Amazing sound, easy to set up.

The atmos effect is great in the bedroom and you don't really need to add the surround sound speakers. Sounds surprisingly well playing music as well.

Exceptional sound for the price

Very pleased with the sound at home. Ended up going back to buy another one while they were on sale for Black Friday

Booming soundbar.

Only down side is it is difficult to get the sound output to match the taking on the TV. Feels like your are watching a subtitled move.

Very Disappointed in Samsung

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had quite the experience trying to find a soundbar that contains Dolby Atmos capabilities and works with and Xbox One X and Vizio TV. I tried an LG SL8YG and had issues with Google Assistant. I tried two of these soundbars and neither one would give me picture or audio through the ARC connection. I really struggled to have consistent sound on my TV as well, but the few times I could have it working, it sounded great...for 20 seconds or so. This expensive soundbar is not worth the money. They upcharge because it has Dolby Atmos, but actually getting Atmos to work is near impossible. I have now upgraded to the Nakamichi 7.1.4, and so far, have not had any issues! It sounds great, came in cheaper than the Samsung and LG, and their tech support answers the phone immediately. LG told me I was out of luck, and Samsung offered to send a technician out to work on my 1-day old Soundbar. Neither solutions were acceptable to me. If you're planning on hooking up an external device to this soundbar, BEWARE! Additionally, the in-home specialist told me that they hook this soundbar up with Optical, however, a quick Google Search will quickly reveal that Dolby Atmos can only transmit through HDMI. Optical will allow this soundbar to work just fine, but it will not give you the most expensive feature you are paying for. Don't buy just because of the name.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. The HW-Q70R is compatible with Xbox and all consumer TV brands.
Based on your review, it is difficult to troubleshoot your connection issue. Please refer to the full User Manual, page 16, which mentions Dolby Atmos decoding and playback:

Great sound

Easy to customize sounds... Little trouble syncing the delays on lip sinking... Switched to PCM and it's OK now

Theater quality sound

Passes 4K and sounds great

This sound bar does that at a reasonable price. It was easy to set up. The only negative is that it has only one HDMI input.

Good Soundbar

While its definitely impressive over what I previously owned I am thinking about exchanging it for either the Q80 or Q90.

Great Soundbar and Price

Best sound bar for the money

Not intended for music. Buy a JBL portable speaker for music. Harman kardon and Samsung hit a home run with this. I bought the Q70.

Not Functioning Appropriately

While it was easy to install and use, the sound constantly cut out. I was surprised because I thought that purchasing another Samsung product would allow for the ease of compatibility. I attempted to troubleshoot the issue by updating the firmware of the soundbar and still no success. I am pretty good with tech and couldn't figure out why it constantly cut out. I was using the HDMI-ARC feature, since I had several devices that I wanted to utilize. I also contacted Samsung support via phone and it was not helpful in any way. I also added the SmartThings app to attempt to access more settings. However, no matter what settings I changed it always ended up cutting out while watching Netflix or using my PS4. On a positive note, if this product does manage to work with your TV, it sounds amazing and I thought the quality was great for the six days that I attempted to use it.

Here are a few things you can check to resolve your issue:
1) Make sure the TV has the latest software version
2) Try setting the digital audio output setting on the TV to PCM
3) Try a different HDMI cable. The cable should be a high speed HDMI cable capable of 4K/30Hz

Lifelike Sound
