I Absolutely Love this Set!!!

First of all I have to say that I was skeptical of this set since it was so new on the market (by a few mos) & there weren't any reviews to be found. Also I had so many people warn me against buying front loaders due to mildew/bacteria problems, which if you'd just read the user guide it will tell you to leave the door open to air dry after each use & occasionally take a bleach/water mixture & wipe the door seal/lip down. However, it was such a beautiful set made by a reputable company & was on SALE!!! I have to say I am so glad I purchased this set, It works like a gem! My husband has a pair of golf paints that he has been unable to get a few stains out of for some time & was shocked to see that this machine did the job! I also washed a large load of new expensive yet fuzzy bath towels (which usually shed pretty bad for a while) & they came out smelling GREAT & weren't shedding at all! The Power Foam cycle is really an awesome feature which not only cleans your clothes better, but gently removes stains as well! The steam cycle on both washer & dryer as well as the sanitize option are Great for me since I work in the medical field! The only problem we have had this far (aside from the actual cycle times taking longer than the estimated time) is that water was backing up into the detergent dispenser and would be full of water after a load was ran,but that was due to our home having very good water pressure & just required turning off the water valves & opening them back to half open. Obviously I would suggest doing this at the time of installation if your home has good water pressure because these babies are Heavy! Last but not least the dryer doesn't come with a rack so you have to purchase it separately, however you cant find it through best buy nor Samsung & even after calling them they seemed puzzled & didnt even know what the part number is! Hopefully I will have that problem solved prior to anyone else having to encounter it. Other than that we are over all very Happy with this purchase & love its platinum/stainless steal finish & multiple settings! Also just to help people get a more thorough review/comparison I found this review right after I made my purchase which made me even more thrilled that I took a leap of faith & purchased this set! http://www.washerdryerinfo.com/content/Samsung-WF431ABP-Washing-Machine-Review.htm I Hope you buy this set, because you wont be dissatisfied! =)

5 years of use with no problems and no repairs. It has a pure cycle that deals with the smell front loading washers can get after a while.

Hello Fellow Appliance Shopper-
Now I'm not one tor write reviews-but I felt so mad about all my research and "being prepared" before me and my husband made this huge purchase that I just feel like if I can help someone else-it would be worth ALL my time wasted. ?Since our last washer/dryer combo was purchased in 2003 - we had ALOT of catching up to do on all the latest features.
Needless to say-we decided on the gorgeous Samsung 3.9 Cu. Ft. 13-Cycle High-Efficiency Steam Washer - Stainless Platinum with the
matching Dryer and two Pedestals. The whole SHABAM!! I was so excited (as much as one could be for a new appliance.)
The first problem arises the very FIRST DAY with the Dryer. It would not blow any hot air. Everything was connected properly. We called BB and they gladly ordered us a new one and exchanged them. **ok i thought to myself - one problem-no biggie** Boy was I wrong. next day we decided to run a Sanitize cycle on our washer. It gave a LE error on the display and would not finish the sanitize cycle until we shut off the matching and had to run it on a normal cycle. (beats the whole point right) It did this many, many times luckily on the first two weeks of our purchasing the product. We set up an exchange hoping the "SECOND" new washer would wipe out the problem. We received
the washer and luckily the installers did a test run and the replacement would not STOP running the water!! OmYgOSH! I was about to throw these machines out the window. I asked the installer to leave the our original Samsung with us - at least I could wash a normal cycle.
Ok-now I know your dying to know how it turned out. Well -as I believe most of us would agree (especially my husband) you don't want to KEEP a product that you spent over $3,000 dollars on that fails in the first two weeks of purchase. So we decided to go with the Whirlpool 4.3 Duet Steam washer and dryer. It has all the same features I liked about the SamSung but with a more reliable company.

I had high expectations but I am really dissappointed and frusterated. The cycles are too long, spin cycle not as expected, not energy efficient, and the rubber seal is a pain. 100 minutes to wash a normal size load? and forget that steam business, thats ATLEASTt 126 minutes!Other cycles are alot longer The sales clerk focused on the high RPM's of the spin cycle... and I thought my clothes would come out practically dry... wrong! Yes my water bill decreased slightly but my electric bill INCREASED. How is this efficient? The rubber seal has to be dried when your finished for the day to prevent mildew growth! The pull out soap dispenser was designed poorly. Big waste of money

The Samsung W/D set is so AWSOME. So many setting and features. Quiet and efficient. We love how it plays tones instead of a buzzer.
The set was delivered and setup by delivery company. I made sure there was no vibration or movement of the washer or dryer. They have not moved and are very secure. We have ceramic tile floors.

I just bought this washer and the matching dryer. They have so many features on them, it's unbelievable!! Quality wise and feature wise, I give them 5 stars, no doubt. But performance wise, I would have to go with a 4 (still not bad, but just not excellent). While I think the machines are high-techy, modern looking and really large in size, I don't feel that the clothes come out any differently than the old machines I had. I mean they have a lot of bells and whistles and are gorgeous to look at it, but I don't think they are worth the full price that they sell for which is $1,300.00 each. I bought these on a day that Best Buy was having a great sale, so I really lucked out on the price. But if I actually had paid full price for these machines, I may have been a little disappointed. But if they are on sale for considerably lower than the full price, then I would say they are an excellent deal and really worth the money. For me, the steam feature doesn't seem to do much, but maybe I am doing something wrong. The clothes feel exactly the same as when I wash them without the steam. So if you are going to pay more money just for the steam feature, I'd go with the machine that doesn't have steam and save yourself some money. Because like I said, I don't see any difference in the clothes when I use it.
All in all though I am very happy with my purchase. But like I said earlier, I only feel this way because I feel I paid a good price for them and that I paid the amount that they are worth. I think I would be a bit disappointed with the performance level of these had I paid full price.

Replaced 12 yr old washer that was top of the line then, and rated for low water use. A *really* nice improvement. Lots of control with the various settings, more than I need. Very much quieter than the old one, but the signal volume is much too low to be useful for me. This machine is HE, and I'm still learning about that, but I can see it uses little water and the energy efficiency rating is unbelievably good. I've found that I use less detergent, even less than the recommended amount, and still get cleaner clothes. Takes much larger loads than the old one. I'm getting real fond of the delay start feature. And it looks good too! We bought the pedestal, so there is less bending and stooping, but think about the cost vs benefit on that. Best Buy gave us a great deal on financing, but made us wait for delivery. Overall, I'm very happy with the washer and the deal.

SO FAR SO GOOD, I HAVE HAD THIS WASHER FOR A MONTH AND I HAVE TO SAY I AM IMPRESSED. I DON'T IMPRESS EASY AND I AM BY NATURE A HARSH CRITIC.
I DON'T HAVE ANY COMPLAINTS, IT HAS WORKED WELL AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT I CAN WASH A KING SIZE COMFORTER WITH OUT HAVING SPLOTCHES OF LINT AND SOAP RESIDUE ON IT WHEN ITS DONE. EVEN MY KING SHEETS COME OUT MUCH NICER. AS FOR THE CLOTHES IT WORKS WELL, STAINS AND ALL COME OUT. I HAVE TO GIVE 5 STARS TO THIS PRODUCT, BECAUSE I WAS VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT BUY A FRONT LOADING MACHINE, BUT I AM HAPPILY PLEASED.

This machine adjusts the loads and water level by itself. No more guessing what size load you have or overloading. It fits large comforters easily. It runs pretty quiet (other then hearing the water enter through the hose).

Love this washer! Clothes come out smelling a lot more fresh than my old top loader. High speed spin really dries everything out and has cut down the dry time by at least a third... Saves some bucks there as propane is 2.75 a gallon! Quiet operation, a high rating on Consumer Reports and a roomy tub are big pluses! Will hold a queen comforter with ease, probably a king.
I originally bought a Whirlpool model that is the top rated model on Consumer Reports but it arrived damaged and ended up on back order. The repair guy that came out to look at the Whirlpool recommended Samsung or LG without hesitation when I asked what brand would be reliable. The best people to ask are those who fix them... or not so much with those brands according to him. This was on sale thus I made it so with some excellent service and advise from our local Best Buy Store! I wanted the white because it was cheaper, but not available... but the stainless platinum is really cool looking!
The sales lady pointed out that this has a manual drain and filter that should be maintained every two months (the little door on the bottom). This is a good thing compared to those that don't as those models let gunk and old water sit in the tub that eventually causes the machine to get a bit stinky. My old top loader had a similar issue. I thank Lauri at BB for that advise!
Pretty quiet machine, more so than my dryer. Most noise is on the spin cycle and with the pump running. Can't really hear it behind a closed door.
It is a bit picky about being overloaded and unbalanced loads. In those cases, the cycle will end up soaking wet laundry. Just take out some clothes and set it on rinse/spin, it will do fine. If you're unfamiliar with front loaders, Samsung has a few advice videos on their site that help in this regard. Still prefer this inconvenience over shaking my house apart like an out of balance top loader! CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK! Remember those days?

This unit will do everything one would expect and so much more. I don't know what more one could want in a washer. It is so quiet and so efficient. I'm glad I spent the extra bucks for the next to the top of the line unit. That said, I expect to get the real return on my investmnet with the water efficiency. Water and sewer costs are very expensive in Wake Forest, NC. In 5-7 years the unit will practically pay for itself.

Beware the matching dryer

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I purchased this washer and matching dryer from Best Buy about 2 months ago. It was supposed to have free installation but when Best Buy delivered the machines, they refused to install it because my laundry room was not located on an ouside wall. I had to install it myself which took almost a week. The washer is extremely heavy and the pads on the rear legs are made of a soft material to help keep the washing machine from moving during spin cycles. The only problem is that these pads were sticking to our linoleum floor and made lifting this machine to move it very difficult. They were like trying to unstick suction cups.
This machine looks good but I have not noticed anything special about how well it cleans anything. it does about the same job as the 13 year old machine that it replaced. Most of our clothes are pretty clean going into the wash so we really haven't put it to the test.
The only problem I have with this machine if figuring out load size.I find mysel guessing all the time to figure out how much detergent to use.
If you plan on buying the matching dryer, pleae see my review of the gas dryer. It is a disaster!

RESETS when Power Blinks and doesn't RESTART!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I will get straight to the point! Horrible design FLAW! A MAJOR Disappointment!
The Samsung (Model WF431ABP/XAA) Washing Machine has a HUGE FLAW that you should SERIOUSLY consider before you buy it, especially if you live in Florida or any place that has any kind of Power Fluctuations or outages!
If the Samsung Washing Machine loses power for only a few seconds, for example, from a momentary power outage like your lights blinking on and off, the machine RESETS itself and SHUTS OFF, and does not start again! Even worse, the washing machine does not even start again where it left off when the power blinked; instead, it makes you start the wash cycle all over from the VERY BEGINNING!!! So if the Samsung washing machine had completed 85 minutes of a 90 minutes wash cycle, and the power blinked, it would FORCE YOU to restart the 90 minute wash cycle from the beginning (and you would have no idea that 85 minutes of the wash cycle had been completed). I replaced my old washing machine with Samsung, and EVEN my “cheap” washer would just continue with my laundry after a power fluctuation!
What this means is, if you are in the middle of a wash cycle and the power blinks, the Samsung washer turns OFF and keeps the door LOCKED. The washer does NOT finish the wash cycle, rather if forces you to MANUALLY restart the cycle from the very BEGINNING again (and only after YOU discover the washing has shut off)!
For example, if you were washing clothes using the heavy duty Steam wash cycle, which lasts about 2 hours 30 minutes, and the power blinked ON and OFF ANY TIME during that 150 minutes, the Samsung stops working and shuts off, AND then the Samsung forces you have to start the entire 150 minutes cycle ALL OVER AGAIN from the very beginning of the wash cycle!!! What is EVEN MUCH WORSE, if you had programmed the Samsung washer in the morning before you went to work to wash your clothes, and you had a 6 hour DELAY so that your clothes would be done by the time you got home, not only would your clothes NOT be done, BUT you would have to START the washing machine all over again from the beginning when you got home!
Even if you don’t work and have nothing better to do than sit in the laundry room (which few people do), if the power blinks, you will STILL have to RESTART your laundry over from the beginning! I guess at least your clothes will be REALLY REALLY clean [being sarcastic], although that is a huge waste in energy.
I also bought the Samsung Dryer and Dish Washer, but I ASSUME those items have same design flaw. Will Samsung give me back my $3500 I spent for my washing machine, dryer, and dish washer, to get a LG? I am stuck with this horrible design flaw for the next 5 years.
This is a MAJOR BLUNDER on the part of Samsung product development. It almost appears they never did any product research in the field to find out about these problems. It would have been an easy programming fix to have the Samsung washing machine continue where it left off when power resumed, and Samsung could make an easy programming change on the mother board to fix this. I believe Samsung should fix this problem and replace the Mother Boards on all 431 Washing Machines (and Dryers and Dish Washers, too).

I think overall this is a very good washing machine. I upgraded from a old
washing machine that had the agitator in it. This is an extremely quiet washing machine, has multiple settings based on what you are washing.
The quick cycle is one of the best features, you can run a load of clothes in 30 minutes. I haven't used half of the settings yet, but most of them are around 1 hour. Highly recommend buying it when it's on sale.

I absolutely love this washer! I upgraded from a top-loading washer and wasn't really sure if I wanted a front-loading washer. However, I am so glad I made the decision to purchase this washer. It is quiet, and it gets my clothes much cleaner than my old washer.
Since my children are grown, I don't do a lot of washing, but I wanted a washer that would wash rugs, dog beds, and queen comforters ... this washer does a great job on all these and more! So far I couldn't be more pleased.

I got this washer on sale and it was a TRUE value even at full price. It washes twice as much as my Maytag Neptune did. The numerous settings and large capacity allow me to wash various items including larger comforters. The pedestals are worth it. The added height takes the strain off your back.

Noisy Washer

This washer is noisy, Ironically, it comes with a sticker that reads, "So quiet you won't even know it's on". It sounds like a car wash is in my laundry room when it's running. If your laundry room is tucked away at the back of the house or down in a basement you may not hear it but my laundry room is off my living room & I can hear every cycle of the wash loud & clear even with the door closed. It has a lot of features but due to the noise I am only giving it 3 stars.

I run a daycare out of my home and had to invest in a new washer. My old one was a Kenmore which I thought was great until it got stinky and the bearing went out. Anyway, I love the steam feature. My whites get so nice and clean now. My daughter got red food coloring all over the butt of her white jeans and with the features it all came out after sitting for two hours and dried on. I was so relieved and thankful! Plus, I love the little tune it sings when the cycle is done. Makes me feel happy. It also doesn't shake so hard to make every room in my house shake. (The old was terrible!) The only thing I can say I don't like about it is it is a little bigger in size than my Kenmores as far as the outer housing goes.

Bought this washer and matching dryer almost two months ago. Amazingly effective with less water. Very quiet, no vibration, and it looks beautiful, too. I've been trying out every cycle just to see what it'll do! So far, it has far exceeded my expectations, even on a thick queen-sized comforter that I sort of had to force to get into it because it's so "fluffy". Washed it wonderfully to the point that it looks brand new and smells SOOO nice! LOVE MY WASHER...especially when I got it on sale for $900! :-)
