Our old washer died about a little over a year ago, but our finances precluded getting a new one. Then our son was diagnosed with leukemia, and using the laundromat was no longer an option due to concerns about bacteria which is a problem for anyone undergoing chemo. After research, we discovered that steam washers did a decent job of getting rid of bacteria in clothes. After subscribing to Consumer Reports, we discovered that this washer rated highly, especially when compared to other washers at a much higher price tag. If I recall correctly, this washer rated an 80 while the highest rated washer rated an 83, and cost a few hundred dollars more. Now, I'm not the type of person who feels angst over my washing machine killing polar bears. When I buy a washer, the biggest question I have is "Does it get my clothes clean?" The answer to that is a resounding yes. "Environmentally friendly" or not, this washing machine maybe even gets our clothes cleaner than the old top loader ever did. Furthermore, it really does seem to be more gentle on clothes at the same time. Technology is a wonderful thing. There are a couple drawbacks though. One, a load takes longer. A full load on the sanitize cycle takes 2 1/2 hours. Some of this is mitigated by the fact the spin cycle leaves clothes less waterlogged, and so drying takes less time. Still, plan your time accordingly. Another thing to keep in mind is that after you finish washing, you need to run a paper towel around the rim, and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent mildew. I asked if this had changed in HE washers over the last few years, and the delivery people told me play it safe. Also, when not on sale, the price tag is still a bit hefty for my tastes, even if I wasn't on a budget. However, that's just my own personal preferences on what I like to spend money on. Compared to other washers, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, this particular machine excels. Pros - - Steam Cleaning. - Dryer clothes when finished. - Plenty of cycles to handle most family needs. - Large enough tub to handle a king-sized comforter, assuming it isn't too thick. - Gentle on clothes while sacrificing nothing in cleanliness. - 10 year warranty on the motor. Cons - - Long cycle times. - The maintenance needs of any HE washer where mildew is concerned. - Expensive like any steam washer of comparable size. Even though there's a 10 year warranty on the motor, buy the extended warranty. As technology becomes more complex, the potential for breakdown increases. While it's all well and nice to say that it's the principle of the thing, even the most exacting of production lines will produce the occasional lemon. I have never purchased an extended warranty and regretted it. In summation, we are quite happy with this washer so far, and recommend it highly to anyone willing to spend the money.

I absolutely love my Samsung washer! It has the perfect amount of diverse options to fit all of my needs. As someone who spends a lot of money on her wardrobe, it gives me piece of mind my clothes will come out clean and in the same quality as when I first bought them. Definitely helps cut down on the costs of dry-cleaning! Also, has a great active wear setting that is perfect for all of my workout clothes and preserves the unique synthetic and quick-drying material that they are made of. Only downside is that you have to be careful to wipe out the front ring closely to avoid standing water, but I find this minimal and non-invasive. One good wipe down and then leaving the door open to air-dry does the trick!

We had a similar model that we used for about a year, five years ago. The new one costs less and works as well as or better than the old one. It works very well as a family-size system (with the dryer.)

I had great luck with another washer pair from Samsung and needed to get a front loader for a second floor laundry. The washer is super quiet and can take full dirty loads and get them perfectly clean in about 30 minutes. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great washer and especially if you need to put it on the main floor or second floor.

The washer and dryer I bought together works perfectly and makes less noise, I did notice that it uses less water compare to my other washer.

Bought this washer and the matching dryer last month. So much more efficient than my old one! Press normal and it tells you when it will be done.. Dryer does it too. Both hold large, large loads.

Efficient, quiet and quick washer with simple to use configurations and buttons. Had high ratings on consumer reports so went with this one. Price is pretty standard for type and size of washer. Have been using it for 2 months and absolutely no complaints. Has variety of nice colors to choose from as well.

I replaced a Whirlpool that was several years old. The old machine was still working well and I actually gave it to my son. The new Samsung was so quiet when it was running I kept thinking it had stopped. The ability to program various aspects of the wash cycles is quite nice. But you can also just pick a program and push start. I also like the ability to save one of your custom cycles so you don't have to reenter all of the settings. The only feature my old machine had that the Samsung does not.... at the end of a cycle the Whirlpool would roll the load around gently to get any spin wrinkles out of it. Other than that....this machine is an upgrade in every way.

works great! Lots of great cycles to choose from, and we love the steam feature. Nice and quiet and spins the clothes really dry, spending less time in the dryer as a result. Clothes smell fresh and clean.

I've had this and its companion gas dryer for about 3 months now. I can do 20 - 30% more laundry per load in this than my old top load washer. With the pre-wash cycle and lots of cycles to choose from everything seems to be cleaner. Some cycles can be long but it's time well spent. The clothes come out cleaner than my old top loader and much drier form the spin cycles on this machine. When it does spin it sounds like an airplane about to take off. You can only hear it if you're in the basement with the washer - you can't hear it on another floor. The clothes come out much drier so they spend less time ( and money) in the dryer. Definitely worth the purchase.

This unit is a replacement for a LG washer. It is a far better washer than its predecessor. We find it to operate far quieter and seems to provide a clean trouble free load each time.

Replaced my old Kennmore top loading machine with this Samsung front loader. So far so good. It's simple to use and gets the clothes nice and clean. It's a good value for the money.

This washer is quiet and works really well. I have only had it for a month and so far it has been very good. I have not used all of its features so I can't comment on the extras.

i love it, uses much less water and spins it so good that the dryer doesnt have to work as long unlike my old top loader washing machine. cant wait to get my new dryer also!

This washer is a great value for what you get. I've cut my wash time in half from the larger loads and the fast cycle times. All the functions are amazing and very easy to use.

I really enjoy doing laundry in my Samsung Front loader its not loud and it washes clothes very well. I do highly recommend.

This washer has a high capacity you will be able to wash a king size comforter with no problem. It leaves my clothes smelling good and clean. It's very quiet minimum to no vibration.

This washer will handle a huge volume of clothes without leaving detergent spotting or a musty smell that I've encountered with other HE washers. But I feel like I really have to mash on the buttons to get a response. My last Samsung HE washer all you had to do was turn the dial and it would come to life. I miss that. But other than that it's an awesome, highly functional and handsome product

So my Kenmore washer decided to die on Thursday so we went to Best Buy on Friday to buy a new one. I did a lot of research to see what brand I was going to go with and Samsung beat all others hands down when comparing cost, efficiency, and available settings (more bells and whistles for the cost). We have been using it everyday since Geek Squad came and installed it and my wife absolutely LOVES IT! Makes a pretty cool song when its done vs the traditional obnoxious buzzing sound.

Just bought a new home, had to consider water usage for the well and the septic field, not to mention clean clothes, time and electricity. We love this new washer. Very efficient with water and electricity, with its many wash options, and get our clothes cleen! Even our big comforters. Easy to operate and looks great too! It's not the biggest, ( though we considered the biggest) but I believe it is the best. It does all we need and more. We are very happy with this washer.
