Great Encapsulating Sound
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I'm enjoying the full, encapsulating sound of this soundbar. I used to have a 55" Samsung LED TV (2008) paired with a JBL 5.1 surround sound receiver (2003 version) and JBL speakers. But that required a separate remote control and the dialog was never clear. this soundbar looks great. The sound for dialog is clear while the music of movies and TV shows is all surrounding. The bass is full, even more so than my old dual 8" subwoofer. You can tell the upward-firing speakers help fill up the room. I was very surprised that when streaming blue tooth music from my iphone that the music sounded just as full and colorful as the sound tracks from movies or TV. Many soundbars seem to do TV/Movies OR Music well but not both, however, in this case the Samsung Q70R shines in all aspects and I don't even have the wireless rear speakers purchased yet. Pro - great sound, great dialog, great bass, full bass, easy set up, nice digital display, great WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity. Con - wish it would on start up have a feature for an auto sound level (so when my kids leave it on it would not be too loud on start up). Also wish there was a way to pair it with other speakers in my house so I could hear TV/movie dialog if I leave the room. All in all Im really glad i purchased this product. the room I have this in is 22x17x19ft tall, and it is adjacent/open to an eat in kitchen which is 15x25x9ft tall. I currently have this paired with a Samsung Q80 65" tv via HDMI arc port. I still need to get a small entertainment center to house my blue ray player and cable box.

Sounds great but a lot of bugs with this soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. The overall sound of this soundbar is very good. Very loud and the subwoofer provides a lot of deep bass. The issues with this soundbar are mostly related to the HDMI. I have my xbox running through HDMI on the soundbar. When selecting Xbox on Q70 tv, only about 50% of the time the soundbar switches to HDMI along with tv. The other 50% the soundbar stays on tv-input sound causing me to have to manually use the soundbar remote to change the input. Very annoying. Samsung said it sounds like a firmware issue that will hopefully be fixed in future update. Also occasionally when selecting the HDMI input source, sound comes from soundbar but the picture doesn't pass through. Switch input to cable and then back to HDMI and then picture works. Overall - I would not recommend this soundbar. Sounds great but too many small, annoying glitches for the high cost you're paying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Samsung
Posted .Tyler:
Thank you for sharing your user experience with the Samsung HW-Q70R Soundbar. I am sorry to see that you are having some issues with the soundbar switching to HDMI input.
Please try this setup:
Connect TV HDMI 4 (ARC) to soundbar HDMI OUT (ARC)
Then connect Xbox directly to another HDMI port on the TV
This configuration would be more ideal as it would enable FreeSync on Xbox as well as ARC audio on the soundbar.

Sounds like I’m in a theater
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Listen I have no bad reviews on the all I can say is that this is all I needed for my basement I hid the woofer behind the wall and when the bass hits it sounds like I’m in a theater def worth the money I also used the rocketfish sound bar mount and made it fit perfect

Great mid range soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Once paired with my in ceiling speakers the system sounds almost as good as my previous Onkyo & Polk 5.1 system. I was able to run my in ceiling Polk speakers with the Samsung rear speaker amplifier/receiver purchased separately. It uses traditional speaker wires not a proprietary connector like most rear speaker for sound bars.

excellent sound bar for my samsung tv
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Great sound, EASY setup, seamless 1 remote use for both the tv and the soundbar. couldn't be happier. When using the soundbar paired to my phone, the sound is great as well. It is a little pricey, but I wanted the 1 remote use, so I justified the cost

Great family sound bar
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. You can actually hear dialogue at low levels...then, when it’s time to crank it, there’s plenty of juice. Picture shown with 65in tv. Quite satisfied.

Q: QuestionDoes it have up-firing speakers for Atmos effect?
Asked by leophile.
- A:Answer Yes. What Samsung calls Acoustic Beam Technology. It's a flutelike tube at the top rear of the sound bar which has two speakers firing inward and projects sound upward.
Answered by Gsx4
Q: QuestionOther than larger subwoofer, what is different between the Samsung - 5.1-Channel 360W Soundbar System model HW-Q60R/ZA and Samsung Harman Kardon - 3.1.2-Channel 330W Soundbar model #HW-Q70R/ZA. Which is better and why?
Asked by Vaughn.
- A:Answer the Q60R does NOT have adaptive sound and I believe it doesn't support Dolby ATMOS or DTS:X. It does have DTS virtual X though.
Answered by carmer90
Q: QuestionAre you able to connect more speakers such as rear speakers to this setup?
Asked by Jimbo.
- A:Answer Yes there is a matching set of small rear speakers that work well once you figure out how to use the remote to adjust their volume. They are sold separately but are reasonably priced
Answered by Mike
Q: QuestionDoes this sound bar have to be updated to get Atmos
Asked by Wayne.
- A:Answer You can get Atmos but pay attention to the audio hook up. There is info for this in the supplied paper work and the on screen E-Manual.
Answered by SgtPepper
Q: QuestionWhat rear speakers work with this set up?
Asked by Dominion.
- A:Answer Samsung makes a wireless set that connects very easy and works well. Model - SWA-8500S. *note: wireless only means from tv to surround base kit. then there is a power wire and there is speaker wires from the base to each speaker.
Answered by Supadave
Q: Question...hence this silly question about how to orient the subwoofer. If it is next to the TV against the wall, do the letters face out, or should the round speaker face out?
Asked by Newtosubwoofers.
- A:Answer Try it both ways and see what sounds good to you.
Answered by JRC1
Q: QuestionDoes the passthrough allow for dolby vision?
Asked by saiyanzzrage.
- A:Answer I can!t say for 100%, but looking over all the spec sheets it does not mention Dolby Vision. Considering Samsung has not supported Dolby a Vision in their TVs I would not be surprised to see them NOT support it in this bar. I continue to search for the definitive answer as I am seriously considering this bar to replace the quirky LG SL9YG I just bough and must return.
Answered by hdtvkeith
Q: QuestionWhen connected to phone via Bluetooth, are their any adjustments required to the tv audio?
Asked by ARTG.
- A:Answer You should be fine but check the tv settings under audio to be sure the soundbar is the source of sound and not the tv itself. When I use wifi I occasionally need to check that on my Samsung TV. YMMV with a different tv manufacturer or not smart tv.
