Difficult to tell if it is working properly. May be result of very limited training by installers. No manuals on system by limited training I mean none. I previously had Yamaha sound bars and Bose Souuround Sound an$ they were easy to setup and manage.

I bought this with a new Samsung 4k TV. The instruction manual is almost worthless. The instructions are very unclear. HDMI ARC was very difficult to setup. Bluetooth (from TV) setup was extremely hard to setup. I finally got it working after diving deep into the internet. Now my biggest problem is that the subwoofer has been cutting out to the point where I want to get rid of my little over a year old soundbar for something else. I have troubleshot this to no end. I wish I could get my money back.

Salesperson told me it was wireless extensions speakers to soundbar. It is only wireless from sound bar. The two speakers must be connected by you guessed it.... wire. Sound dispersion not good. Only provides weak sound and very little. Don't buy

If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output. 2. Check the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source. 3. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar using the Soundbar’s remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics. 4. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.

Reasonable to set up, but it's price dictates its just not in the league of Sonos or Bose. I suggest invest more in one that delivers clear speech, as well as great sound.

Please know that the HW-M/550 has a dedicated Subwoofer level control on your remote.
The button is labeled “WOOFER”, and is located to the right of the Volume button. Push the button up or down to adjust the volume of the subwoofer to -12, or -6 to +6. Pressing the button will revert the subwoofer volume to level 0.

It sounded great in store reminded me of stereo guy's selling car radio but didn't tell you it was hooked up to a booster. When we set it up it was terrible needed to click up to min 20s just to hear.

Used with my Samsung 55" smart TV, and the wireless speaker set recommended (also Samsung) that matched sound bar. Surround sound was "Lame" Took all the audio equipment back.
