I reccomended regular maintenance. A good way to care for it is routinely run a drum wash cycle with vinegar. And wipe down the rubber seal and drum very often. Keep door cracked instead of closed when not in use. These things will ensure that it doesn't smell sour.

Gets the job done efficiently and with minimum settings to play around with. I have used several washing machines including top loading ones, the wash quality is much better than previous ones and quite god for handling the spills and mud of 3-year-old and 6-year-old kids. Moreover, it is energy efficient and saves a lot of water.
