wise they are about the same. The racks seems easier to populate and my wife loves the dual silverware racks. It does a good job cleaning the dishes but it not as quiet as I was expecting. For my install it barely fit in the cabinet space. The back of the unit is pinned against the back wall to get it under my cabinet. It must be a side effect of maximum interior space. This unit also wastes no space underneath. The means channels under the unit for the power cord and water supply. This also meant I had to replace my water supply line to accommodate. My only other complaint was the front height adjusters are plastic and simply screw in and out via the foot to adjust. It would have been a GREAT help to be able to adjust the height from the top of the adjustable feet. For the back an allen screw sets the height (from the front of the unit), easy as can be. Too bad the front wasn't as nice. Overall I'm happy with the purchase but I feel I paid a premium for the Samsung name.
