    Great Dish Washer

I purchased this dishwasher to replace my GE Profile that worked for 13 years. This unit is so quiet that you need to be very near it to hear it running. This unit cleans well and I like how we can arrange the bottom rack to place pots and plates. It dries fine without using the sanitize feature and so far we really like it.

Do comparing and read all reviews, before buying. Bought 12/29/15, and already the start light doesn't work. Beware the handle does stick out pretty far, and can cause issues if next to a corner drawer. Have to open washer, to open drawer. My bad, but didn't think it stuck out so far. Would of bought one with no handle protruding. Does clean OK. Doesn't dry. Uses sanitize to heat water very hot, to dry. Plastics don't dry at all.

    Poor washing, smell, and noise

I rarely review products except when one stands out as either exceptional or terrible. In the case of this Samsung, it is terrible and I feel that people should without a doubt realize the issues prior to actually buying. I should let you know also- I typically do my due diligence when making purchases no matter the product (expensive appliance or chargeable phone case). But in this case, I was out shopping with my mother in law and did not have time. So I went with the recommendation of the Best Buy salesperson who was very helpful but apparently uninformed as to the issues of this product. That being said, here are the glaring problems with this dishwasher. First, you must realize that this does NOT have a drying element. Therefore, you need to use a rinse aid. As of yet, I have not had an issue with spotty glasses, etc. But I had specifically asked the salesperson if it had one and she affirmed. Again, partially my fault for not checking this out and being in a hurry. Secondly, realize that you also need to WASH every dish prior to loading it in the washer. And I do not mean just rinse off. I typically rinsed my dishes and if there was heavy soiling, I wiped them off before loading (I had a Jenn Air for 13 years that this Samsung replaced). So keeping with that, I did the same for the Samsung. Be aware that anything you do not scrub off prior will not come off in the wash and you will have to rewash the dish. An example- made a stir fry which contained green onion. I rinsed the bowl, sponged off all of the big chunks but left a few tiny chopped pieces of green onion clinging to the plate. Small, about 1/2 a cm. These did not come off in the wash even in the heavy cycle. Any food product you leave on the dishes will not come off in the wash. Next is noise level. I did not expect this to be as quiet as say a Bosch as the decibel level is 48. However, as I sit writing this review in another room, I can hear my dishwasher running in the kitchen. So having a conversation while in the kitchen would not necessarily be feasible. Lastly, after I purchased this and had it installed I read some reviews. Mainly because our repairman said I should return it before I use it and see if I can get something different. While reading the reviews, I saw several that stated the dishes had a strange odor after. This is true. They basically stink. At first, I thought to chalk this up to being new and the smell would go away after several washes. This is not the case. So be aware, your dishes won't smell clean. I didn't return this within the 15 days because I did not want the hassle of calling the repair man again to install another one. Best Buy would refund or credit an installation fee (again, not their fault, the dishwasher was my choice). I did get the extended warranty after reading the reviews and talking to the repairman. Because apparently, after about a year the ECB goes and needs replacing. So I will deal with the issue at that time. Overall, this is a terrible machine for the money. The 3.7 rating is not accurate. Prior to purchasing, read other reviews on this machine from other sites.

    Terrible Diswasher - Worse Company

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This dishwasher is absolutely terrible. The primary thing I wanted in a dishwasher was for it to clean my dishes. This one does not. I replaced the failed 'builder quality' dishwasher and decided to 'upgrade'. The Samsung unit looked great and had a lot of great features on paper - and it was on sale so I went for it. Since day one is has not cleaned the dishes properly. I called Best Buy who referred me to Pacific Sales who referred me to Samsung. After a few months of trying everything Samsung told me to try [different detergents, different rinse aids, always running it on extended cycles, etc.] they finally sent a service person out. He ran the dishwasher and confirmed that the unit filled with water, spun the spray arms and drained the water. That was all he was qualified to diagnose, so he wrote it up as 'The Unit functions to specification', but noted that the dishes were not getting clean, The second service tech was a bit more skilled and could actually invoke a diagnostic mode and check for faults. None were found so he also wrote 'Functions per specifications' and also noted on the service order that the dishes were not clean. I called the manufacturer and requested an RA No. to return the unit but they refused stating it 'functions to specs'. I asked them which specs, and in particular what is the spec for the cleanliness of the dishes. They admitted that they don't have specs for cleanliness, but they were not going to return the unit since no faulty parts were found and I had waited too long - even though I was working with them for months to resolve the issue! This is pretty basic stuff. The issues we had included lip prints on glasses, mustard or sauces on plates, most anything in a bowl, and even coffee drips down the outside of a mug don't come clean. I did not have any of these issues with my prior dishwasher and none of my neighbors have issues with their dishwasher, so water quality is not the issue - this was another excuse Samsung used. The company states all kinds of values on their website but does not stand up to them. Based on this product and my experience with the company I will NEVER buy another SAMSUNG product again. I encourage everyone to stick with manufacturers who stand behind their products. I am working with the Best Buy manager to see what they can do. Hopefully they will be able to exchange the unit for me. I will keep you posted.

I had a Kenmore dishwasher for 20 yrs and it cleaned better than this one till the day it broke. The dishwasher broke right before Christmas and we purchased this Samsung at local Best Buy. It does not clean well, smells funny if not run for several days and service is non existent. I called Samsung to find out why not cleaning properly and was told to have plumber check installation. Plumber told me everything looks good I let it go because we were remodeling our kitchen in the spring and was moving the dishwasher and asked new plumber to make sure everything was correctly done and he assured me it was. Dishwasher still not cleaning and smell continues. Called Samsung again they gave me a name of repair person to call with a work number. Service person never returned my phone calls after leaving messages every other day for 2 weeks. I strongly recommend to everyone, never buy a Samsug product. Ps gave one star because it was least amount allowed to leave

Samsung Dishwashers suck, reason I know this is I'm 2 months with ongoing different repairs to the 2nd one that they had to put in when the first one broke down 6 months after we bought it. With this 2nd Dishwasher it hasn't worked since early Jan, 15 and they have attempted to fix it 4 times now. DON'T BUY SAMSUNG, I also have a new Samsung Microwave that freezes up, you have to unplug it and now two times it has come on by itself. Samsung said sorry and only had it 1yr and 6 months!

We purchased this dish washer months ago and absolutely love it! Every time I unload the dishes I comment how clean they feel. We just installed new lighting and as I opened the cabinet, I noticed how clear and shiny my glasses looked. Scares me to think what my old machine did (or didn't do). This machine is very quiet as well. I used to hear the dish washer running from my bedroom upstairs and now we can watch tv in the next room without hearing it. The cycle options are sufficient and I love the child lock since I had a toddler. The only downfall is that there are always smudges on the stainless steel, mostly from my toddler. The smudges do wipe away easily though. Just wish it didn't smudge like my ss Samsung fridge.

My husband and I bought this dishwasher 10 months ago. He was aware of the negative reviews but wanted matching appliances (we also have matching stove/oven and refridge) so he went for it anyway. What a mistake!!! I have yet to have a cycle come out completely clean and a few weeks ago we had our first error reading resulting in a samsung repairman needing to visit our house. It is still under warranty but what happens in 2 months when my year is up? I'm sure this won't be the last time we need a repair and I'm still stuck with a dishwasher that doesn't clean dishes. DON'T make the same mistake we made.

    Very pleased, replaced a Bosch

11 year old Bosch died, and we needed a black in stock dishwasher STAT for our busy house with three teens. This matched our other black appliances, great price (half of a new Bosch) and it was in stock, whereas Lowe's needed a week or two for anything we wanted. Bought it online, online checkout and pickup in store very quick and easy. It is WAY quieter than the Bosch and seems to hold more/have a taller tub. The tines on the lower rack are oddly short, is my only complaint. Large dishes won't stay upright unless you load them just right. But I would buy it again for sure.

We've had this washer repaired about 8 times and it keeps breaking. It will just start flashing blue lights across the controls. We had the extended warranty but BB has found excused not to honor the repair limit. When the washer is working it seldom gets the dishes clean, takes forever to run, and is designed poorly. I can think of nothing good to say about this product. I'll never buy a Samsung appliance again, and won't be buying appliances from BB based on how the warranty was handled. Buyer beware.

    Problem: Won't drain (failed pump-dishwasher)

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We purchased a complete stainless steel Samsung kitchen suite just under one year ago along with an extended 3yr Geek Squad warranty. Two weeks ago the dishwasher stopped draining. Being that I was under the one year manufactures warranty Best Buy had me contact Samsung for repair and/or replacement. Didn't think this was to big a deal but have now had 2 different repairs scheduled (all the time now washing dishes by hand) and neither company showed up or was even aware of my issue. In fact, in my conversation with one company I found that they were located in Portland and services that area only. Does not do me much good when I am in Bend, Oregon. Now, after many calls, many holds and much time wasted, Samsung tells me they have no one in my area to service this dishwasher and that they can either refund my money or send me a new dishwasher. Either way I have to uninstall and re-install new set up. With that, it has been a week and I have not heard back from Samsung so, who knows if I will get refund and/or replacement. On another note, Bestbuy has stepped in and said that they would have a repair man out to service my dishwasher under my Geek Squad protection. Granted it is a two week wait but they are doing something with regards to a product they sold when in actuality, they really don't have to based on their policy related to problems under manufactures warranty. Much thanks to Bestbuy for their assistance and doing the right thing.

DO Not Buy This Samsung Dishwasher

I purchased this Samsung dishwasher September of 2013 when I purchased my Samsung stainless steel stove and microwave. Big mistake, within 10 months the dishwasher stopped working and 2 lights were blinking smart auto and normal. The cycle would not complete. I called Samsung and they sent out a technician who replaced a sensor. Within a week the same thing happened, so I called Samsung again and the same technician came out to replace the whole main board. In between this issue my Samsung stove went out and I had the main board replaced on that, lol. The tech did they have had a lot of calls about the same issue on this dishwasher. I did ask the representative from Samsung to please document this same issue because I figured the unit is a lemon. She said no problem. Now 8 months later the dishwasher is doing the same thing. I call Samsung customer service and explain to them the same thing has happened with the dishwasher, all they could say is since the warranty ran out they could not do anything. So now 1 and a half years later $700 plus dollars down the drain. I then asked to speak with someone in the escalation department who tells me sorry you can purchase a warranty or call the company that fixed it in the first place. i told her I should not have to keep fixing the dishwasher for the same problem. She then says I see you did have an additional 8 months of the dishwasher working so you should be happy. I almost went ballistic. How can a representative talk to a customer that way. So I call Samsung corporate and left 3 messages for the so called Presidents office, to which I think is a bogus voice mail box that answers the management team is helping someone else right now, however you are next in line. A few minutes later you are asked to leave a message. Samsung is a joke and my dishwasher is still broke. If i could leave a 0 star, I would do so but I can't. Buyer beware. Samsung stick to TV's and Phones. Also, do not call Best Buy they were of no help.

We purchased this model during a sale while our kitchen was being remodeled. The dishwasher sat in our garage for about 4 months in factory packaging prior to being installed. About 9 months (1 month after the warranty expired) after our plumber installed it, we started getting fault codes, along with slow drainage, smelly residue, and sometimes little to no water flowing into it. After researching the fault codes online and talking to Samsung, it seems like this is a) a regular occurrence and b) really expensive to fix. It has to do with the motherboard in the unit. After telling Samsung customer service about the situation, they said they'd gladly send someone out and take a look....for a fee. After all was said and done, it was just as cheap to buy a new dishwasher as it was to fix the 9 month (13 month according to Samsung) old one.

    HORRIBLE

I never write reviews but felt I had to on this one. I have had this dishwasher for just over 2 years. After 9 months I kept getting a drain error message. Since it was still under warranty they sent someout and and replaced the ECS sensor. It worked for a few months then started getting over level water error. We had a technician come out who knew nothing about Samsung products and he had a send another guy out. That technician thought it was the drain hose loop that was not high enough and since the hose was not long enough to put it higher I would have to hire a handyman to come out and make the hose longer and put the loop up higher. The techniction couldn't do it because they were not allowed to alter the way the manufacturer suggested installation and charged me $90 to tell me that. So I did dishes by hand for about 9 months before I could get a handyman to make the drain hose longer. It worked for about 3 cycles then I started getting the same error code (over level water error#. I started researching on the internet and found many blogs with the same issue. I'm not even going to waste my time or money to have a technician come out again to TRY and fix it. I'm saving up for a new dishwasher (NOT A SAMSUNG). Please do your research before purchasing this product or any product. When I read the reviews 2 years ago on this website they were mostly good reviews but that is not the case now. If you are not having issues right now.....beware in about a year.

This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Stopped working after 16 months. Received error code SmartAuto + Heavy. Called Samsung for assistance, worst customer service experience of my life. Had to file a BBB complaint against Samsung to get them to fix the washer. The technician sent out to fix the machine implied that the case breaker associated with the error code needs to changed on these dishwashers at least once a year due to a design flaw. My true review of this product would contain so much foul language that it would surely be removed. Let me just say that the day the truck pulled up to take it away was one of the happiest of my life. It worked well for a few months and then it was a long string of repairs, which under warranty take months. The only nice thing I can say is that it looks nice and is quiet. The only noise you hear is your own gasp when you open it to see dirty dishes.

Only made it 1 year and errors started. We only use it twice a month. It has never cleaned the dishes very well to begin with, but I find it very disturbing that it only lasted 13 months. It stops in mid cycle with smart auto and normal lights flashing. Looked into and is gonna cost more to fix than it is worth cause warranty is up. I hope all of our other appliance last because they are all 13 month old samsungs. Apparently this is a very common problem with samsung dishwashers. Thats it for me with samsung, I gave them a shot and am now paying the price. Will be buying a kitchen aid or bosch this weekend.

    Great Dishwasher

Samsung DW80F600UTS. Very sleek looking dishwasher! Does it do what it's suppose to do? You bet! Knowing we were going to be using this dishwasher soon after picking it up we left our dirty dishes in the sink for a couple of days. When I finished installing it my wife loaded this beauty up to the max. Keep in mind she loaded it pretty much the way the owners manual shows. She filled the rinse aide compartment with Finish, dropped a gel pak in the detergent compartment, pressed power/smart auto/sanitize/start and closed the door. This dishwasher IS QUIET! You need to stand next to it to hear it. My wife loves the electronic touch controls on top of the door. The front of the door has 3 blue lights that represent washing, drying and cleaned. Once the clean light illuminated we let the dishes sit for about an hour to a hour and a half. When we opened the door we were amazed how clean the dishes were. Sparkling clean! This dishwasher does not use the heating element to dry dishes. It uses the residual heat from the hot water during the wash and rinse cycles and a fan to dry. Not only were the dishes dry but also the inside of the dishwasher was also dry! I don't understand why some people are saying that their dishes are wet or that the unit doesn't dry well. In my opinion that's simply untrue. Follow the owners manual and you'll get excellent results! We paid $499.99 on sale! Great price!

This is review after owning the waterwall DWH model for 1 year 2 months. We paid $800 + $200 ( extended warranty ) + taxes. All these waterwall models function almost the same for basic day to day dishwashing with only minor cosmetic changes in electronics/features between the model numbers. 1. The noise level gradually increased over this 1 year period of time. 2. The bottom wire racks do not hold the plates straight. 3. The adjustable rack is too loose. If you load a vessel tilted with the bottom being supported by the adjustable rack, at end of cycle, the vessel will be sitting on its bottom with water on it as the rack supporting it went flat. 4. It uses steam moisture for the dry option and this never results in dry vessels. 5. In the top rack, once we loaded a small plate close to the steam vent. We saw steam and moisture leak out during the dry cycle. 6. We are very gentle users of the dishwasher. No heavily soiled dishes. Rinse and then load pattern. Many of the above are toleratable annoyances as the basic dishwashing functionality worked. 7. LE error code indicating leakage popped right after basic warranty was over. There is even a youtube video on how to clear it by removing the dishwaher and drying it upside down!!!! You can google on "LE error samsung" and you will see number of hits. The extendended warranty repair person: a supposedly samsung authorized expert is unable to diagnose properly. He gets guidance from Samsung employee technical person oh phone. The Samsung guideline for parts replacement appears to be like their best guess. This is probably Samsungs Fault in design, making it so hard to diagnose. 1. new Leak Sensor, 2. new side racks, 3. New waterwall part 4. New sump All these parts replaced 1 at a time with 7-15 days timeperiod spanning almost 2 months now. Most recent recommendation is to replace the front door. This is not the way to diagnose an issue with standard playbook. It has been almost 2 month snow since the dishwasher is broke. Everytime the part has to be ordered thru Samsung and it takes 7-10 days to get each part and schedule the house visit. Apparently Samsung itself doesn't have some of the part and they have to special order it. When you spend $1000.00 + on a dishwasher, the expectation is it would last atleast 5+ years if not 10 years. This lasted less than 14 months Feels like Samsung hasn't really tested these models completely before introducing to consumers and using us as guinea pigs. Their support and warranty service is horrible. Avoid them like a plague for dishwashers given their lack of experience and below par service support.
